    This video shows in detail how I replaced the expansion vessel (10 litre Part #5114692) on my Main Eco 30 Combi boiler. It shows how I replaced the pressure relief valve PRV and the air vent.
    The vessel is also used in other combi-boilers such as Potterton Apollo / Heatmax / Promax Gold. Baxi Duo Tec 33 44 HE and many more.

    You Sir are a “star and a scholar” perfect tutorial. Just completed the task as per video about 30 mins ago. Boiler is up and running just monitoring pressure to check for the drop that I was experiencing Pryor to replacing expansion vessel and prv, so far so good 🤝

      I'm glad to hear you've been successful. If the pressure drops, you could change the schrader valve. If it's not that, it might be a leak at the radiator tails or time for a new vessel. Thanks for your comment and please subscribe.

British videos give only badly explained advice and meant to get you to call a plumber. RUclips should delete these fifteen minutes of fame time wqsters. I thought I should let you know should you wish stop the payment as it sounds as if it went off to Canada! The link in the description should have worked, not sure what happened. Hello Denis O`connor, i was going to send a donation again on Paypal but found i was paying in CAD like the last time so i stopped the transaction. Then i saw i am to recieve a refund on 25 Feb. for more than i sent because the exchange rate of the Canadian Dollar vs £ has improved. Have i stumbled on a high finance way of becoming rich ? I think you are worth your weight in copper. Ha Ha

    Thanks very much. A most excellent and thorough description of the process. That was much more informative and exact than many of the 'heating engineer' videos. I'm just about to do a Main Combi 24 HE, which is similar, but requires the boiler being taken off the wall. Ugh.

      @@dembydish I picked up an expansion vessel and a PRV off ebay for £52 including £8 next day delivery. Despite the Main Combi 24 HE manufacturers manual stating that the boiler had to be taken off the wall to replace the expansion vessel, I managed to remove it via the top of the boiler, with the boiler still on the wall. I had 255mm clearance at the top which was just enough. I sorted out a few other issues, and it's now like a new boiler. Thanks again. Subscribed.

    Thanks. Just replaced my expansion vessel after watching your video. Prices for the part were wild, up to £140, mostly around £65. I got the real "I am" for £37. In and working for 2 days now, took about an hour to complete (lots of phaffing and should I be doing this). Saved myself a few hundred quid. Dam site easier than nursing (normal job).

      It was a Baxi Platium 40. I also repaired the diverter valve some time ago. Replaced the Valve cartridge. Then found it was the motor that was at fault so replaced that. Both were easy and cheap to do. seem to remember about £12 each. Maybe worth a video?

    Hello, thanks for uploading this informative video, I feel I'm almost ready to give it a go myself now. Before I do can you please just forgive me of my lack of basic knowledge clarify one point for me. After re assembly and when filling the boiler with the filling loop the air that is now in the boiler escapes via the automatic air vent which will only allow air to escape and not any water, is this correct?

    • @dembydish
      @dembydish  2 года назад +1

      Hello, yes, if the vent is working properly. I'd also recommend bleeding your radiators too at some point after the system has been fixed to expel any air that may have moved into them over time. I am not a professional plumber so if you run into other problems, please seek professional advice. Let me know how you get along. Good luck and thanks for your comment. Please subscribe.

    Might have just needed a new schrader valve in the existing vessel. 60 pence and a little car tyre valve body removal tool £2. The PRV can only be tested after you have sorted out the Expansion vessel. Also a warning with this boiler. Parts of the manual are just photo copied from the equivalent Baxi manual.....thing is the PCBs are NOT compatible and the wrong part number is printed in the Main manual. Baxi were no help at all sorting out the resulting mess when I bought the wrong PCB.

    How would i release pressure if there is no filter system on my system

  • @kerryramplin8763
    @kerryramplin8763 10 месяцев назад

    My main 30 seems to be losing a bit of water whenever both heat and hot water in use. I.e. heating on and bath running. If i reach into the boiler from the bottom i can feel its wet on the plate. Note the boiler is not losing any pressure so i know its not the rads. Could it be due to the pressure release valve requiring replacement?

    • @dembydish
      @dembydish  10 месяцев назад

      Hello Kerry, it's really just a case of removing the cover to the boiler and observing where the water is coming from. It could be as simple as a leak at a connection which could be tightened up. I'm not really able to diagnose it without looking at it. Water leaking from the pressure relief valve would be on the radiator side of the system and would show some decrease in pressure over time. Best I can do. Thank you for your comment.

      Plan to shut off boiler and shut off all valves to do the job. Would be grateful if you could let me know if this is correct/not correct. Or a better process.
