BART at WRM: Test Truck on Dolly

- Preparations are underway for the preservation of 3 BART legacy cars. A BART Rockwell truck from an A2/B2 car (originally built for A/B cars...and no doubt rotated through dozens of A/B/A2/B2 cars over 50 years) since retired. It was donated to the Western Railway Museum to test out the dolly system that will be used to move 3 complete BART cars from the delivery site (in the museum, but far away) to in front of the carbarn. Then, a third, BART gauge, rail will be used to store the cars inside the carbarn.

@@ATPTransit good to see it’s not just me getting one haha
do we know what car that retired truck came off of?
1872 apparently
The trucks were regularly swapped for maintenance cycles, so it’s been on dozens of cars. But no word on the last car it was on. The retaining ring and cap on the axle (#1872) came later - I noticed they were missing on the truck once it arrived at WRM. I requested and got to pull a complete set from the scrap bin, the day they were decommissioning a B car, which happened to be 1872.
