When I played in college, we used outs plus one or a variation of it if we thought the runner was on to it. I never thought about using the glove as the signal and the hand as fake signs. I coach my sons in little league. I'm going to use that when they're older. Thanks!
On odd calendar days three signs after the indicator, on even calendar days the indicator is the same number of claps as balls minus strikes, divided by the outs....and must be given before and after the signal sequence. Most importantly, parties need to understand and potentially acknowledge. Nothing like calling a 1st/3rd or bunt coverage and having the centerfielder receiving the throw. We all need to incorporate Chip Kelly sign boards in baseball.
A good sign system is changing it depending on the count. If you're ahead in the count, use the first sign. even in the cound= second sign behind=third sign

Perhaps MLB should have gone about educating younger and up and coming fans (all fans for that matter) on the subtle intricacies of the game that make it fascinating instead of implementing all these rule changes to make the game "faster & more exciting". When you start to understand the chess match and "game-within-the=game", it becomes engrossing. It's such a cool sport. And that's coming from a footballer.

If his left hand (on his stool) was on his knee, it was the call, if off, -1. If he gave Fastball indicator, and left hand was on his knee, it was fastball. Off, +1... Fooled so many teams...

I’ve watched your other videos on the slider and I realized that the problem wasn’t my grip, but that the ball was slipping out of my hand and ending up as a wild pitch. How can I control my slider with small hands ?
Also in important games like the World Series or something tournament, it’s important to change them up every inning or make them more complex. That’s common sense.
I use a wrist coach to call pitches. I have 2 columns 1-16 and 16-32. Each column has 4 actions with pitches, pick offs, coverages etc.....You make a 3 digit number with each, but obviously with 1-9 it would be 2 digits. (column and number over in that column) So a 4-seam FB could be called as several sets of numbers as it is listed several times on the grid. It could be called out loud as 132. (13th line 2 over) OR called as 16 and show 4 fingers while doing all the nose, hat stuff. Catcher sees 164. (16th column 4 over). The best thing about it is I can call a series call. I would say 12 series. Catcher would automatically have the next 4 pitches to call without me calling them. I have 1 column with location as well. Catcher would memorize location numbers. So "change-up in" would be called 234 2. If the other team happened to catch on.....which they never have in 10 years i have been doing it, I simply flip the card in the wrist coach and reverse the columns. My catcher calls everything on defense. It literally takes about 10 minutes to teach. Catchers then can quiz each other, we work it in bullpen sessions as well. I also will throw a number or two at them then wipe it off and call something else to get them quick and efficient on it. I came up with this because I got tired of me and the catchers screwing up hand signs. I also use the "glove call" as an option like the coach here. But having those numbers as a base.....you can do whatever you want.

If the batters number was even, the pitcher only counted every other finger set. If it was odd he’d count every signal.

As a catcher, I don't like my pitcher have to lose his focus on the batter to watch what a runner on second is doing or to worry about timing a pick off throw to the middle infielder, so when I want the pitcher to make a no-look pick-off turn and throw, I will suddenly drop my glove hand down to the ground, timing it so that the pitcher can wheel and throw and get the ball to the middle infielder in bang-bang fashion,
How to a get nasty vertical movement on my slider? Also should I throw my slider for a inside strike so it looks like it may hit them but curves in for a strike? Please respond😀

You skipped a couple. When a pitcher is warming up and has two pitches left, he holds up two fingers, usually the index and little fingers. Before his last warm up throw, to signal the catcher to throw h to second base, the pitcher sweeps his glove hand back over his glove-hand shoulder. That's of course if he doesn't come in to pitch in the middle of the inning with runner(s) on base. Otherwise, great stuff!
i really like calling everything from a call sheet and players have a wristband. The coach locates the play he wants, verbalizes a 3 number code, players reference their wristband to see the call. It makes stealing your signs completely impossible, they can't know what the calls are without the call sheet or wristband.
