A great instructional and fun video 👍 you’ve taken the time to get the shots that count when explaining the challenges of this task. V-much looking forward to the second episode… Fab video 👍
Another nicely put together instructional video, Andy. I'm currently restoring my 1972 midget and have pretty much all of the passenger side of the body to weld the panel's onto, so I'm a wee bit away from this task. As always, I look forward to the next exciting instalment of AMGA. Happy 2023.
@@jameswelsh5672 That's great , we might be able to help each other. Apologies to Andy for hijacking your post. I cannot find a way to contact Jimmy directly.
My 4 gears work, but my reverse doesn't. My pops messed it up. I would love to learn how to do just that. Or is that what this video is about? Im just here to learn to fix my midget! Please help.
Yes first thing to go on my midget. My parents laughing at my purchase and me wedging myself between the seat and steering wheel to that stupid little window by the pedals. The amount of times had to get out to let the blood get away from my head. Absolutely shafted by engineers.
Nice vid Andy. This is the first job I attempted on my Sprite 45 years ago. Once installed it took me 3 days to bleed it. With the Eezibleed thing I can do it in ten minutes now. I made up a remote bleed using some brake pipe. I also use a 50/50 mix of automatic transmission fluid and Acetone on rusted parts.
Nice instructional video. Handy. When I tried to add a new bleeder to the slave, the bleeder didn't fit, wrong threads! Maybe for a 1275 engine when I have a 1500, and I wound up draining the whole system onto the floor. Then I got to learn how to bleed solo, yay. Hopefully that remote bleeder does the job!
Always a fun job! I wish I'd had one of them there remote bleeders when I last did this job. otherwise it's a real bleeder to do it on your own. Nice one.
This is a really good video man I just did this on my recently past grandfathers 1970 midget and sm I did differently if you ever have to do the slave again there’s just barely enough room to reach your hand up and around the trans and that frame to get that top bolt in without the notch definitely a little bit more tricky but you can do it now I just have to struggle bleeding it wish me luck
@@AndysMGAdventures the game changer for me was the gunson bleeder. The1500 has a flexible hose that has a high point in the middle and I could not get of a bubble of air in the top. The gunson forced it out.

Happy New Year James my friend ! I wish I had the skillset to weld stuff and do metal work I really do !!
Where are you Jimmy ?. I'm in Lennoxtown with 2 Midgets and a Sprite. All 1275.
@John Corson I'm in Blackridge so about 25 miles away from Lennoxtown.

Lovely!
I think this is my next jib as the clutch is not engaging and I still have fluid in the reservoir.

It could well be just that it needs more of a bleed again. As I had trouble selecting some but not all!
This has brought me back into cold sweats, when I had a Midget, I think I did this job 4 times! 🙃
Hahahaha. It's a right pain in buttocks

I bet the whole time the engineers said "well its called a Midget so what do they expect?"

Check you out making your own remote bleed!!! Good on you sir. Bleeding.... you will see in the next video.... I needed a "Dave"
Well done Andy
I love the leaf that was stuck in your hair after the first trip into the foot well🙂
Looking forward to watching the bleed process 👹
Haha yeah the Mrs spotted that!

Yeah the bleeding was just about tolerable with the remote!!!

I don't miss doing this job !
Thank you for the great video! Again!!
Hey hey no worries Toni! Stay tuned for the bleeding !!!
Great video Andy👍🏼 Could the bolt be shortened instead of cutting the unit? Really interesting video and very helpful 🙏
Shortened is another option to be fair !!!
Great Video!
Don’t suppose you know which cylinder you used, Andy? I want to avoid the ones everyone says fail in no time
I got mine from mgb hive I believe. A Lockheed one if that helps
@@AndysMGAdventures it does, thank you very much
Great video, this is a lot easier job on the 1500 engine,
Ah is it ? You got one of those?
@@AndysMGAdventures yes and have had to change the Slave twice, first one failed. I wish I knew about the extended bleeder.
I've heard horror stories about the build quality. Yeah I'll pop a link to the remote bleeder for those who need it. Complete game changer !
