Dear Krish, thanks for your efforts and sharing your knowledge with us, because of your teachings i became a member of your youtube channel, oneneuron and ineuron services. Regarding this statistics video, at time 22:05 the value obtained from the ztable (0.99111) covers the area from the zscore=2.307(in this example) to the left, therefore 1-0.99111 = 0.00889 cover the area from zscore to the right, therefore pvalue should be 2x0.00889.

Completed all 7 videos and to be honest I learned alot of statistics. But I also learned that even the Data Scientists with so much experience can get the concept of Pvaue wrong so many times. It gives me confidence that it'll all be alright, everyone is constantly learning.

Just one thing, I think at 40:05, there is no need to divide area by 2.
0.9997 is the complete area from left till point 4, so at both the end we have area as 0.0003 and hence the p-value becomes 0.0006.

I think:
The area for the z-score of 2.307 = 0.9828 , which is the area including the confidence interval + left rejection region.
Therefore, the area of the both rejection region of left and right will be equal which is 1-0.9828 = 0.0172. Which means:
Area of left rejection region = 0.0172, Area of right rejection region = 0.0172
The area of the confidence interval will be 1-(2x0.0172) = 0.9656.
The P-Value will be 2x0.0172 = 0.0344.

At 28:10 the p value is not between 2.30 and -2.30 rather the p value is entire left of the distribution

at the timestamp 22.07, we will not divide by 2, the value in z-table gives the area at left of the value so 1-0.99111 will give all the area to left of +2.307(which will include the area to the left of -2.307 too). Therefore no need to half, as the sum of both the areas + 0.9911 will be greater than 1, please notice that 2x0.008899 + 0.9111 = 1.008899, i.e., 0.0088 greater than 1, as we have added the shaded area to the left of mean twice.

Hi, in calculating the P_value it totally confuse me, in first step we are calculating z_Score we got here 2.307 and in descion diagram considered as two tail test which is 2.5% on both sides and @2.5% we have 1.96 value. now while calculating the area under the curve @2.307 we look at 0.98928 which is left side area of 2.307 it also include the other side area as well.
so area right side of 2.307 is 1-0.98298=0.01702, as the curve is symmetrical we should have the same area on left side of -2.307. the total area between -2.307 & +2.307 is 0.98298-0.01702=0.96596.
my confusion here is why are we deviding 0.01702 again as we are calculating @2.5%. can someone address my problem.

I think the area of one side will be 0.00889 and the other one also will be 0.00889 because when we calculate the area by looking in z table we get the left side area so the area 0.99111 is all left side area from point 2.37.

Hi sir loved the entire session but just a small correction to find p-value we need not to add side curvers Z(-2.307)= 0.00889 ,So we can just refer negative values of Z to get entire area out side our C.I intervals
