I wonder if not having a high pivot gives riders free speed.. as in, holding on during those compressions and pedal kicks, wouldn't your body weight always give you a free half crank forward?
I have a high-pivot trail bike, and I feel like it takes compressions so much better than a standard bike. The wheel sliding backwards just give you a nice cushion to lay into instead of getting bucked. It just makes the landing more comfortable.

Nowadays downhill tracks suck. You see no rock/ technicall course in between. It's just raw speed. That's the problem when you change the all industry into 29's.
Uh, sorry, but where were the abusive parts? All I saw were pros with decent line choices using their bikes as they were intended to be used.... No tacoed wheels from egregious sideways landings, no snapped headtubes from running directly into trees or rocks, I didn't even see a pedal smack a rock in this video! Basically clickbait.
