I think that if the album had been with this style in 1997 no one would have had anything to say, and perhaps today we would speak of the third masterpiece, I would really like to hear all the songs redone in this way, however, the truth is that in spite of everything, Be Here Now is a great album, powerful, epic and heavy, like a tank advancing ready to destroy everything and this was Oasis.

I agree 100%. I love Be Here Now and consider it an in your face mess of an album that is incredible. I love how long the songs are, how heavy and the fact there are way to many guitar tracks on each song. After hearing this I was speechless. I can't imagine how big they would have been if this album was mixed correctly. Maybe one day the entire album will come out remixed, but to then I'll enjoy the remastered versions and this sick remix.
After a while you kinda start to realize that brickwall mixing was that secret ingredient that made 90s Oasis so awesome. Everyone else tried to put some nuance in the mix - Oasis folks went full freight train bazooka flamethrower listening experience.

Chris Dumbaugh Well, i recorded with Owen Morris when i was doing some session guitar work for something, he produced this album and by all accounts, most of the bass on albums was probably replaced by Noel at some point by the time the recording process was finished. At least when Guigsy was in the band anyway.

I'll always love Oasis but Noel antagonized things as much as Liam, and on more important issues. now I'm no expert but I thought something about that bass sounded off I mean as in not recorded in the same. I won't pry on your sessions with Morris but I'd be into giving a listen to any of your's, if you have a site, etc.

I'm from algeria, and we Algerians known by not listening to english music, but the day i discover oasis, all my musics preferences changes, there music are so powerful and hypnotic. i feel no more plaisir to listen to today musics, it's like compare 'the godfather' to today mediocre movies. i wonder why oasis is not in the list of '100 Greatest Artists of All Time', and why they never won a grammy award?
I grew up in the '70s in Edgeley, not too far from Burnage. Me and my mates would roam far and wide, and Gallagher Country would certainly have been on our itinerary. We used to get beaten up quite regularly. However, once you were 'down', the blows would more or less stop. The sort of OTT violence that's around nowadays wasn't nearly so prevalent back then amongst younger kids. Yet a feeling of background menace was ever present when you stepped out of your 'local area'. And it's that brooding atmosphere of impending Burnage 'bother' that makes the music of Oasis so personally resonant for me. You had to have eyes in the back of your head in '70s Southern Manchester. It was a gloriously unpredictable place to grow up in.
Love both versions, this just sounds much more crisp, in fact just scrap the old tracks and start again from day one, another 20 years of oasis please.

This would have been a better album cover for Be Here Now. It looks cooler and it drips with irony. Oasis were the biggest and most talked about band at the time and no one on the cover is paying attention to them. Liam is also wearing an expensive coat while standing in the projects, a nod to how far they've come from their Definitely Maybe days.
This is brilliant. The strings during the chorus remind me of Noel's solo stuff from 2011 a bit. I also love the alternate version of the single cover photo.
I'm listening to this and I'm 17 again. The layered over production was always so amazing. Noel never appreciated the decadently delicious mess he made. I'm so glad BHN is being reissued. Oh and THE FUCKING STRINGS, it's so good!
Love this version but you can't beat the original chaotic mix, it makes the song and everything they were about at that time but heck, if it gets a new generation of listeners on Oasis then that's great, the world still needs them.

No. The rest of the album is full of heavy guitars because they were a heavy guitar band, not a pop band. The only reason Noel has done this in retrospective is to try to make it sound more like Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve because he fucking bums off Richard Ashcroft, despite being a better songwriter.

BHN is one of my favourite albums. I saw them on their BHN tour in Canada, they were amazing the songs were amazing and I wouldn't change a thing.

I'm from algeria, and we Algerians known by not listening to english music, but the day i discover oasis, all my musics preferences changes, there music are so powerful and hypnotic. i feel no more plaisir to listen to today musics, it's like compare 'the godfather' to today mediocre movies. i wonder why oasis is not in the list of '100 Greatest Artists of All Time', and why they never won a grammy award?

I grew up in the '70s in Edgeley, not too far from Burnage. Me and my mates would roam far and wide, and Gallagher Country would certainly have been on our itinerary. We used to get beaten up quite regularly. However, once you were 'down', the blows would more or less stop. The sort of OTT violence that's around nowadays wasn't nearly so prevalent back then amongst younger kids. Yet a feeling of background menace was ever present when you stepped out of your 'local area'. And it's that brooding atmosphere of impending Burnage 'bother' that makes the music of Oasis so personally resonant for me. You had to have eyes in the back of your head in '70s Southern Manchester. It was a gloriously unpredictable place to grow up in.
Love both versions, this just sounds much more crisp, in fact just scrap the old tracks and start again from day one, another 20 years of oasis please.

This would have been a better album cover for Be Here Now. It looks cooler and it drips with irony. Oasis were the biggest and most talked about band at the time and no one on the cover is paying attention to them. Liam is also wearing an expensive coat while standing in the projects, a nod to how far they've come from their Definitely Maybe days.
I do pray Oasis reunite. It would be the most biblical thing.
This is brilliant. The strings during the chorus remind me of Noel's solo stuff from 2011 a bit. I also love the alternate version of the single cover photo.
I'm listening to this and I'm 17 again. The layered over production was always so amazing. Noel never appreciated the decadently delicious mess he made. I'm so glad BHN is being reissued.

Love this version but you can't beat the original chaotic mix, it makes the song and everything they were about at that time but heck, if it gets a new generation of listeners on Oasis then that's great, the world still needs them.
One of my favorite memories from college was playing this song at one of my parties and everyone was drunk off their ass and singing along to the chorus.

No. The rest of the album is full of heavy guitars because they were a heavy guitar band, not a pop band. The only reason Noel has done this in retrospective is to try to make it sound more like Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve because he fucking bums off Richard Ashcroft, despite being a better songwriter.

nearly the whole album is completely overproduced, too many guitar layers and at some points you can barely understand the vocals
songs like my big mouth, magic pie, all around the world really need this treatment too

I queued up outside Woolworth's in Notting hill gate waiting for the original to come out on the day the album was released. Where are those days gone. I'm excited about the new version.
