Cobbled together a run with the wheelchair squad All songs are from Octopath Traveler, in order: For treasure. Decisive Battle. Those who Govern Reason.
For those who don't understand, the Gold Rathian weapons have seemingly as much raw power as the most powerful weapons, better affinity and a lot of poison damage... So people use them a lot.
As an SNS main I must tip my hats to those insane back hops on the roars. That sequence at 5:56 made me want to pick up the phone and call Capcom to ask of them that they nerf you specifically! Well done.
Man, love your runs! I've been playing mostly HH/H/CB since Iceborne came out , but i'm seriously thinking of making more SnS weapons so i can get into it , looks really fun!
Ronan Macquet You need to clutch twice to wound a spot. That’s a lot of risk and time consuming it sometimes is a better choice to not do it all together.
My proposition would be to not buff the claw attack, but to have the last hit of the Perfect Rush wound parts. Have it so it only happens when you time it correctly, maybe.
The strongest combo from this video was the For Treasure> Decisive Battle II and finishing it off with a powerful Those Who Govern Reason. (Octopath music is godlike) Good run, I will never get why people exclaim the SnS was neutered into oblivion when nothing really substantial was lost from its kit.
Capcom: Hey guys, we added a new combo for the Sword and Shield so you don't need to spam the falling bash as much SnS speedrunners: You added a what for the shield and the what now?
1:12 how did you draw into your backhop? also, how are you backhopping so quickly? usually, in order to do a raw backhop, i have to shield first so my character doesn't just turn around and do a shield attack
It is a timing thing, but it is not too hard. For xbox it is RT and slightly after you press RT press back and B(this also has a timing to it, I normally do B and then back). For PS4 press R2 and slightly afterwards press back and circle. The timing on it is weird at first but you will get used to it, just takes some practice. Back hop has better i-frames than a roll so it is useful to learn it. You should have it down after a few minutes. If your shield starts to raise, then you are doing it too slow. It should look like you are going straight into a back hop.
You can backhop from a guard. You hold your guard button then away and circle to backhop. The cool thing is, if you mess it up, you get a guard so it's kinda safe anyway
@@Youtubian392 That's for sure what he's doing, I think I even learned it from watching him. He also performs a few backhops after a roll, with the roll being the triggering action. Not that a roll into backhop is special, it just looks pretty darn neat.
@@Banksi holy shit, didnt know that.. I might consider dabbling with SnS more, what held me back till now is using the tricky backhop, it's not as easy to pull and the foresight slash (LS main here)
Perfect Rush technically does a little more damage but you can't combo out or into it, it's got a timing to nail down and the final attack can launch you somewhere you don't wanna be. Good for when the monster is knocked out or any other lengthy opening but 90% of the time is still either falling bash or strong slashes depending on if you're doing raw or elemental.
Dont listen to these guys. Weak spots are based on efficient value of clutch claw dmg. Usually takes two weapon attacks for sns. Or you can use the clutch claw attack twice before the weapon attack and you'll weaken everytime Takes a little bit of extra time to grapple land those attacks. Though
Not played mhw in a while same with the handheld ones but ain't most monsters weakpoints their head is this one of those ones where the wealpoint is somewhere else like diablos chest?? Also the claw move noticed you done that alot in the beginning is that for a reason does it do alot of damage? Ps I dont have ib yet so I hope i dont sound like I'm being rude just curious
the claw attack wound a spot, the wounded spot function in the same way as a weakpoint, and weakness exploit has been changed to work more one wounded spot, so to get to 100% affinity he had to wound the leg.
Didn't know that also is it most weapons or sns specific also if the head is the weakpiint and you clutch it does it add more damage. Cause in handheld games monsters had damage mitigation etc like 65% damage on certain parts does it add more damage or just more affinity how does the clutch work
Did you change any camera settings to fit your use of the falling bash? Whenever I use it the camera gets all anime and follows me so I lose track of the monsters head and tend to miss. Are you adjusting it as you leap into the air or dis you change a setting to make it move around less? Ps4 btw.
@@MaestroNox Alright cool. I changed the height restriction on the focus cam and now I can get a sorta birds eye view when I fall, so I'd call it a win just because I wouldnt have questioned it if I hadnt looked at one of your runs.
Highest raw possible for a weapon in the game (same as acidic glavenus for example), good affinity and nice white sharpness (no purple with handicraft+5). Also it comes with a good amount of poison which got buffed.
@@MrKrizix No poison works like it always does. The damage doubled in high rank and now the damage in MR has doubled from that. If the monster is resistant to poison, then it will deal less damage per tick and last for less time. The opposite is true against monsters weak to poison. It still does not cause stagger or part damage like blast can. Poison is free damage. Gold Rathian weapons have high attack power, moderately good affinity, great sharpness, and a moderately good poison stat. The reason why Gold Rathian weapons are so popular nothing to do with poison. If you ever heard how much they trashed poison and praised blast like it was a godsend then you know why poison is incidental to this whole case. The Gold Rathian weapons are just very strong; when in the past most weapons with this kind of power have major issues like negative affinity and/or starting with terrible sharpness. The resistance to poison is down-right negligible too. These gold weapons have no such weakness, and that plus their power is exactly why they are so popular. They don't need fixing at all.
Could be improved if capcom balanced weapons in a more consistent way Elders can be slayed in half of that time with bow or bowgun, which is too cheap in my opinion...
Pretty sure the Perfect Rush does indeed finish with the quick grab and then slash, there's no cancelling it. IMO it's for the best, as I'd rather not have S&S just become a rhythm game of endless Perfect Rushes, having Perfect Rush be a strong burst option while Falling Shield Bash remains the reliable DPS workhorse is IMO a good place.
