R/T daily is tuff and fun, gas is the only issue but tbh can’t complain because that’s what we sign up for😂🔥
Would u say it’s worth it? my truck gets about 8 mpg and I’ve been looking at either getting an rt or a civic bc gas. I can’t afford daily driving my truck anymore lol

I love how people be like “this shit slow blah blah” bro, I’m used to driving a 1997 Saturn and Nissan cubes with 100 Hp and some change, I’m pretty sure I’m gonna upgrade and feel fast just from a v8 alone😂
The R/T Chargers and Challengers are absolutely not bad options if you can’t or would rather not get into a higher trim. Most people just want to have fun and they think only the 6.x L can do it, but that’s so far from true. The 5.7 is honestly the balance between fun and fuel economy over a Scat or any other 392/378. Enough power to have a good time but won’t kill the wallet when you just cruise around on a daily basis. My ‘21 Challenger RT gets an average of 22mpg combined and I’m filling up about every 6-7 days when using MDS for most of my commute, and roughly 19 when using manual mode or keeping it in Sport. I’m also putting about $75 in the tank from empty, but I’m using 93 which is about $4.40/gal at the moment where I’m at and my estimated Mileage until Empty is projected around 350 miles. These cars 0-100 is pretty quick, and while they certainly hit a wall after that, it keeps pulling and can easily push 130. My honest gripe about the engine, or at least the execution of MDS is not being able to select it manually. I hate you can’t be in Normal mode without MDS unless you get a Tazer or something equivalent. There should have been an ECO mode that flips between the two; that would have been leaps and bounds better than what it is. Other than that, it’s a fun and reliable car that knows how to get rowdy.

My first mopar was going to be a 5.7 and my friend talked me out of it and i got the scat pack instead and after a year i upgraded to a hellcat, but the 5.7 is a cool car for what it is.

On my 2016 R/T I’m getting 20-22 MPG 390-410 miles range every time I fill up. Not bad unless you stepping on it every time
I’m about to pick one up today at 5pm and I can’t wait!! I wanted the 2023 r/t Daytona but it’s a little out my budget. I might have to settle for a used 2022 with 2k miles on it.
Wonderful car. Miss my r/t with sunroof, and alpine. Mopar cold air intake, and emblem delete. Personally owned, just don't know why everyone called me a Fed. No one wanted to hang out with me. It's like the car scared people away.

I have a 5.0 , scat pack and 2019 RT my 2019 rt is GREAT on gas compared to the other 2 and its also fun so I would say if you looking for a fun daily get a RT

I have a 2016 R/T. I got a diablo performance tuner for it and tuned it for 93 octane and i get about 17-18mpg city and 23-24 highway
How did you get the performance pages or the srt modes apps? Is it aftermarket or part of the navigation package? If I do get an R/T charger I’d go for a clean 2015 - 2016 older body style though a challenger would be nice too. It would be good to know either way. Thanks!

I have a challenger R/T plus and my gas mileage is pretty damn good I mean I get over 400 miles when I fill up and I fill up once every two weeks or sometimes once a week and it’s a daily drive. And on top of that these car were meant to be push hard so yes they are very reliable cars
Had a charger for 7 years no problems…still got it and just got a Durango rt…only people who haven’t driven the car be making up all this BS
If you drive in the city, your mpg will always be terrible. I had a 2004! Subaru and it only got 15 mpg in the city. That is awful for a 4 cylinder. It also got police attention too.

Man I love the R/T’s me and the wife have a 2020 challenger R/T and we absolutely love it it’s plenty of power for a daily driver and it’s not bad on gas
I keep my mpg around 17-20 depending how I’m driving , live in texas. Long empty roads 😈 20 miles to drive to work and still only fill up once maybe twice a week. I love my RT
What's the difference between driving this and a ram with the same v8 there very reliable I like them and don't get me wrong u love driving these but they just laci so much quality of life in the interior

Can you do a video on how the 345 hemi responds to 87 vs 89 vs 91/93? I know it recommends 89 and 87 is ok. But ive heard that on 87, its more sluggish and u get the worst mileage. On 89, its normal. But on high octane, it gets the best fuel economy and is more responsive.
Btw gas tank capacity is 18.5 gal

Also u have an open diff. Not a limited slip diff. They put that 2.62 in for fuel mileage. If u swap to the 3.09 limited slip, u will pull and jump harder. But you will rev higher on the highway and suck down gas faster
When I had my RT challenger I never put 87 in it because it said in the manual it might cause a octane knock , but there is like no difference in performance between 89/93 on that car except you get better MPGs.
The car would definitely run better with more ethanol meaning 93 would be best over 87 and yes you can feel the difference

Stock RTs come with a 2.62 OPEN differential. Stock Hellcats come with a 2.62 (LSD) LIMITED SLIP differential. I'm going to install a stock Hellcat 2.62 LSD on my 2016 RT Charger soon. It's a direct fit.
better off going with 3.09 LSD like the scats. Better torque.

Hey lorshift, I found a charger rt for sale with 70k miles that’s within my budget(is an ex cop car so unfortunately has the column shifter). Obviously I’m going to do a lot more research, but would it be good in the long run if maintained properly and driven responsibly?

@@iirugrat6176 i agree with the idle time concerns, but with a little less than 74k miles according to the dealerships post i don’t think it was used for a very long time. obviously i will do my research and what to look for on the car if i do ever go look at it, but idle time isn’t my biggest worry.

I wanted to add a widebody kit to mine when I get it but think about it depending on which body kit you get it’s like 1800-2000+ then you have to paint all the parts, then you have to make the wheels wider and all of that is not cheap at all so add all of that on top of general maintenance and that’s what made me not want to right away but I may later on when I drive it for a long time I love the look of the wide body’s though but shits expensive

yes lol, i lose nearly 0.3mpg when i drive out of my driveway and i dont have a heavy foot on the accelerator. i get average of 17.3 mpg with a 6.4 and thats EXTREMELY good. i say its not worth it though because once you hit like 50k on the car it lost more than half its value when you initially bought it, and the amount of gas you put into the car can probably buy you another new v8. (im not even considering the repairs, insurance, etc.) cool car though

The charger rt holds up pretty well in the snow I used one during the ‘19 winter in North Dakota and I had zero problems.

I've driven my 16 RT daily for 6 years now, and I love it. Yes, I've had some issues that needed to be fixed, but the car is great. I'm only at 91k miles too and I'm taking care of it so I can keep it until 250k lol hopefully.

@@sterlingmack5394 just be aware that salvage title etc. I would’ve put money down on mine but figured I’d just take a larger monthly payment, pay an extra few hundred on top of it to kill some interest, and refinance later down the road in like a year or two. Keep more money in my pocket rather than a down payment

Dodge would sell more R/T is they offered them in AWD like in 2014. The only AWD they have now is the 6 cylinder, which is too slow for the weight of the car.

How much you thinking I should save up for the down payment? Im 22 but my credit score is around 750 now with 2 year credit history. I’ve been wanting an RT for the longest and the I think I can get it especially since both you and me are electricians.
10-20% of what the car value is or even more depending on your finance situation but if you say is true abt having 750 credit score then you might be able to drive home with 0 down if you have no delinquencies on your report and have a stable full time job.
