Deiselchevyluv, We upgraded this crawler to a JD 350B about a month after I took the video of the 440. And we are interested in selling this. We listed in on Craigslist in July of 2010 for $6500, but never got any interest. It got a new motor in 2008 along with the finals gone through, spent about $3000 on it then. Its located in central Idaho. Is the location a problem for you? Big Jim
Tom Swank i drill out my final drives with a high up oil fill hole..so they could hold more gear oil..yes..i cant keep the lower bearings in mine for long...but mine is way low on power...and smokes black..i got a new new main clutch ready to put in it...thinking about just overhauling the motor at the same time...rusty mullins...iaeger wva
Would of loved to have this today in Maine with all the snow we just got. Would of made short work of the driveway. Old iron is the best.
If your ever going to sell this dozer let me know cause the john deere 440 is very special to me. Please if you plan on selling it let me know first.

Yes I would be still interested but $6500 seems a bit steep right now.

looks like the jd440 is boarder line useless.....
It's pretty good for skidding fire wood and stacking slash piles. It's only 30hp.
Mountain Man i got one thats a diesel...i have been through it front and back....stll useless!
I had a 440 loader with a GM Deisel in it. Too much motor. Tore out final drives All the time. I can replace one with my eye shut 35 years later
