    Hi Swiftie,
    Can I just say I’ve moved you into my number one teacher spot. I’m 65 been playing for five years. Your teaching has taken me to a new level. Thanks

    Extremely thoughtful of you to focus on one particular example. Makes learning and practice that much more efficient! Knowing all is great but taking it in is a whole different pair of shoes (usually a few sizes too big). Taking one concept at a time, ingraining it into your playing and enriching your playing when you have good control of the concept is imho substantially more beneficial in you overall instrument development.

    I love to use The Pentatonic Minor, Dorian Mixolydian and the Blues Scale like it's all one Scale ⚖ 🎶 🎸 I like to target notes that create Chord extentions and then use Chromatic Runs to Connect the phrases ... That clearly represents how the Difference Between the Modes Can be Heard more easily than it Can be learned by Just Using a different Root note to start on in any Major Scale ⚖

    Great bit of theory. We suffer from a lot of ignorence when it comes to understanding music theory. It's like reading music . None of us can . We can get away with not reading if we know our theory. We cannot ignore it. It's a must to make good music.

    Are what they call the "blue note"?

    • @AdamQwadam
      @AdamQwadam 3 года назад

      No, the major 3rd is not the same as the blue note. The blue note is the b5 (flat 5th), which is located one half step up from the minor 4th interval

  • @jessicajae7777

    Robert Edward Grant says to tune music to 432.126 or rather 1.26 added to 432. Im not sure i 100% understand but he has a video that describes it. I wanted to ask a musical genius. Hes just a math genius. Lol

  • @Phoboss32
    @Phoboss32 3 года назад

    Instead of memorizing the shapes I’d recommend to learn the intervalic functions.

    • @swiftlessons
      @swiftlessons  3 года назад +2

      That’s a good point, but I would add that it’s good to learn both, while also visualizing the chord shapes/arpeggios in their different positions. Of course, none of this will guarantee a descent solo or composition... these concepts are secondary to developing your ear and instincts by consuming tons of good music and experimentation.
