FYI those buildings are not abandoned , but already sold to smart rich Vietnamese investors . Besides that Vietnamese people never show up on daytime when it's too hot and sunny because unlike the westerners , they hate sun tan . It's very dangerous for the skin . It can cause cancer. After 6h00 pm those streets will be a lot more crowded , especially on week-end or during holidays and summer vacations .

This is not the tourism season for local Vietnamese tourists. School season for the kids and parents have to work. Besides that, there are cheaper seaside resorts in Vietnam with beautiful beaches. I think these resorts might be targeted at foreign Vietnamese with lots of money.

FYI that place is only busy in the evening and at night ( after 6:00 pm ) because in daytime it's too sunny and too warm and unlike the westerners the Viet people hate sun tan . On week-end or during national holidays ( Lunar New Year , Independence Day , Reunification day ...) and summer vacations there are much more Vietnamese visitors from big cities and other regions of VN coming there for vacation and relaxing . Also those sites are not designed for Western visitors (same as Bana Hills in Danang) but for Asian tourists who usually spend a lot more money while travelling than the others . Many westerners who are coming to VN for the first time don't know that reality and jump to an erroneous conclusion that those investments are fiascos . VN knows how to diversify its clientele by building different tourist spots to suit visitors' taste from different parts of the world . SunWorld and VinWorld , the two companies which own those places were making hundred millions USD every year with Bana Hills ( Danang) and Vinpearl ( Nha Trang ) before the Covid pandemic . Grand World and VinWonders in Phu Quoc are still too recent ( just Inaugurated in 2021-2022 ) to be well known. Wait a few more years and the end of the current world economic turmoil period and you will see how successful they will be .Those theme parks are like Disneyland/Disneyworld in The US , Europe , Japan , Hong Kong , etc...are not cultural sites but entertainment parks for families and vacationers . For westerners I highly recommend Ha Giang , Ban Gioc waterfall in Cao Bang province , Ha Long bay , Cat Ba Island , Pu Luong , Lao Cai , Mai Châu , Moc Châu , Ninh Binh , Cuc Phuong national park , Hue , Hoi An , Phong Nha/Ke Bang , Hue , Hoi An , Quy Nhon , Nha Trang , Con Dao island , the Central Highlands , the Mekong Delta where they can find more authentic traditional Vietnamese culture and vibe .

I see you are not a very intelligent person . The smart multi billionaire investors like Vingroup and Sungroup know very well how to diversify their tourism clientele by building different kinds of tourism spots . Those European style theme parks are not designed for European tourists but for Asian visitors who can't afford to pay a long and expensive trip to Europe . So in VN at least they can enjoy a bit of European vibe for a much lower cost and at a shorter distance . Every day thousand of tourists ( mostly from Asia ) are checking-out Bana Hills , VinPearl and Fansipan cable car . Did you know that Japan , Hong Kong , China , France and some other European countries also have their Disneyland theme parks to attract their local and foreign tourists . Singapore , Malaysia also have their western style tourist places like Genting mountain in Malaysia and Sentosa garden or Marina at the Bay in Singapore . Bana Hills in Da Nang , Vinpearl in Nha Trang , Fansipan Legend in Sapa are bringing hundred million USD every year to their owners . Grand World and VinWonders in Phu Quoc are still very recent (2021-2022 ) and they already attract over 500 000 visitors in 2 years . Never ever pretend to be smarter than those business people and try to teach them how to investment their money or be more royalist than the king .`They need to preserve their East Asian architecture at all cost `as you said . Ha Ha ! Just open widely your eyes and keep your mouth shut dude .

However, keep in mind that the majority of the foreign tourists visiting Vietnam are from CHINA, so unless you love catering to Chinese only, then rethink your plans. Vietnam has unique beauty to attract the right kinds of tourists so if they want to cater to the Western crowd with money to spend (and won't trash the country like the Chinese), then they should rethink what they are doing. When building things like these mega theme parks, they also need to take into account how it will affect the land...make everything more eco-friendly and blend in with the land better than shiny new fake European countries everywhere...or try to mix it up and make some that aren't European looking (like that abandoned water park in Hue with the dragon...why not do more cool dragon themes like that which is at least in line with Viet culture than making everything European?). Also, clear English signs should be put into all tourist parks, trains, buses, etc., to be helpful to those whom may be interested in visiting the country. Maybe a tourist information center in each area to help Westerners find all the "gems" that may interest them such as canyoning, caving, white water rafting, bird sanctuaries, Ha Giang Loop, etc.

@@doodahgurlie At the beginning I didn't want to waste my time bending down to your level to answer your comment but with your sparrow's brain I think that you really need to be taught about how today the Vietnamese investors make business . They know how to balance their investments in tourism to suit visitors from all parts of the world , not only from western countries . FYI there are only three European style theme parks in VN (Bana Hills ,Vinpearl and Grand World) . The rest are Vietnamese cultural and natural sites to attract western visitors . Lots of them are still hidden gems , not very well known by the foreign and even local tourists like Pu Luong , Mang Den , Thung Nham . Thung Nai , Moc Châu , Son La , Lai Châu , Dai Lanh , etc...
The Asian tourists in VN are not only from China but from all over Asia ( South Korea , Taiwan , Hong Kong , Singapore , Malaysia , Thailand , Philippines , Brunei , Laos , Cambodia , India , Indonesia , etc...) and most of the time they spend more money in our country than the western backpackers and youtubers .
Why are you always carrying the Westerners on your shoulders/head and down looking the Chinese and the other Asian people ? For you the westerners are always right , even the most ignorant backpackers/youtubers . Unless you are a `me My , me Tây , a former miss Saigon `. I already witnessed lots of irresponsible , disrespectful , uncivilized Westerners behave like barbarians in VN and other countries in the world . In Ha Giang , Mai Châu , Ha Long Bay , Cat Ba Island , Ninh Binh , Phu Quoc islands , Nha Trang , Dalat etc...they throw plastic bottles and other trashes in the sea and on the roads and climb up the fragile cliffs at the Unesco World Heritage and Natural Wonder of the world Ha Long Bay/Lan Ha Bay . They draw graffitis on Hoi An's historical walls (another UNESCO world cultural heritage) and do much more condemnable things in VN like wearing inappropriate clothes or having disrespectful gestures while visiting pagodas , temples and churches . The Vietnamese people are perhaps too soft with them or too shy to warn them . In China , Japan , South Korea , Thailand , Indonesia, Malaysia , India , Middle Eastern countries , etc... for sure they would receive a heavy fine and be kicked-out of those sacred premised right away . A chance not all the western tourists are doing those things . Most of the time they are having a quite correct behavior .
Just do a trip in VN once to witness the today reality here instead of only watching and having a virtual trip though those foreign youtubers/influencers videos .
Normally I am a polite and respectful person , but enough is enough so I have to reply strongly to your silly one-way-thinking comments. In VIet Nam , we has a well known proverb : ` When we go with Buddha we wear a safran sari but when we go with the ghosts we wear paper clothes ' . Hope you understand what I mean . My mission is also to correct and give right informations about VietNam to some poor informed foreign backpackers /youtubers.
And please do me a favor , for the last time stop sending me your poor informed housekeeper's opinions and comments . Thank you !
