He clearly didn't grow up with the benefit of a loyal, affectionate support system and good friends like Thor (in fact I think his only real positive relationship until he met Mobius was Frigga, and sadly we all know what happened to her). No wonder he got sick of things.
In Ragnarok, Thor offers him a scrap of affection and that's enough to convince him to destroy their entire homeworld. Because that's how much Loki wants to be loved.

I will forever appreciate the loki shows place in the MCU for not only making the entire franchise exciting again.
