    Thank you so much for this. I'm pretty new to train sim (but loving it). Just knowing how to reset things when one of the safety systems engage is huge,

      You're welcome, it's often a subtly different procedure on each train. It does my head in too lol.

    I love that they were able to put the original voice files on. In fact, "STÖRUNG" (= disturbance) is really the first thing you hear when you activate the locomotive! The voice is actually quite famous in Austria, it's the voice of long time TV announcer Chris Lohner. In someway she is the personification of the ÖBB, as they use her's voice also for all the announcements you hear at austrian rail stations.
    About door controls: The difference between the ÖBB and DB mode is that on ÖBB mode the control is side selective, while on on DB mode the driver only unlocks the doors in general with the grey switch (they get closed before departure by the train conductor). So in reality the side selector switch is without function in DB mode (but it seems in general that Train Sim World can only simulate side selective control). We also use DB mode sometimes in Austria in case that wagons don't support side selective control. The voice alert "Türfreigabe" which you hear when you lower the speed close to standstill only appears in DB Mode.
    The function of the red emergency button (or "mushroom" as we call it) is not 100% correctly simulated. If you just want to break as quickly as possible you put the break handle in the lowest setting (SB = Schnellbremsung), which also immediatly empties the main air gauge. The emergency button is for the case of collision danger (you hit it and then try to get yourself to safety). It empties the air gauge, activates the horn, deactivates the automatic wheel lock protection, pops the main circuit breaker and lowers the pantograph.
    One question: If the displays are not really functional, can you change the PZB mode? Normally that happens by entering the train data in the DMI (middle display).
    And by the way, there is actually one specific situation that allows to release yourself from PZB surveillance in Austria but that would lead to far now...
    Still, very impressive simulation! I'm still afraid that I won't buy that add-on, as my wife rightfully would question my sanity if I'm doing the same thing in my free time as in work...

      What awesome feedback especially about the words we hear and the mushroom button. I know with our trains we're trained that you'll stop more quickly if you apply a full service application and keep some power on to stop the locomotive wheels from locking up. Similar is taught to tram drivers. Great to have a real driver respond and I wish I had seen your comment earlier, sorry for the slow reply.

    Why do they put "safe to release" when in practice there isnt? Dovetail meh again? And what happens IF you relase? In the route Ruhr- Osten it is a big problem regarding PZB, where you get a lovely "twangsbreinsung" out of nowhere, like it doesnt warn you with "awcnowledge" as it is suppose to. Happens more than just one place, very amusing and lovely........i always play witg safety system enabled, as it is just waaaay more fun that way, but not when Dovetail is lacy......

      I believe the safe to release feature is tied to every route with PZB. The PZB helper was created during the German routes only time period. Apparently, Austrian rules are that you never release from monitoring. I don't know how much that's true, but it is true that there are specific rules for releasing that the game doesn't necessarily enforce as it's probably specific to something.

    Spent all the time loading the game, then loading Semmeringbahn, push the button to start and my whole PS4 system crashes.
    NOT HAPPY

      That sounds like a bad install or too many DLC for the PS4 to cope with. I suggest logging a ticket and they can help you through it dovetailgames.freshdesk.com/support/home I've not heard of any wide spread issues

    • @trainsimulatordriver
      @trainsimulatordriver  9 месяцев назад

      @@oddfellow831 yes very much especially on a machine of so little RAM. Even the ps5 struggles with more than 9 to 10 DLC. It's not unique to consoles, I keep the number of installed DLC on my gaming PC down as well to maintain performance.

      I just got onto new console and yes before I would have maybe 5 or 6 DLC installed and it does make a difference, but not for everything. Ultimately, you'll want to upgrade your console when you can.

      Unfortunately they cost money to make. DTG supports 200 people, those wages come from somewhere. It takes around a year to make each route and it's trains.
