I don’t know of any other amp manufacturer where the designer(s) sit down and describe and explain their products like Victory do - it’s brilliant to see and watch, thank you.
Where's the depth/resonance control? That's an integral control that shouldn't be omitted, of course a presence control is even more important to have if you have to choose between the two. Make the depth control a switch, at least you can change something!!
Huge +1 to this. My MKII showed up today and that little control is absolutely crucial to getting a great clean and crunch sound that match. Only thing I wish it had was a bit more low end punch on gain II.
I got this amp this week. Only played it twice but enjoying it so far in my bedroom. First amp with a shared eq. The clean is amazing and gain 1 feels and sounds really good and so far my favourite.
Testimony to the Kraken is how little you need to EQ it in the studio post recording. The bass focus plus the beautifully dialed mid-range means it sounds pretty epic in the mix untouched. My MkI plus my Jack v4 is enough for me at the moment, but hopefully one day I'll be able to upgrade to the MkII.
At 27:55 throughtout the Presence demonstration there is a sibilance whistling sound with each chug that sounds like nothing other than a microphonic tube. Indeed, this is a high gain monster.
I know i might be in minority, but could we get a demo with something like rock/blusy edge of breakup tones? imagine two rock vibes. SRV//swamy blues vibes cuz it seem to do everything fr
I know this is an old comment at this point but I just got a demo unit to try out on my channel and our band plays a lot of that kind of stuff so I’ll be showing it doing a lot of non-metal stuff. Should be on my channel in a week or so. I have to take it on stage first as I always gig with gear before I review it.
I find myself coming away VERY impressed with the feature set and straightforward usability of this amp! My current favorite clean-to-high-gain amp is the Laney Ironheart, and this VX Mk-II basically incorporates every revision on my "wish list" for what I'd want to see in an Ironheart! The Clean-Gain-I "blend" pot is not something I imagined, but it's legitimately brilliant!
I'm thinking for a Super Kraken mk.2: - Presence and resonance - Two notes built in - Same method for the clean sound, with balance pot (the clean on the original felt a little stiff) - Same reverb as the V4 amp (stunning reverb) - All the old features, too That would be one of the most versatile amps on the market (more so than it already is).
These look absolutely perfect. They have everything I would have added to the amp. This is nuts. At $1600, this is extremely tempting. 50w of Kraken goodness at a seriously competitive price.
Love my MKI and have just been missing a clean channel, I spend almost all my time on Gain I. Was tempted to replace it with a Sherrif, but I’m definitely tempted by this!
Seems like heaven for metal players🤘. Hope that we will see something like sheriff 44 MKII some day too, with two master volume and standard serial fx loop.
I'm very curious about the price! i have a kraken v4 pedal and just love it but it has almost no usable clean sound like the super kraken so the kraken head was never an option for me. the improved clean channel is the most exciting part of the new version for sure! cheers 🎸🎸
It’s $1549, still cheaper than any Mesa product by far. I have the preamp pedal kraken and it’s awesome. I’m close to buying it. The old one can get a really good clean on gain 1. Roll your volume knob back and it’ll get you there.
I got the v4 too, and i love It. To dial a clean sound i use green Channel, roll back the gain at 9 o clock, master at 3 and roll back the volume on the Guitar. It's not pristine clean, but imho Is way more interesting
For those of you that are using this particular model of Victory can you answer a question? Has the effects loop of this model been changed because the loop on the Jack and Duchess models is completely unusable when running reverb and/or delay in the loop, the overdrive channel sounds horrendous, it's like having these pedals through the front of the amp
Great video! :) I'll say though that it was really funny to hear you guys trying to make your way around the words ''Peavey 5150'' hahaha From a marketing perspective I get why, but at the same time, it's not a secret, everyone knows that haha
I'd imagine to set it up with a very clean clean, a loose open heavy gain 1 rhythm drive sound and the gain 2 for my leads. The crunch sound I imagine to achieve with a heavy boost in front of the clean. So if I turn up Gain 1 to 3 o'clock - will the balance also clean the clean channel up or only turn the volume down to match gain 1?
Hey, what would you recommend for some vintage bluesy tones (through a strat and tele) but also some Lukather and that 80s higher gain stuff. Is it the Countess or can Dutchess do that?
Hey, We would say the Jack (used to be called the Countess) is the best shout for this, it's quite a versatile amp. The Duchess will struggle to do heavier gain stuff unless you use pedals. Thanks Victory
@@emdblues I would say the Deputy is more of vintage sound, whereas the Jack(countess) is a little more modern. The Deputy can't get the gain sounds the Jack can get, Thanks Daniel
Love all the new additionnal feature ! Maybe, i'll sell my superkraken for this kraken MK2 ! I was waiting the presence knob, your additionnal presence shift is a very great idea ! the balance pot is a very smart idea too :)
Who are all these people who are flying with amplifiers? 😅 I can imagine that 99% of Kraken users have them at home or in their bedroom studio and that they never are brought on to a plane. Anyways, cool amp, on the Xmas wish list.
Why is it a thing to walk around the names of amps that were used as a springboard in developing new product? It would be at least an honest tribute to those great amps. Kraken brings sounds that originates in Peavey 5150 and Marshall JCM800. Stop walking on eggshells around it. It really bothers me.

Rabea playing the OG heavy riff from the first Kraken video made my day. The new updates look amazing and this is on my Christmas list!
That intro was awesome! Sounded like you should write with Thrice. That would be an excellent collaboration!
This MKII seems like a great revision of the Kraken. Something really great made even better. \m/

Martin Kidd and the Swiss Army Fro strike again!
It legit sounds great
Love it well done Martin
Looking good. Any plans for a Super-Kraken MKII as well?
Love my superkraken!
Would have loved to have midi on board the small one too but I guess there wasn’t enough space left inside?😅
Yes indeed, there was limited space in this tiny amp, so we had to decide what we could fit inside the amp.

Gain 1 on a JVM410H and Gain 2 on a 5150

5150 I would say
Jvm and 5150
Would be great if they could fitted reverb on the amp and made one pedal instead of two

I’m guessing that’s why they all went on sale?
