You colored this just for me. Greetings from Berlin! 👍❤
yes it's for you, thank you very much ;)
@@NASS_0 DANKE
(I was asking if this is the order of appearances. As a Berliner I was hardly recoginising anything)
@Mr.
Closest thing to a time machine!
^^
Most of these people didn´t know that there would be a war in 14 years and many would perish...nice footage as usual.
I would put this film around 1912.
@@luislaplume8261 I think a little earlier, maybe 1902-1905. There are very few automobiles here and the horse and carriage is still the main form of personal street transportation. By 1912 there would have been many more autos.
@@luislaplume8261 Nope, very few automobiles on the streets, mostly horses so I would say this was filmed around 1904-1908
@@bardo0007 If you are a Berliner I will take your word for it. Interestingly my birthplace of Havana,Cuba had the first automobile and trolley in Latin America in 1900 the year my late grandmother was born. She was my mother's mother and was born in the Spanish province of Asturias in March 1900.

Even if the time was so difficult for the working people that it is hard to imagine, the architecture, fashion, art and so on were still as graceful and beautiful as they were in ancient times.
Not comparable with nowadays.
🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
What makes you think life of working people was unbearable? Actually, most lived in reasonable comfort. Unless you meant of course they didn’t have cell phones to watch beautiful life in Berlin circa 1800.
brah Germany had pensions for the old, sick, etc back in like 1870-something. I think it was Bismark that started that. and for reference living in the Land of Freedom (eagle screeches, jets flying), in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty three I've never had a paid sick day, holiday, vacation, or anything of the sort in almost 2 decades of working. fucking pathetic you ask me.
I live in Berlin for many years. I can see some streets here, from which there are only 1, maybe 2 buildings remaining due to the war. And yet because they're there, you now see the whole street as it was. What you also see is how much fuller the city was back then. It has never really recovered from the war. Only now very slowly, but will take many decades and a German economic turnaround to be anything like what it was. Post-war Berlin and post-GDR Berlin has its charms for very different reasons.
I find that it had more charm in the 70s/80s than now, at least in West Berlin. Any modern building and any brand of shops or eateries can now be found anywhere around the world these days...
thank goodness these films exist and we can have a glimpse into life all that time ago. great work with the restoration.

Nass, Another fantastic job! I love this time period of the early 1900's. Because you see Horse and buggy, streetcars and a few motorcars on the road all at the same time! Now where did I hide my time travelling machine! LOL. Thanks for the upload my friend! 😊
thank you very much bro!
Also, hats, and more hats! Everyone including children wore hats.
Great video nass, this is incredible footage, Berlin was so beautiful 👌😀👍

Wuppertal looks so amazing in this video, you can still see some of the industrial charm today but its incomparable. I know every corner from this video and it's just crazy how peaceful, quiet and beautiful everything looks. If cities were like this today, we could actually live in them and not just gasp for air.
Incredible watching this it almost feels like you're there walking alongside them
It's amazing looking at how "recent" this footage looks......I'm 63 and my Grandmother was a baby when this was filmed if 1900.....She would be 124 now if alive.
Então eu acho que tua vó nasceu no final do século XIX
That means your mother and grandmother had children in their 30s. Hardly possible back then.
Thank you for making these video's.
Thx bro!
Back in the day when someone still had to clean the horse droppings off the street. Looks like this was about 1905 to 1910 based on the few autos and motor buses seen.
Spectacular video as usual! Love going back in time

All of these films are amazing. Like watching cctv from the past. These should be shown in schools. Incredible work keep it up.
Berlyn we lost you forever.
Sad but True
Great film and restoration. I notice at 6:06 there seems to be a distinctive German (Berliner?) hat style, with a short brim and sugar-loafy cone on the man on the right's hat. Meanwhile the man on the left is wearing a colourful hunter-style hat, softer, with upturned rear brim and longer front. I like that men in fine suits were wearing fun hats like that out of the woods.
Forgive me if watching your videos is turning me into a hat expert :P Also noticed: man skating on ground at 1:12. And cute girl running on the right at 2:15, I like little flashes of emotion like that.
thank you very much
When I see these old films I am filled with sadness, thinking of the millions of people who would die in the world wars. I wonder what Europe would be like today if the old empires had survived and there had been no wars.
I cant belive how clean and beautiful this city was before so called engineers and doctors comr to do 'cultural enrichment' to it.
What do you mean?@@andreasthiele9835
Todays zeitgeist is dominated by the destructive cultural marxism.
No more social cohesion, no more beautiful architecture...
Ach, klemm dir doch deinen Rassismus.

A treasure trove indeed. Imagine that with these images we can create a Google Maps for Berlin 1900 and navigate through it. And with the Apple Vision Pro coming it's going to be more and more realistic. We can walk or ride through these streets ourselves maybe. What will the future technology bring us? A lot probably.

So sad that Berlin’s beautiful architecture has been destroyed during the Second World War :(
Given the circumstances, it was inevitable.
@@MrDaiseymay Many members of the high command knew the war was lost long before spring 1945, but Hitler's grip was total. He refused to surrender and insisted that Berlin should be defended to the last man - and boy.
