  • Workshop: Effective Policy Communication to Advance Community Health led by Prevention Research Center team members: Ross Brownson, PhD, Elizabeth Dodson, PhD, MPH, and Renee Parks, MSc (held Thursday, May 2, 2024).
There was a Zoom glitch halfway through the workshop recording; the slideshow is frozen on 1-2 slides though more slides were advanced and discussed. The audio is not impacted. Please reference the workshop slide deck wustl.box.com/shared/static/9.... This video captures key content through the introduction of the main workshop activity. We apologize for this issue.
    Learning objectives:
    • Define the components of a communication model.
    • Apply the model to policy communication.
    • Describe key elements covered in a policy brief.
    • Gain experience in crafting messages.
This workshop was developed as part of the Prevention Research Center (PRC) at Washington University in St. Louis Core Research Project (2019-2024), a multi-year project funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U48DP006395). The project’s overall is to develop and share strategies to increase the use of effective policies to reduce community health disparities.
