    That's what happened when I first used fusible fleece I pressed from the fleece side and it puckered. I stopped using it. now I will press it from the fabric
    side. Thank you Robin.💗

      You’re welcome. I’m not sure if I did It in this video but I now use my quilter’s clapper to press down on the fabric side to make sure the fleece has been fused well. Good luck!

    Thank you!! I have been wondering how some of them end up with no Bottom seam!!! NOW I know! the trick is in the lining!! Wonderful and in the extra lengthy zipper ... Great tips here!

      Glad I could help! I always wondered about those seamless pouches too. The extra long zipper just makes life much easier. 😉

    Thank you so much! I hadn’t made a zip pouch in a while. It’s nice to have step-by-step instructions, to give my brain a refresher on the geometry. I had a remnant of a Waverly lightweight canvas print - what a cute bag it is now! I even boxed the bottom corners. ☺️

    Very pretty fabrics. I've had a small dresden ruler for about 4 years and not used it yet - maybe 2023 will be it's lucky year

    I will remember this method for when I don't want a bottom seam in outside fabric.Thanks for showing this. Currently I am focusing on finishing my first slippers made from yarn so it might be a while before I can wedge in a sewing project. 😉

    Do you have a video on how to get rid of the dented edges?

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  9 месяцев назад +2

      I’ve shown my process in several zipper pouch videos and live streams but I do not have a stand alone video about my process. In this video if you go to 24:32 you can see what I do for my zipper corners. Basically I gently push up from inside the pouch until the zipper corner/edge pops out. I have to be careful that I don’t push too hard or far. Just enough to keep the zipper ends from being dented. After a few pouches you get the feel for It.
      There are other techniques such as zipper tabs. You could also try the Butler Method. I haven’t tried It but some people like It. This is the original video from the designer. Plus she has fun patterns to sew 😉. m.ruclips.net/video/RFQ9xdHmTYY/видео.html&pp=ygUUYnV0bGVyIG1ldGhvZCB6aXBwZXI%3D

    Would you link me to where you get your tassels? Does it come complete to attach to the zipper or do you need another ring? Thanks! 😊

      As I mentioned I buy them from various stores on Amazon. I buy the jump ring separately.

    Can you explain why you didn't sew the lining bottom at the beginning like it's typically done, I just want to process this in my mind. Thanks.

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  9 месяцев назад +2

      At 21:29 I mention that you can start at the bottom of the lining if you’d like. I do start at the bottom of the lining for a standard zipper pouch. Since I didn’t need to sew across the bottom of the outer pouch area I thought It would be easier to start at the “top” and sew down and up the other side. As long as everything is sewn together you can do It in any order that works for you.
      When sewing a standard zipper pouch some people sew the two long edges first. Then they sew the two short edges.
      I like to sew in one continuous line as much as possible. It saves on thread over time versus having to cut and restart.
      I hope that helps. If not please ask again.
