Matt, I like the fact that you actually teach how to frame a home. Young men take note if you are looking to get into this field of work. Great video. 💪
He has no clue what hes doing lolol he doesnt even know what way sill gasket goes ( first step ) to building any structure just because its youtube doesnt make it right
@@mjnelligan7288Wait til I joke about calcing rake walls.. Then you can really just call me an idiot.
I will admit, sill gaskets are new to me. I personally don’t care to use them as I have a better flashing method for wall to foundation.
Larry Haun Jr.
@@MattBangsWood i dont think the sill gasket was a joke you stood the wall on it lol but I prefer snapping lines on the floor for my rake walls but to each there own
@@mjnelligan7288it must hurt being so smart, yeah?
Thought I’d share this, came across the channel back in 19’ while be a laborer under a GC. Covid hit and work slowed down so I went ahead and got my CDL. Still at it so on my down time I’m always learning from boss man Matt! 🔥🤘🏼 stay hydrated with the Cali heat! My semi AC is on blast while watching this 😂.
I remember Q and Fox
O.G crew.
Keep it up Matt. Ive haven't seen you on snap in a bit. Wishing you, your family and crew a fun exciting summer. Hydrate buddy
i LOL - “lift like Larry “ 😂😂
The squad handled the business 🤟🏽 video#3✅
“Yea, I think we can do it…I’m feeling jacked”🤣🤣🤣🤜🏼🤛🏼💪🏼
Great video Matt from your fans in MN. Lived in Paso Robles back in the 80's and 90's
Nice work Matt. I watch mostly because the quality in your work, second to none. Looking forward to the rake wall. Peace out! 🔨✌
Fire video Mat. I learned so much with the provided information that you explained like the reasons you are doing it and how it works. (Cali cut)
Fuego framing Matt 🔥🔥🔥
Great work matt Tony from Aussie land I'm also a chippi my dad also a carpenter learnt heaps from him bless his soul cheers mate oh get realy hot here in Australia to but we plot on
I love the new content. Man you were gone for a while before the Reno videos! Also what’s with the dudes and no belts?
6-2 is a good shift I’d say. Especially when you got people who know what they’re doing without being told. A job streamlines and efficiently gets done.
118 here the other day. Good video
Damn missed the T 🥺..6hrs in, but it’s a good thing. Means a lot of ppl are watching till the end ✅🤘🏼🤘🏼
Good stuff Matt. Thanks.
Get yourself a leaf blower, clean that plate up real fast. Also very useful to cool yourself down with. 😎
Matt ,good job .thx for the teaching .Your one of the best thx.💪👍
Good job matt
Really enjoy the videos Matt, I'm a framer in Canada, and I enjoy watching how other places are building. I just spent some time in Idaho and was able to take a look a building my inlaws are having built, it seems like their techniques are similar to yours. One thing I wonder is the reasons for the bottom window sill being double and having your trimmers (we call the cripples) land ontop of the sill and continuing under the sills. Here we need to have our trimmers run from underside of lintel to bottom plate. reason being is that if the sills shrunk it would cause a gap on your trimmer either causing your lintel to sag or not be fully bearing down to foundation.
Good job
You can use construction blade for the saw - with less amount of teeths. Iw will cut more straight and faster.
Only upper 90's on my warehouse dock repair project. Over 100 snd would definitely be doing be moonlight and LED tower lights
My saw already cuts out of square. Dropped a 5 x 13 glulam on top of it😂
Loving these vids
Hello, you are amazing, I really like your videos
Bang on 💪
19:36, what tool is the other guy using, and what's it for?
Peevee plate tool.
Is it code in California for those blocks you add between the studs or are you just going above and beyond?
Seeing you frame a house made me make a decision to either pay someone 65k to frame or frame it my self.
I wonder, if the 6x6 and 6x8 you put in as the header are acting a bit like the tuned mass dampers in skyscrapers in earth quake zones.
Matt, man if you could just go around to each Cali corner and show the orientation of how each wall comes together. I understand the aspect of something to nail sheathing/drywall to, but I guess still struggle knowing which direction..
I’ll show it soon
Matt,
Epic Channel, good video..
What’s it gonna take for me to get a black Panella shirt??
I got you. Email me your address.

Nice!!
I appreciate it :)
What you use for back problems ?
Hey brother you didn’t show us how to fasten those bolts after you raise up the walls
Always had to build our headers man I really like those four by six like always appreciate you showing the work with the tips to doing a specific task
Why kind of shank and size of nails are you using for framing?
Joke's on you. My saws always cut out of square at least 1mm (~1/16").
Mine do too, but I don’t think it’s the saw.. probably just me. 🤣
@@MattBangsWood That's what I was about to say xD
I at least know it's me. Too impatient.
Matt you need a chiropractor! Your shoulder is out 1/8”!! lol.
i guess i missed it in the last vid but why are you putting vertical beams in the walls?? is that just code for that area?
The 6x6 posts are just for structural, shear wall start and stop.
@@MattBangsWood gotchya thanks for the reply man love the vids
where is brother fox
Where do you get that tool that pulls the top plate together?
Called a PeeVee plate tool. Comes in small and large.
Where has fox been havent seen him in any videos lately
He’s been working for another company for a while now.
What were both miter saws out for
Chopping blocks, neither of them have been used yet. I have the new Dewalt.
How often do you use the flip out extension on that square?
5-10 times per day.
@@MattBangsWood has it loosened up at all or has it stayed true?
How come you guys don't check for level/plum/square/whatever it's called (i'm not a builder but have an interest in learning 😅) when the walls are going up?
Happens when we plumb & line!
👍👍
❤❤❤❤❤
Those beam saws ain't cheap. Hopefully it's still under warranty. Send it back!

Jealous of the wood quality. Idk what the deal is but here in Ohio, its wack.
