I live in Korea and honestly the style in the Incheon Arrivals pack is actually SPOT ON for Korean style. I think I've seen people walk down the street in every single one of those items, down to the swatch. Also the "kimono" type of outfit you mentioned is actually a Modernized version of a traditional Korean Hanbok. It's really accurate to what modern hanboks look like, and I feel that modern hanboks are really coming back into casual fashion here so I was super excited to see that in the pack. (Kimono is different from Hanbok. I would suggest looking it up because there are SUCH gorgeous Hanboks out there, I saw some IRL and they almost made me cry cause they were so pretty).
I really love these two kits, I love that they collaborated with people actually from the cultures, I think the swatches are beautiful, I think there's a nice variety of items, and I think that the amount of items for masculine and feminine sims is really well balanced Plus I like the variety of cuts and styles in both kits!
Honestly these might be the only kits that I buy. I'd still like to see either the price-point being reduced or the amount of assets being increased so I feel it's actually worth the money, but these assets are STUNNING
Really enjoyed your overview! I don't have much interest in kits-- feel they are a bit overpriced BUT I agree.. that one evening gown my jaw dropped. It's absolutely gorgeous! I also love the silk pants for masculine. While I don't love the whole concept of kits, that doesn't mean that they haven't done a great job with the styles. The sheer details, layering, textures-- it's amazing how far the team has come. I do still long for more items for other ages.
I like the potential of kits, but I agree they are overpriced. These are done well though. I think I'm going to put some of these outfits on my random sim and Venessa Jeong.
So, I'm of two minds on the pricing of the kits. One the one hand, I do wish that they would either drop the price a bit, or include more items. On the other hand, early stuff packs had roughly the same amount of content for twice as much, so in comparison to already released content it doesn't feel out of line? Maybe that's just me being jaded and already used to paying too much. Edit to add: The items in these kits DO look amazing, and I love that they worked with actual designers from the cultures in question to make them. Also appreciate how genuine you are with your reviews as always.
Honestly... yes, these are gorgeous. But once again they’re cute/fashionable. I want kits for normal people of all ages and sizes, not just trendy skinny young adults. Although at least a lot of the street fashion might look better on elders than most of CAS. I’d have to see it... but I’d love kits that were a bit more unique. Goth, geek, laborer/real farmer not cottage core, weekend chores, plus size, etc
The clothes are beautiful and I like them but personnally, I wished that they would have come with full worlds just like Henford on Bagley for UK or Snowy Escape for Japan. I love giving cultures to my sims and it's just a missed opportunity to create a different environment for the sims and different activities or cultural aspect that would give our sims more individuality. Clothes are nice but our sims are still without personality.
I kinda feels like they put different cultures on a tier system. Which one should we give more time and effort into. I know that’s not the case and they can’t give every culture their own expansion but it still feels a little icky
There was actually a new hand henna in addition to the one we already had in the last base game update, so there should be I think three or four different styles of henna total now
I like kits, and the idea behind kits, but I don't like the pricing of them. I don't think any of them have been worth the current price. I feel like the Country Kitchen Kit came the closest. Hi. I'm new to your channel. Thank you for showing us the new clothing kit. It helped me to decide to buy it. I have Sims that are Middle Eastern, so this will work for them quite nice. I like kits, most ppl don't. They are quick little fill-ins for things you might be missing, or wish you had, without buying an entire pack. :)
I'm gonna echo what others have said before: I'm personally a kit apologist because they're essentially The Sims 4 version of The Sims 3 store. It's a means for you to get more paid content in your game, with no actual new gameplay attached to them. While I agree that they are cashgrabs 100%, I'm also seeing kits through the lens of console players, who have absolutely no means to access or create CC for themselves, and therefore, kits are a cheap(er) and alternative solution for them. PC/Mac players like us can continue to scoff at their existence (trust me, I'd also prefer more expansions or games or stuffs instead), but for console players, this is the closest thing they have to having CC-like items in their game.
Really beautiful items. Aside from giving some nice items to masc sims, it also feels like some of the outfits will work on elders too, not just teens and young adults.
EA, please, please, please, Give us some India-inspired world with Taj Mahal etc. or Turky, Israel etc. We don't need only fashion, we need also new worlds inspired by different cultures. It can be added with kits as well. 🙏 It would be soo cool to have african saffari as well. ❤️
Beautiful clothing but quite odd that 2 of the cropped pants in the fashion street kit come with the shoes included...Why?!? Would much rather be able to choose to pair those with any shoes we'd like than forced into one style of shoes...
I wouldn’t normally buy a CAS kit if I didn’t love the Incheon airport, and hadn’t lived in India! It made me laugh how much this Kit release is very individually targeted to me!
@@EnglishSimmer I’m Australian, so maybe an Aussie expansion pack is needed. We’ve got tropical islands, the outback, mountain ranges and very trendy cities. They can take their pick. 😂
I think a very sensible pack choice for EA would be an expansion with several empty customisable worlds. So defined climates, earth colour and plots but you pick the street trees, the surrounding landscape type and a few other things. Like an extra flexible version of the Newcrest concept. That would be strongly supportive of the kits concept. New cultures dealt with fully in expansions are great and all but there are so many thousands of cultures there is no way that everyone will get their culture dealt with that fully before eventually Sims 4 is superceded. So improving our ability to DIY it would be a timely choice.
@@ChrisJohnsonCJs-Kitchen I obviously want Australia but I also really think it’s time the Africa continent had some world representation. Imagine it being Rwandan inspired, with one neighbourhood being thick jungle and another being a modern city. 😍 But I don’t have a theme idea for it! Just my dream world.
I agree with your thoughts on these kits! Initially I thought it was odd they left out bindis as well, but I did some research and found out they’re religious in nature (although have become more popular in the secular realm recently), so I understand why they left those out.
Hello, loved your review and love that a lot of the people reviewing these Kits have similar comments. But I did want to let you know that 1. It's pronounced "IN - CH- Yawn" In-Ch-on. Not "In- Chen", you almost had it. Google the word, and it will tell you how it's pronounced :). And 2. The outfit that you said looks like a Kimono, which is Japanese is supposed to mirror a similarity with traditional Korean clothing, The Hanbok (Han-Buk). Hanbok's for male and females do differ a bit, so I think that one mirrors a hanbok a man would wear. Both stylist did mention the inspiration for the clothes/styles. An interesting watch if you haven't seen those videos yet.
I really love the street fashion one, but at 6 assets per dollar, it's just not worth it. I've said before and I'll say again, the only way I'm buying a kit at these prices is if it's 1920s flapper fashion.
While I'd love to see the price point reduced, I'm absolutely going to get these. I love the representation, and I think it was smart to include people from the cultures in the creation of these kits.
As soon as i saw thw blog post 0reviews I knew I would like the street style kit more than Incheon kit BUT I feel like thebIncheon kit has solid basics that I will ultimately get more use from. My only complaint about the two kits is that the crop top blazer in the Incheon kit has a beautiful red plaid swatch that the longer turtle neck blazer doesn't have 😭😪 I just need to gush about thebfact that EA FINALLY has given us a pair of men's pants that go past the ankle without a rolled cuff!! Those are so few and far bwtween it's ridiculous lol Oh and another super plus for me is that there are two stylish full body outfits that a hijabi sim can wear!
I love both of these kits but I'm really upset about how badly the assets convert from female frame to male frame sims. I really want that loose sweater vest or the blazer with turtleneck or the big hoodie for male sims. The assets look androgynous but all the tops we got for male sims that we got from this kit have similar silhouettes to things we already have, which is a lost opportunity to bring in some variety to masc sims.
nah they deffo have more assets even individually. fit kit only had 19 in total for masc and fem together (again like these some of them are for both frames)
I feel like snowy escape and Incheon arrivals are really separete for the sole reason that SE is about Japan and IA is about South Korea. I know a lot of westerners think they are one and the same but they are two separate cultures and the items do represent that. (No hate, love you)
Yeah they absolutely are separate! I just meant in the sense that they are both have some comfy, warm layered clothing so in that sense they supplement each other well on top of the masc stuff from cottage living. for example, a checked full body outfit with khakis was included in both but could also be comparable to uni as well (and thank you to all the people who taught me about hanboks 😊 that was fully my ignorance)
@@EnglishSimmer Agreed!! And that is a really good explanation❤️ No worries about not knowing about hanbok, its not exactly common knowledge. But while we are at it, may I recommend looking up Ao Dai (vietnamese)? They are also gorgeous and Im hoping we get them in the base game. 😊
OMG, don't call it kimono! That's Japanese. Koreans will freak out due to the on-going tension since the Japanese occupation. It's a hanbok, traditional Korean clothing but modernized. Modern hanbok is a trend right now. Is the skirt for male sims part of the Incheon kit? If yes, it's more or less common for Korean celebrities nowadays for modelling or as stage outfit. Never seen it as airport fashion though... yet. Belts are like this for Korean celebrities, the normal but rather long belts simply hanging down.
They are screwing up with the masculin/feminin tag nowaday, same in the Cottage Living EP, there is a bottom that should have been in masculin catalogue only, and another one in feminin catalogue only, you can tell by the cut of the pants. Also that children top tag for masculin children, that is really... like really feminin with the little tie and open back... never seen a little boy wear that kind of top lol
I literally said I would personally buy them and I did but I still don't fundamentally believe in the business model of kits nor do I think they're needed for the franchise??? if you've watched any of my previous videos you'd know this though. just bc I like the assets in these doesn't mean I think they're worth the £5 price point (I've said this for every single kit) and would much prefer them sticking to sps, gps and EPs without kits

Literally none of the people in the program (that I've seen anyway) like kits as a concept, she can like the assets and still be critical of the business model
I guess this is a different strokes for different folks kind of thing. I thought more than half of the clothes in both of them were hideous. Too much stomach showing - even for the guys this time, and too many weird styling details. The Mumbai pack was better than the Korean one, but it was still pretty ugh. I guess I just hate fashion, lol.

I'ma be honest, I liked the Incheon kit, but I am sick of the normalisation of over feminisation of men and did not like that short skirts are in the masculine category. If it ain't a kilt, I'll pass (kilts are sexy - they come with beards and blades). In the Mumbai kit, those earrings look like a light fixture. Why do they always make earrings so huge? I would've liked the nose piercing better if it connected to the earrings. Why didn't the Mumbai pack come with those cool Indian rings? I would've liked, too, if pieces of the full outfits would come separately, like that coat. Why don't we have long coats as a separate top item? Color cohesiveness is nice within a pack, but the true test is how well the pieces fit with other packs. Incheon will fit really well, but watch for townies. The Sims have been all around the world. When is the American black urban community going to see "representation"? Will we always have to rely on CC? #underdogs I ain't tryna offend anyone, I'm just speaking my truth about my feelings.
regarding your first statement: you don't have to dress your masculine sims with clothes that you feel are "too feminine", easy as that! you can also always remove the tags or change them to your liking. it's such a weird thing to criticise. "over"-feminisation or "over"-masculinisation doesn't exist.
@@recordtapesbackward I respect that you feel that something I see doesn't exist. I'm a bit older than the simmers I follow and have seen the trending shift throughout my life time. (I'm older than MTV, computers, and the Internet, for example). I also respect the need for LGBTQAI representation in a world wide game, and to a point, they are represented in my game, but I am also in the point of view that it's OK to be heterosexual and favor a heterosexual world, especially a play-play world I play in. Meanwhile, knowing how randomly townies dress, I am glad that you suggested that I change the tags. How do I do this? I am not prepared to see Marcus Flex or Geoffrey Landgrabb in a pleated mini skirt in My game... is all I'm saying. I guess I'm just to old for the "everybody else is OK with it, so you should be, too" way of thinking.
I agree about the earrings, too big. Rings would 100% make sense. I also have wished, many times that we could have jackets/coats as a separate. I would love to see an animation added where our Sims could take their coat off & hang it up when they come indoors (they did it with shoes in Snowy Escape, js) and then put it on again when they leave. More culture is needed in the game and I really don't think people should have to buy a kit to get it. We have way too much USA style/culture.
@@katchibediako7036 I get what you mean about the townies, but I believe that the pre-made ones won't wear any of the newer content that has been released after they have been added to the game. However, newly generated sims might do that. there actually is a way to modify the tags, targeting specific items, and you would need the s4s (sims4 studio) app for desktop. it's free and it's also a way to add own designs and customize swatches if that is interesting to you. I bet there are easy tutorials out there!

Babe, I love you (as a person) so much, and I want to watch every video, and I'm a bisexual person as well so I'd love to support you and your channel, but I feel like your videos aren't in the RUclips videos' current standard. I mean no harm, just a constructive critic, maybe it's time to begin thinking in shorter video formats and maybe more dinamic editing.
Oh my I hope you understand my comment, It's just my opinion as a viewer that connect with you a lot, but can't enjoy all your content right now ❤️
fully get the shorter videos. I get you 😊 it's hard with deffo not being able to afford an editor and still have 5 videos up a week but deffo gonna try teaching myself and playing around with it more
@@EnglishSimmer Oh, I get it! It actually is a lot of work. Five videos a week is a lot! I mean, I *know* you're trying your best, it was just my point of view I guess.
Anyway, I'll always be here supporting you! You are very sweet and a gem to the community :)
@@giomks9046 no I really appreciate it! been feeling this way about my content for a while so you're absolutely not out of line at all. I got super comfy with what I was making so it definitely needs some adjusting. appreciate u being v kind about it though, it helps trust me!!
@@EnglishSimmer thanks for understanding and also replying (it means a lot). I'm glad you got the point. Have a nice Wednesday 🥰!!
#underdogs
I ain't tryna offend anyone, I'm just speaking my truth about my feelings.
regarding your first statement: you don't have to dress your masculine sims with clothes that you feel are "too feminine", easy as that! you can also always remove the tags or change them to your liking. it's such a weird thing to criticise.
