Comme Notre Dame de Paris en flamme quelques années auparavant, dont la flèche vieille de plusieurs siècles est partie en fumée.
At the beginning of the video it appears that the VIP everyone is waiting for is King George VI of Great Britain, who is the second man deplaning. Only see him briefly so I could be mistaken but FM Montgomery is there so it had to be someone important.
The rehabilitation there would last as much as five to ten years, with a few sped up miracles, such as the abandonment of the Morgenthau Plan in Allied occupied West Germany, the inclusion of West German Berlin to the Marshall Plan for the recovery of western Europe (the eastern lands, with the exception of the brief democratic Czechoslovakia, being frequently denied by Soviet satellite regimes); and obstructive obstacles such as the West Berlin Blockade by the Soviet Union (and instances of East German uprisings that may have hampered reconstruction in East Berlin)
