I am for certain technology challenged . I tend to shy away from technology as I don't understand it. However , if we didn't have it today I would never be able to listen to a wonderful speaker such as Dr. Peterson. I will for ever greatful for him for sharing his great knowledge.

The Witnesses never denied their testimony...the followers of Charles Manson never denied their testimony either

Recently a former member in his 50s whose wife recently passed away but was more active told me he could not be active for one main reason. He grew up in Salt Lake City and his family knew and was in Tommy Monsons ward and someone (he can’t answer who) saw him go into a bar with another guy. If the prophet does that how can he be expected to go to church. I asked him if maybe he went in to GET someone or help someone. He didn’t know. I asked where else they “saw him drinking “. No where else. No other incidents.
My guess is this like many ex-Mormons there was a time President Monson as bishop or some other calling didn’t give this guys family a food order or pay their rent for reasons only known to him. Or refused to help because they smoked or something we hear often. It turned into the story of him going into the bar. And he may have. I don’t believe it was to drink. I’m pretty confident that wasn’t likely.

When the opening joke confuses atheism and agnosticism..

An agnostic would not wonder if there is a "dog". An agnostic would argue that a "dog" cannot be known; therefore, why would he/she wonder if it exists. The joke better applies to an atheist of little "faith" in his/her "religion." ;)

It’s an insomniac, an agnostic and a dyslexic that is crossed

I’m not smart enough to catch any of the “jokes” but I love learning about the Book of Mormon. Thank heavens for the gospel that saves all people who come unto Christ, even mental idiots as myself. :)

The mormon gospel does not save you.

gone fishing no kidding! Why do you say this?

    • @tdubs5128

@@dcarts5616 it is not the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a different gospel as warned about in the bible. Mormonism teaches that God hasn't always been God and that He was once a man like us. That is not the God of the Bible. God has always been God from eternity past to eternity future.

@gone fishing that is an interesting opinion. Thank you for informing me.
A quick question... Is that the only thing that makes you think that the Restored Church of Jesus Christ is false? Because we believe in a doctrine that places God as an exalted being, whom created us IN HIS LIKENESS and IMAGE?
Are you saying that if it weren't for that, you'd change your opinion and join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and be baptised for a remission of your sins? (Not that I'm saying that you're a heavy sinner...)

@@dcarts5616 we are all sinners, every single one of us including president Nelson. Not one is righteous. There is only one perfect and that is Jesus Christ and we all fall short of His Glory. I have problems with the truth claims of the lds church.

Even if I was a hundred percent certain what he said is true and factual I would not care. This church is not for me. There are way too many restrictions on my free time, my diet and I don’t like to give 10 percent of my money. Going But With the IRS I have no choice😢. But here I do.
    Hasta vista
Another ex member who does not care about the truth of this church, but is interested in himself for himself. Ie I am selfish s as I feel you should be too.

I’m glad you still try to listen to lds church stuff. It signifies you’re still interested. Just don’t listen to too much of it, you know, since it’s a waste of your time and you have other things to do.
