I've been a fan of Dan Peterson for about a year. He's done the research I've been too lazy to do. I get to use his work to buttress my opinions! I love it!
The more I study literature and rhetoric, the more I am starting to appreciate the Book of Mormon. I can sympathize with many criticisms, and yet I am finding even more depth, inspiration, and harmony within its pages than ever before. It's not meant to be a riveting page-turner, but there is a power in that book. It has increased my testimony of the Son of God.
I loved the reference about the valet. Moments ago I watched an old _WHAT'S MY LINE?_ and one of the guests was Jackie Gleason's valet. At the end the host asked about the pronunciation. Most people have it wrong, he said. "It's actually pronounced _valet_." (Val-ět) Never heard that before and have no idea if it's true. I've always pronounced it _val-ā_.
Yeah, as was Confucious, Siddartha Gautama and others. They were inspired by God: “Based upon ancient and modern revelation, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gladly teaches and declares the Christian doctrine that all men and women are brothers and sisters, not only by blood relationship from mortal progenitors, but also as literal spirit children of an Eternal Father. “The great religious leaders of the world such as Mohammed, Confucius, and the Reformers, as well as philosophers including Socrates, Plato, and others, received a portion of God’s light. Moral truths were given to them by God to enlighten whole nations and to bring a higher level of understanding to individuals." The Book of Mormon: 2 Nephi 29:12 "For behold, I shall speak unto the Jews and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the Nephites and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the other tribes of the house of Israel, which I have led away, and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto all nations of the earth and they shall write it." Alma 29:8 "For behold, the Lord doth grant unto all nations, of their own nation and tongue, to teach his word, yea, in wisdom, all that he seeth fit that they should have; therefore we see that the Lord doth counsel in wisdom, according to that which is just and true"
It is better to be learned if you can stay humble. Please stay humble like you are brother Peterson. We love you and appreciate what you do!
I listen to Dr. Peterson's lectures over and over . I never tire of hearing him speak again.
This man is a gift to humanity.

Bob Sanders Isn't he amazing? Honestly one the most learned men and best speakers I have ever had the privilege of listening too
Love hearing Dan talk. He slows down it down just a bit, which Hugh Nibley was never able to do.

The power of ............
I am just 10 minutes in and will keep listening; just have to say his words are beautiful, like the yearning he speaks of.

Long live Daniel
That awkward moment when you realize that you haven't yet read "Jesus the Christ."
its a tough read for sure. i tried reading it when I first converted to the church at age 21, but that was a no go. still have not read it
Audiobook it
they have an audiobook of that? if so, is it James E Faust reading it. he wrote it, correct?
It is a terrific read, but I wouldn't try the audio book. It's very rich and I took it very slow and pensive.
Eric Lopez I read it during my mission and loved it. I still love it and have learned a lot from it.
I feel like in his intro he was this close to telling us he has many leather bound books and his office smells of rich mahogany
great,thanks!
I enjoy listening to a well educated man that is fair to both sides. Was Mohammed a true prophet?
wrong answer Nostradamus never profit, lol

He's nothing more than an apologist, Lying for the lord!
M. C. That word doesn’t mean what you think it means.
Your second sentence is false. You cannot document any lie Dan Peterson has said.
CES letter drone lol
If you have ever needed an advocate, to stop the mouths of liars, then you should appreciate the job of an apologist.
