      Your end result needs to be a rectangular video that you can play on your billboard. Simply recording the virtual L-shape billboard in blender won't help. You'll have to export the rectangle aspect ratio video from blender and wrap it on your billboard.

    Hello! I'm working with a curved LED screen and I want to achieve a similar anamorphic effect. However the viewer will be closer to the screen, around 2 meters away. Thus, I put the camera's focal length at 80 or 100mm, at 2 meters away the camera covers barely half of my screen. The camera would have to be around 5-6 meters away from the screen which is not possible due to the restriction of the gallery space I'm working with.
    The focal length parameter that works best with having the camera 2 meters away from the screen is 30mm. Now I'm wondering if I'm going to achieve the anamorphic effect with those settings. Let me know what you think!

    • @emmaforgues2419
      @emmaforgues2419 Год назад

      I'm also wondering if I need to do the process of flattening the screen, since I already have it's flat dimensions?

    • @CGiJutsu
      @CGiJutsu  Год назад +1

      In a unique situation like that it's ok to vary the focal length as needed, as long as it fully covers the screen. But it's best to not keep the viewer point so close to the screen. Small focal length values might not give you the intended result.

    Hello! I would like to know. Will the process of creating a video be very different from what you described if the screen is hanging over the viewpoint. (the screen also has a curve, but one plane on the wall is vertical to the ceiling, and the second is located along the ceiling and reaches a point above the person) I ran into a problem with setting the camera. Should its settings be very elongated or in 360?

    • @CGiJutsu
      @CGiJutsu  Год назад +1

      Is this screen too close to the viewer? The screen needs to be at a certain considerable distance from the observation point for it to work well. Also the screen orientation you're mentioning sounds like an inverted L rather than the billboard outside curves. I'm not sure about the illusion visuals in that.

      This final render output is for the purpose of playing it on an actual curved billboard screen. If you want to overlay it on a video of a location, that's just camera tracking process and you can directly overlay 3d content on 2d video, instead of this 2d render output

    It's an LED Pillar, so the aspect ratio is 0.875.
    However, it cannot be adjusted any further.
    Should I just leave it at 1.000 ?
    Please answer me. Thank you.

      You can't get a proper result without accurate aspect ratio. Convert ratio to above 1 values. 0.875 : 1 becomes 1 : 1.142.

    Hi! I am not proficient enough in Blender to explain it in more technical terms. But is it possible to make such illusion with a flat screen? Like to create a frame that will help to seem like it’s the end of a screen (artificial depth) and then when object moves beyond it will work like illusion? Will it have the same effect?

    • @lunam3785

      I guess you will still have to look from a certain angle. But will I achieve good results with a flat screen?

      It could be done on a flat screen too. A similar 3d space can be created which is rendered on a 2d flat screen

    Great Video:) on the distorted output video, which will be diplayed on the actual Screen, the lighting effects are missing they only reappear if I put the Key Value from the screen which i unfolded back to zero. Did I do something wrong or is this normal? Because the rendered Anmiation Video which is stretched to create the anamorphic effect is really dark and doesnt highlight the "room" which I created and the product i am trying to display. Would be awesome if someone could help.

    • @CGiJutsu
      @CGiJutsu  Год назад

      I think your lighting seems dim because you didn't plug in the texture into the emission node. Along with diffuse, the same texture needs to be plugged into the emission value as well to give the brightness of a screen.

      I'm not experienced eith the hardware technicalities for setting up the screens, you'll have to do some research. These large billboards are usually made up of a bunch of small panels and you'll hsve to check the pricing of those.

      When modelling the screen, get the dimensions in metres or something similar, instead of pixels. Pixels will help with camera settings, but not screen modelling.

    • @CGiJutsu
      @CGiJutsu  Год назад +1

      This kind of illusion has one viewing angle which is in the diagonal direction of the curved edge. Viewing this from far left or far right will break the illusion, as it gives you the view of only one of the two perpendicular screens.

      Yes in 3dsmax ,I were tested this ones a while ago,and there is a format option in rendering setup where from you can choose and after the render at camera eye proportional aligned measurements by you ,the extracted render video is odd looking I believe ,but if you don't have the projection studio,then design the 3d model building and import the video in material editor,and apply that on the curved building cornered surface,I never reached that far but you can try or I will.

      Is this the distorted looking video recorded from the flat screen? If yes then that's the final step and you can play it on your actual physical curved screen now.
