“Gotta get the clay up there first” you’re a master communicator about what you’re doing ... that’s why you’re the best . 99% of the time an art teacher is lacking in this area . That’s why I follow you on every platform now . I’ve painted for 30 years but still learn to a of stuff from you everyday
Dunno if you guys cares but if you are bored like me during the covid times you can watch all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my brother during the lockdown =)
That's so funny. I spent the afternoon painting too. These helpful videos are great. I was quietly frustrated with the eyes, almost left two pink blank spots. So I painted in some Betty and Veronica eyes and put it away for now.
I love that you demonstrated just that small section. It is hard to see the idea of allowing the shapes and colors to guide you when the tutorials are of an entire portrait or scene. This was extremely helpful.
I just started and I'm an amateur but I did spend a lot of money on paint lol .. I really love how you teach probably better than anybody I've watched on RUclips you're very humble and you don't talk to people like you're the greatest painter in the world even though you're very good thank you
I want to say your awesome. Maybe one day I can show you one. You are a great teacher. I am older than you. If my teachers would have showed me this stuff. So you and my son I am so grateful for. Thank you again.
Thank God! Your method is far more akin to how I work, naturally. I have worried that I am doing it all wrong when I look at other tutorials. It is good to have someone teach in a way that is really relevant to me. I see that I am not doing anything wrong but doubting myself. thank you. I love your videos; they have been quite the discovery..
I totally degree - i really appreciate this method of painting - it can become a lot freeer and more vibrating ( even breathing) - great way and thank you for showing it in Real time because its inspiring to watch the way you use the brush to actually sculpt
In my personal opinion, I think it's more helpful to practice subjects that aren't wearing makeup so that you can learn how to paint skin better. Don't get me wrong, the model's eye is beautiful and you did a phenomenal job on this study, but the eyeshadow makes it hard to guess the subtle hue shifts. Though I suppose that's why you'd paint a man's eye in such cases.
Love your drowing this is what I need exactly all of the artist's just fasting the process and it makes it harder to figure it out and do it .😍😍😍 thanks
Iv been watching your videos lately the way you explain things have helped me alot I used to look at portraits alot different this eye video was awsome .. iv always only used to draw in pencil then decided to do oil painting and I love it ..I have alot to learn but I'm definitely getting better but like you said in another video we're not here to make good paintings where here to make great paintings .. do you have a class or teach personally? I'm interested in learning more if possible .. anyways love the videos you do ttyl
Awesome thx alot! I just painted my first eye, which i was "okay" this looks kinda cool o.O" You know what would be awesome? If you would have a website, where users could upload their try of painting, based on your videos! :) ps: SUBSCRIBED :D
Not toxic I just always get paint on my hands then I have to wash them and then I paint again and I have to wash my hands again and again. The gloves are easy to take off and you know you don't have paint on your hands that could get on your clothes or other places
Do you keep cleaning the brush or pinching the bristles after one or two brush strokes? My paints often gets merged and messy and idk how to get back from there (especially when I'm painting eyes)
If i was required to hold the brush far back on the handle i think i would make too many messes. However i know they make the handles longer for oil paint . What exactly are the advantages to learn this? To hold farther back. Anybody. It might be something i add to my self imposed lessons. I did see for pupil he has held like i hold usually. “The clay” My main take away for my purposes....preferring wet on wet however letting possible good ones dry completely and going over....which to me is like doing another painting of same thing using some medium.....
I’m new to oil so it would have been good to know what colours you mixed together for each part of the eye, it was difficult for me to know so I didn’t actually use this one to learn but it’s a good video! Thanks a lot.
could you explain in more detail? it could be a simple problem where your not applying enough paint on your brush tip, or the paintbrush might be a bit frayed, so it gives a more textured result. Einstein quoted "if at first you dont succeed, try, try again"

Exact words man...
I know I'm late to the party, but I just spent the afternoon fighting with the eyes in a painting. As always, very helpful - thanks!
Youre not alone 😁
Exactly what I wanted to say 😅

Sculpting eyes vs painting, beautiful approach!

Fantástico 👏👏👏👏👏
So cool😀🙌👍🙏🤭😃
Very helpful , amazing , why have u worn gloves , is some pigment toxic here?
Not toxic I just always get paint on my hands then I have to wash them and then I paint again and I have to wash my hands again and again. The gloves are easy to take off and you know you don't have paint on your hands that could get on your clothes or other places

Is that Skully's eye?
I paint this way, but I why does my paint get too thick and caked on.?
my hands are shaking while painting any idea for it.. i cant figue it out
How come my paint smears when i apply the white ti the eye

@@foxylady4163 the paint just bleand instesd of goes on top. Also double check that quote, that wasn’t Einstein
@@spicypepper2429 add more paint on the tip of your brush and less pressure. Oh lol it's an awesome quote anyway.
i wasn’t even close to painting an eye like yours
