Food Bayana: Penang’s Futuristic Food Hub with Robotic Service

Food Bayana, located in Penang’s Bayan Lepas Industrial Zone, is Malaysia’s first semi-automated food hub.
It showcases innovation in food service through its use of robotic technology. Opened with the collaboration of Penang Development Corporation (PDC) and Pentamaster Corp., this food court features two floors: food stalls on the ground floor and dining spaces on the upper level.
To enhance customer convenience, automated robots deliver food between floors, while designated lockers alert diners via smartphone when their meals are ready for pickup.
Beyond automation, Food Bayana also aims for sustainability, seeking a Green Building Index (GBI) Gold certification, which would make it a pioneer in eco-friendly food court design in Malaysia. It’s part of a larger Bayana project that also includes plans for upscale dining, co-working spaces, and lifestyle amenities, positioning it as a hub for modern urban living
