Absolutely amazing. I worry about the consequences for servers, however it seems the restaurant still had a host. But it's a wonderful and unique idea and execution! Thank you for sharing!!!
That cafe with actual people behind the robots are really brilliant! Especially if it gives opportunity for the disabled to work... I would support that kind of place 200%! 🙌
With employee burn out and turnover rates, the time and expenses of commuting and the increased amount of physical attacks from customer's and other health and safety issues including random workplace violence , some American corporations might want to consider using human employees to operate VR/RC Robotics in key positions or screen monitoring in combination with updated structural design in their business's. What a burger restaurant has been successfully remote operating their drive through order audio positions using out of state call centers for many year's. During the Covid crisis, a McDonald's drive through window attendant was able to appear onscreen in her uniform to take orders by using zoom from her home while she was under quarantine recovering from a bout of Covid . This tech could be adapted and combined with existing systems for operating isolated or dangerous jobs like 24 hour convenience stores, hotel check in clerks, and security monitoring of large industrial parks ,car washs and parking garages. Certain construction companies have been using remote security and even specifically types of heavy equipment operations.
That cafe with the avatar concept is really good outlook for the future for sure. Imagine disabled people who still have special set of skills can get a second chance in what they do best not specifically in restaurant but other things like painting, care , constructions.
That is soooooo cool!!! I especially love the concept of the last restaurant helping people with disabilities continue working. I’ll definitely be checking these places out when we (hopefully) travel to Japan next year.
These are absolutely incredible! What an experience and technology! Hopefully we start getting something like this in the US! Can't wait for my trip to Tokyo!!
I feel like the one of the biggest problems in USA is people are to sensitive to the idea of technology doing a job that a human can do, while Japan embraces the technology, United States of America is in constant fear of any change we will always remain falling behind.
I love when you are standing in front of the three Peppers they were all turned slightly towards you, as if they were interested in what you were doing.
This was an amazing video! I loved it! Another great place to add to my growing list on what to do when tourists can return to Japan. Thank you Shizuka for sharing these incredible places. 😊
4:04 Improve restaurant profits, cleanliness and make it easy to clean, by laminating (gloss) the restaurant paper menu (print new clean ones) in plastic at local stationery shop.
Great implementation of technology, if the robots will be multi-lingual. I don't speak Japanese and have been intimidated by going to Japan alone. I hope DAWN expands to more locations - I would pay a small fee at every establishment to talk to someone that is bi-lingual with English as one of the languages. I can see this as a great gig for people that knows at least two languages to help a guest make an order - imagine a Japanese person going to Rome and taking to someone remotely that can speak Italian and Japanese.
pretty cool, I prefer interacting with an actual person though most of the time, although it's great to see some of them give opportunities for people to work from home, anyways it's Summer time and you know what that means, bbq! Robots are ok, but would rather see more Robata videos!
I would get ice coffee from that cafe I didn't know pepper parlor was a thing but I heard about pepper the robot Dawn Cafe is cool if I was working at one at home it be fun and nice how she mentions disability workers I wish these were in America 🇺🇸 Bring to New Hampshire
Isaac Asimov's "Three Laws of Robotics" A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. So far so good at those cafes. Another fun video!
@@JapanbyFood The fact that the robot is controlled by a persons voice, but the person does it have to have direct contact with the customer. This is a great idea. This is so awesome.
People, which create our and Earth future already made a lot. Maybe come day, when in cafe every where will sit robots and one human will clean empty coffe cups to them...
I would only go there ..unless I do not want any interaction with human being...but don't get me wrong... It is a cool place to be serve by robots.I would love to be there.

I particularly like DAWN cafe. Not that I am against the others but they don't really seem that interesting for me. I'd much rather speak to humans but robots piloted by humans also meets that criteria for me.
the sad thing is if they had robots for disabled people to control in other places they would end up vandalized kidnapped and broken in the first few weeks
Omg I can't wait to have robots helping in the house, and to go to a restaurant where robots are my waiters🥰 But problem is the money to have robots living in your home to help with household stuff☹️ Then much less me waiting for Oklahoma to catch up to this ugh 🙄 they are ways behind especially in the other counties that are not in Oklahoma City, or Tulsa Oklahoma. Those other counties oof smh not prepared😒🙄 I would have to move back to the advanced states for that
Oh great, am I the only thinking first time a karen DEMANDS to speak to the manager because her coffee had soy instead of almond milk skynet takes over?
What do you think of robot cafe concept? Cool or Not cool? 😎
I think the concept is super cool! We are headed towards a tech driven world and that excites me! Great video Shizuka and team.
Cool cool cool
its really cool indeed!

This is why Japan 🇯🇵 is the future, they’re always steps ahead the rest of the world 🌎
Thanks to the time difference, they are ahead of most of the world, apart from a few countries in Oceania.

I love that one cafe is inspired by Blue Bottle Coffee when the founder of Blue Bottle was inspired by Japanese coffee when he started the company.

That is actually the plan! From what we have heard it seems that these robots are already placed at cafes in Europe!
Henn na Cafe seems very interesting. wish to see some episode about specialty coffee in Japan.

*Looks like an introvert's kind of paradise.*
I didn’t know that kind of cafe and restaurants.
As we expand these types of restraints,I feel it is possible to solve many problems we are facing.

Yes, it was lovely to see that the cafe empowers people with disabilities and gives them a chance to work from home! More summer videos coming!
Try opening one of these in Chicago and see what happens.
I want to visit all the cafe
