The final montage with the Ramin Djqwadi soundtrack was such a mood. It's like a depressing beauty. The Green Wedding. "One flesh. one heart. I am yours and you're mine. Whatever may come". That was about the two tortured souls, being united by fate, in the godswood, under the moonlit tree. It's them who were forever becoming one, until the bitter end. And together they will make a king.
"Nobody is allowed to be happy in this world!". Facts. It's Got fam lol. "The war for Rhaenyra's puss" took me out. That's so accurate lol. People either upset she have a puss, worried about preserving her puss, taking her puss, upset she using her puss or want her puss all to themselves.
Rhaenyra, much like us, was too complacement to see the forest for the trees. It's only fitting that while Viserys, Corlys, Rhaenys, Lionel Strong and all the rest of the gallery of clowns were bargaining and splitting hairs about who will sit on the iron throne and while the audience is too busy fawning over what kinda mustache twirling villainy Daemon is plotting, the chain of events that sets off the downfall of the mighty Targaryen dynasty starts with the two unlikliest of peoples finding each other on that cursed night.
By thinking Criston is Rhaenyra's paramour, as in side piece, Joffrey thought Criston was "just like them", as in more open minded to a libertine lifestyle. Joffrey didn't know Criston walked away the moment he realized Rhaenyra had no intention to marry him. Criston was literally asking for a death sentence for his trangression. He's too puritanical. He's like a psychotic Ned Stark. Therefore when Joffrey approached him saying "we know about your little secret", Criston took Joffrey's politicking as a direct threat to his honor and his white cloak. If he was willing to die himself, what is he gonna do to someone else? The key here is to remember that Cole is a knight from the middle ages. His conception of morals and honor are not like ours. There is no "one night stand" in his dictionary.
We no longer speak about Ser Criston Cole. He lost his chance at forgiveness (from me) when he sided with Alicent 😂😂 I can forgive a lot but that was the moment I was done with him. I mean yeah RIP Joffrey or whatever, but Alicent??? Really??? Unforgivable 😂😂
It's so frustrating watching ppl blame Otto for "pImping out his daughter" when pretty much every noble marriage in Westeros was arranged. What other choice did he have? Like yeah, Otto is guilty of finding the best prospect for his daughter instead of marrying her off to a fisherman lol. That would be the duty of any man in a medieval feudal monarchy. Rhaenyra's position gave her the security to do whatever tf she wanted. Others like Alicent didn't have that luxury. "It's Otto's fault he married his daughter to the king cause the king's daughter might get jealous & paranoid" is not the ownage of Otto ppl think it is. It speaks more about the character of the daughter. Mfs have no understanding of basic politics blaming Otto for everything, thinking it would be sunshine & daisies if Viserys married Laena as if Corlys didn't spend his whole life complaining about the Great Council stealing his wife's throne. You switch Otto with the head of any ambitious noble house and the outcome is the same. The issue wasn't Otto or Corlys or anyone. It was a weak king making a bold & unpopular decision that he had no power to enforce.
I disagree. Otto could have had his pick of the litter in King's Landing but specifically went for the king. He specifically manipulated the situation. That is not the same as arranging a marriage. Usually both parties know what's going on not just the father of one of the parties. He was her pimp. Otto wants the throne while Corlys was just trying to get his blood on the throne. There's a difference.
Shout-out to Milly Alcock and Emily Carey in their final episodes of the season😢
