From GRRM himself:
"A Song of Ice and Fire is told through the eyes of characters who are sometimes hundreds or even thousands of miles apart from one another. Some chapters cover a day, some only an hour; others might span a fortnight, a month, half a year. With such a structure, the narrative cannot be strictly sequential; sometimes important things are happening simultaneously, a thousand leagues apart."
The show adopts the same formula, where in one episode, a storyline may only take place over the course of a day, where someone else's story in the same episode spans a week or so.
Any way, it's been a blast this season watching your reactions!
You are correct about the timeline order. The showrunners confirmed that each of the storylines doesn't go in chronologically with the other plot.
Yes and if people complain about not showing them traveling it's stupid because the reasons we got them before is to flesh out the characters and the character relationships like Jaime and Brienne and arya and her other people and it wouldn't be doing anything showing us arya by herself she is the same person before the trip and after the trip so it wouldn't change anything so we don't need to see it!
Exactly!!
that's what I don't get. for 5 seasons people bitched about the pacing and jot getting pay offs. and now that the shoe is coming up close to the end and there's payoffs left and right people are still crying...
I see so many smart people with great reviews about GoT on RUclips, but then they drop that teleport bullshit "argument", only to be a part of the "meme fever"... it's annoyingly sad!
for 5 seasons it was based off of the books and instep with George RR Martin...the writers went off the grid for season 6 and it paid off being the best season thus far..imo....
I'm actually gonna miss this so much
Thank you for watching! :)
Ditto.
+The Normies yes Suraj is right Daenerys is Jon Snow's aunt because Rhaegar and Daenerys were brother and sister....from what I have seen so far this is how I believe the series will end let me know what your guys think.
+The Normies
1) Daenerys gets her iron throne because Jon Snow isn't really interested about being the king never was and he will leave Winterfell to go to the wall
2) Sansa will get Winterfell
3) Tyrion will unfortunately die because GRR Martin has said the ending is bittersweet
4) Jon, Daenerys and Tyrion are all related and will ride the dragons because one they might all be Targaryens since Tyrion's parents aren't confirmed and also because the fact that all their mothers died during child birth, GRR Martin knows how to leave clues lol.
Also HBO has just revealed Daenerys and Jon Snow's parents for sure but we have no confirmation of Tyrion's on this chart check it out!

Wait, what are you talking about? Are the Normies done making videos?
27:55 In the books the Stark kids are all explicitly magical =)
They're all wargs, most strongly with their direwolves, but also with other animals.
Arya has frequent wolf dreams that are HEAVILY implied to be Nymeria tearing shit up with a massive wolf pack in the Riverlands, and wargs into a nearby cat to allow her to see who she's fighting when she's blinded by the Faceless Men during her training; Rickon has wolf dreams; Jon has wolf dreams where he sees from Ghost's perspective and is explicitly mentioned as an extremely strong but untrained and oblivious skinchanger by a wildling warg who's briefly a POV character; it's heavily implied that Robb instinctively wargs into Greywind (for all of a few minutes...the wolf dies immediately after Robb) after being killed at the Red Wedding; and we ALL know about Bran.
The only Stark child that we don't have either absolute proof or extremely strong suggestions of being a warg is Sansa but that could very well be because Lady dies all of a few chapters into the first book. The other kids also seem to instinctively know that her losing Lady is a much bigger deal than just losing a beloved pet, even if they don't have a logical reason for it. I forget which kid it was, but someone remarked to the effect that they were worried about Sansa's future prospects 'because she lost her wolf' and another Stark kid agreed, which the POV character (either Catelyn or Ned, I forget which) found very strange but didn't have a chance to comment on before more important things came up.
It's one of the reasons that book readers freak out over the direwolf deaths: They're implied in the book to be super, super important to the Starks.
I still think Margaery is the woman in Cersei's prophecy. "...Until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear". The only thing Cersei holds dear are her children. Margaery took Joffery, after Margaery arrived Myrcella was sent away and eventually died, and she took Tommen and became Queen of the Seven Kingdoms (which casted Cersei down to just Queen Mother). And in the end she also took Tommen when he killed himself due to the deaths of many but more importantly Margaery.
Well maybe also what she holds dear is her power! Someone will take that from her
You are right, Margaery is the other woman in the prophecy. A lot of people think it's Dany but there is no way Dany fits in there. Dany will likely not meet Dany, Jamie will strangle her to death.
See, here's the thing, I don't think it was Margaery. I think it is Dany because while Cersei loves her children and Jaime, the thing she loves most is power. She loves taking power. Her main thing is that while she is a loving mother, she wishes most of all she'd been a man to truly honor her family and become the heir. She wouldn't need children to take the thrown, she could've done it herself originally. I think while she does love her children, she loves them partly because of the power she has through them. Margaery took her power, and then gave her even more. So in the end, I think it'll be Dany who takes her at her highest point of power. Either her, or Jon. I mean Jon's beautiful by lot's of people's standards I guess.
Tommen was fucked the second he allowed the church to imprison and torture his wife, brother in law and later his own mother. You can't just hand over your power like that. Remember when Tywin and Jamie were talking about Tyrion's imprisonment? Jamie says "So the lion does concern himself with the opinions of the sheep?" Tywin replies "If another house can seize and hold a member of our house with impunity, we are no longer a house to be feared. That's not an opinion, it's a fact." This isn't just a member of Tommen's house. This is his wife, the Queen, and his mother, the previous Queen. If the church can do as it pleases with Queens, what protects Kings? What protects any nobility? If the church runs shit anyway, do we even need a King? These are questions a King does not want people asking. Regardless of what we as the audience think/know about Cersei, Tommen shouldn't, couldn't and wouldn't have the same perspective/opinion of Cersei. To him she is just his mother and he allowed her to be imprisoned, tortured, starved, beaten and public humiliated. Then after she picked herself back up, he basically sentenced her to death by outlawing Trial by Combat. Fuck Tommen. You can't do that to your own fucking mother. And you can't let that shit happen to your wife. Joffrey was a terrible person/King but he would have never let anyone do all of this to his family and I think that makes him a better King than King Tommen the Weak of House No Balls.
Regarding the whole Petyr finger thing, if you can recall, Petyr finger was the one who started the GAME. Remember how the game started from the death of Jon Arryn, who was killed by his wife and Catlyn's sister ..and you know the story afterwards...
So true he did start it all. That's why it would be really hard for me to believe that he won't plot against Jon
Also, people really seem to dislike Tommen and say he is a bad king and a pussy, etc.
Consider this: Tommen is 13/14 years old. And the examples of leading people/kings he had were awful. (Robert and Joff). Tommen has been the best king out of all the previous 4. He cared about his Queen, he cared about the people and made an alliance with the Sparrow! (Yes we hate the Sparrow) but the Sparrow and Tommen were better for the common folk then all the other people ever were. Tommen was kinda weak, but what do you expect from a 13 year old boy who had a phycopathic brother. Who had to go through the loss of Father(as far as he knows) Brother and Sister. And then saw his wife, sparrow and all other ppl he cares about getting blown up by his mother.
Tommen was good and just, and a better king then anyone has been for years.
THANK you. God, I'm so tired of people hating on a kid who was never raised to be king and who had all of this dumped in his lap for not magically being the best king ever. Remember that scene with Tywin at Joffrey's funeral? Tywin told him to listen to the council he's given. He did. It's not his fault the people around him were all manipulative and pulling him in every direction. That poor kid, and everyone either cheers or laughs at his suicide.
This!
StormWolf Yup, and at one side its understandable, because we saw him ruining his Mother with the faith. But remember that Cersei did awful things and actually everything Tommen did, was what she deserved. It might be hard to see the good side Tommen showed because there are no Major characters among the common kings landing folk. which makes it harder to see what good things he actually did.
I actually think Robert was a great king. He became more drunk and chilled out in his later years, but let's not forget he's the king who won the rebellion and over threw the Targaryans.
Rais Harris Definately true, I might have said it a bit wrong. Indeed as you say, in his later years he was not that good anymore. and these are the years Tommen saw him.
Tommen not only chose his wife. He chose the will of the people. We are made to hate the high sparrow and rightly so, but he speaks for the underclasses.
spoke*
True. It was evident that the general public loved the rule of the Faith.
yeah, because they always showed it from the Lannister perspective, high sparrow seems like the villain when really Cercei did deserve everything she got coming to her.
IDK, i felt like the Sparrow was using his "for the poor" speech as an excuse for sieging power. He was as power hungry as any other character in this show
+03souse which is why I said, rightly so.
Marketa is the smartest of the bunch.
Tommen screwing over Cersei is no reason to 'not blame her' for being cool about his death. It's not like they were mates. They were mother and child. If Cersei really hated Tommen she would never have the mountain stop him from leaving to go to the Sept. All of this was because of the prophecy: "Until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear.". By killing Margaery she thought that she and Tommen were safe but she made a blunder. Now, why was she so emotionless when she saw Tommen dead? Because that little bit of goodness inside her, the one that drove her to burn cities to the ground before someone could take her last boy away from her, died with Tommen.
Sorry, Pat's making no sense.
She really is...They are all great, but she sees things a bit clearer. Suraj and Navi are cool, too.
Cercei totally brought all the chaos in the first place due to her primal animalistic desires. Of course she's not innocent.
I totally agree with you on everything you just said!
And super cute, there all good locking but market damn bruh💛
pat isnt dumb wtf lol he just has a more agressive anti pc way of explaining his things . i dont see the problem
"God is magical as fuck."
I'm so using this at church.
"If Cersei was my mother I would probably be on drugs" - that's some Queen of Thorns level of shade Marketa - please keep that going in Season 8!
I still can't get over how damn good the soundtrack for this season was. Unreal!
I think it's public knowledge that Jon was born in the south. It's a well known story that Ned returned from the war (in the south) with a baby. There is a theory though that Littlefinger intercepted a letter from Lyanna to Brandon telling him everything. Though I think if Littlefinger knew Jon's parentage he would've used it to spark a war between Ned and Robert. Personally I think at most he knows that Rhaegar and Lyanna we're in love but I don't think he knows Jon's parentage
DUDE, CHRIS IS BRILLIANT. LOVE HIM. IF HE HAS A SECONDARY CHANNEL, I NEED. BRO FUNNY AF
Thanks a lot! If you click my face I'm pretty sure it will take you to my second channel.
I agree with the OP man. You are awesome! @Newcents88 By the way bro, it's *G* R.R Martin. :P Not "J." George.
I was getting him an Tolkien mixed up lol. There are no do overs on the Normies if you slip up you slip up.
Haha yeah, that is part of why it's fun to watch your reactions though.
i love your discussion on how much cersei is to blame for tommen's suicide and whether tommen is at fault for laying down the law on his mom.
a lot of food for thought there
This made me realize, Melisandre is in a similar position Jorah Mormont was in: she's banished but at the same she obviously can't abandon Jon.
Plus, we still don't know who cured Shireen of the grayscale. My bet is it was Melisandre, and that's why Stannis trusted her in the first place. Well, Jorah is looking for someone who can cure greyscale... And it just so happens someone we might suspect can cure it is in a similar position to him.
Sooo.... Melisandre and Jorah might be meeting up in season 7?
yeah, victarion in the books had a similar issue with his wrist. a red priest cured it for him. think theyll give that direction to jorah
Alternatively, Jorah could remain in Essos and Kinvara could heal him. Still a nice theory though!
Could be. Maybe the war for the dawn happens in Essos, and not in Westeros. Or maybe it happens in both continents. That's the only reason I can think of for why every important character isn't just going to Westeros now.
^ I don't think I explained that well.
What I mean is that it's a bit suspect that we have this story where Essos was basically a time waster for both Daenerys and Arya and now they're finally going to Westeros. It feels like they're now part of the story in a way they weren't when they were in Essos. That's a suspect writing style, which makes me think GRRM has something more planned for Essos than what we've seen, otherwise there's no payoff for all the stuff that happened there; there's no purpose to it.
We're meant to believe we're just leaving Mereen for instance, and nothing that happened there was important or has any consequences for the rest of the story?
So yeah, if Essos still has a purpose in the story, then it makes sense for Jorah to stay there. If it doesn't, then I'm guessing he's going to Westeros like everyone else.
imagine the conversation jon and bran will have when they meet next season. jon: "wtf bran what have u been doing all this time" bran: "oh i've been hanging out beyond the wall with the three eyed raven, the children of the forest who are now extinct thanks to me, riding horses with benjen who is surprisingly still alive, warging into shit, travelling through time, fightin some white walkers, oh and i found out you're actually a targaryan which means you have a real claim to the throne." jons in for a hell of a story to digest
Arya has changed her face before, when she killed Meryn Trant (The Kings Guard). When she put the Waif's face on the wall she took the other she were when she killed Walder Frey...
Hope she meet up with Nymeria, her wolfpack and the Hound in season 7....
Awesome job Normies Keep up the good work! 13 episodes left... Can't wait for the next books (TWOW & ADOS). Love y'all and will miss your reviews and discussions!
The Cersei coronation scene was one of my favourites of the season, That music was fucking perfect too.
I found you channel when this season first started and have been addicted to all of your videos since! The skits and reactions are simply amazing and all of you guys are hilarious! Got my sub! :)
I think I'm more devastated about not having the normies for game of thrones than the season ending. I'll seriously miss this so much and if you all aren't back for next season it'll be so sad. Please be there. PLEASE!!! This is always so much fun so thank you so much.
I think Arya took a face from the wall. Probably the face that was where she put the Waif's face. Because she couldn't even kill an innocent actress. She isn't going to be going around killing waiters. Also, when wearing a face you also get the body and voice of who that face belonged to, meaning Arya could steal the Mountain's face and turn into him.
I can never get enough of a 60 minute Normies discussion video :~D
I get to learn so many things bout GoT with this videos! Gonna miss it so much ;-; Thanks for everything
first time commenting in this channel but I've been watching you guys since season 6. Your videos are what I always look forward to and your skits are brilliant, beautiful group. Suraj is too funny!!
I hate to be "that guy" but the leader of the White Walkers in the show is the "Night King," not to be confused with the "Night's King," from both show and ASOIAF lore. A lot of people have this wrong (including me only a few weeks ago) and I am trying to clear it up for everyone. Love you guys! It's been a great season!!!
Chris' reaction to PeterFinger had me dying! You guys make me wish more of my friends watched GoT. Great season guys.
Guys! Littlefinger doesn't know about Jon's real parents!
The official story also says that Jon is born in the South, that was what he mentioned.
well that depends. I mean, its Littlefinger. He knows things alot of ppl dont.
+The SJP City He might know who Jon's real parents are, but him knowing that Jon was born in the south does nothing to suggest it and is in no way evidence of it. Jon being born in the south is something that people know regardless of who his parents are.
There is an actual hint that Littlefinger knows, which is his little knowing grin that he makes when Sansa says that Rhaegar kidnapped and raped Lyanna when they're at Lyanna's statue in episode 504. He's noticeably holding his tongue, like he knows it isn't true.
+AWS Vids i know. What im saying is, its Littlefinger, so expect the unexpected. If it was anyone else, id say they wouldnt know. But since its Littlefinger, you may never know. I agree with u, there is no evidence that says he knows who Jons parents are.
I agree, but I would phrase it "Littlefinger strongly suspects." He's certainly clever enough to come to the correct conclusion that Ned would never have cheated on his wife. LF may suspect, but only Bran and Howland Reed know for sure.
"Timey-whimey Wibbley-wobbley" I now see who the true nerds in the room are. Thank you, Chris and Navi.
Hands down the best reactors on RUclips! The Normies should take turns sitting on the Iron Throne (of RUclips Reactors)!
Damn, what's in that popcorn. I like the way they're swearing while eating that "shit".
It started with the dude with the American flag on his chest.
Hilarious.
WOOOW 1 hour long video! Worth waiting for!
Nice Doctor Who reference, Navi! I love it!
Oh that's what that was...
Hahaha yeah! I got all excited and scrolled through the comments to see if anyone else noticed
"Timey wimey": I still miss #11. :(
I loooove David Tennant! 11's pretty good, I'm on season 6 with him right now

The best part of every week ( other than watching Game of Thrones of course) was watching your videos. Amazing skits and quality reactions, what are you guys doing next?
To Mickey's question at 27:30 about how the faces work, I recall that in the scene several years ago when Jaqen gives Arya the coin in case she should ever need to find him again -- Jaqen turns his back on her and when he turns back around he has a completely different face. He didn't put a new face on like putting on a mask, it just appeared. Seems a little inconsistent but it's definitely magic.
I love watching how some of the guys like marketta and bo have gotten so much more comfortable and talkative as the season has progressed
Thank you for all your reactions i love watching them and your discussions! It has made this season even more exciting
Overall this has gotta be my favorite Thrones season yet. Made all the more amazing when I have a Normies reaction video to anticipate after every airing. I hope this group right here stays together till the very end. Let's finish this GoT ride whole Normies!
I've been waiting for this all week and now its here and is about an hour long makes me so happy!!! I can't wait for more reactions (like your TWD videos) and skits! Thank you and love you all
Great discussion! Some sparse considerations:
- Gendry could be legitimized by a royal decree and become a Baratheon, as Stannis was planning to do with Jon. Now that Jaime's unproven bastards are all dead, he would have the strongest claim to the Iron Throne.
- When Arya got back to the Hall of Black and White after killing Meryn Trant, Jaqen drank poison and died. Arya started pulling off his faces, and within the others there was her own face. That could mean that a faceless man can wear someone else's face even if that person is not dead (and I think that at least in the books Arya will end up wearing Tyrion's face to kill Cersei, fulfilling the Valonqar prophecy).
- Another possibility for Arya is to join the Brotherhood, meet up again with the Hound and Melisandre and maybe even assume the role of another famous vengeful character from the books.
- Even though Jon Snow is not Ned's son he is still a bastard, because he was born out of wedlock, so he would not be a Targaryen anyway. Considering he grew up in Winterfell he would still be a Snow, unless he decides otherwise, which is probably not going to happen ("Let me give you some advice bastard. Never forget who you are... Wear it like armor" etc.).
- Littlefinger saying that Jon is "a motherless bastard born in the south" doesn't prove that he knows (even though he probably does). He is motherless because he grew up without a mother, and Ned brought him to Winterfell from the south after Robert's rebellion ("south", in Winterfell, practically means "the rest of the continent").
far out. bummed out this is over for the year. all of you guys please come back for next season! can we get more q and a's or games or something? need more normies on my feed pls thx
Remember Hot Pie's Inn and House of Chicken are on the North South road. On that road going North are The Band with no Banners, the Hound, Brienne and Pod, and Arya. Mel is going south. Nymeria is roaming nearby. Somebody is going to meet.
Thank you for this one hour gift of amazingness
#BringPeterDinklage
Also, God is magical AF

Everywhere I hear people criticizing the show on the timeline of events. I think people should refer to the book A Storm of Swords. Inside Martin wrote a page about the chronology of events in his books told from multiple points of view. He explains that things are happening at different points of time for different people and that some of his chapters may take only a few hours, while others cover months at a time. I think if we took the same attitude with the show and didn't get hung up on how quickly certain events follow others, the show will be less frustrating.
I love how straight foward Pat is "shut up , we hungry" lol
I think Sam is the author of "A Song of Ice and Fire" and we are reading his account of the period.
wouldn't work the way the pov chapters are set up. essentially we are viewing the events from the eyes of the pov character which actually gives us false events like the non kiss between the hound and sansa
George R. R. Martin identity revealed!
Woah you were pretty close, it was Sam and the Archmaester.
--"Whoever Jon's mother had been, Ned must have loved her fiercely, for nothing Catelyn said would persuade him to send the boy away. It was the one thing she could never forgive him. She had come to love her husband with all her heart, but she had never found it in her to love Jon. She might have overlooked a dozen bastards for Ned's sake, so long as they were out of sight. Jon was never out of sight, and as he grew, he looked more like Ned than any of the trueborn sons she bore him. Somehow that made it worse." -- Catelyn Stark
It was no secret that Jon was born in the south. He came home from the war (in the south) with a "bastard of his own".
Let Game of Thrones remind you that global warming is a pressing environmental issue. People have actually waited 6 seasons for Winter to come.
#DroppingKnowledge
Can you guys make a video where each one of you tell what would be your perfect end for the show ? I think it can be interesting ... Anyway thanks for everything, I loved watching your reactions videos and thinking about the story lines, theories and predictions with your discussion videos. I literally became addicted to The Normies this season ! I'll miss you !
12:20-ish, Chris looking at Pat on his phone, looks at the camera and shakes his head like "come on bro" lol
There's actually a theory that Syrio Forel = Jaqen. That would back up Bho's point of view that Jaqen wants to train and protect Arya for his own purposes.
I did just see that!
syrio and jaqen only similarities are that they are bravosi and thats it. one was the bodyguard of the sealord while the other is a faceless man. 2 very different men
+Johnny Vargas yes but Faceless men can be different people....so it's possible.
an hour video of you guys talking about got?!? thank u Jesus 😩😂❤
Lol that Mickey and Navi dating thing was so funny.
I was thinking the same thing about Euron's horn. Imagine Danny runs across his fleet, sends her dragons out, and he immediately takes control of them and turns them against her. I can't help but think that the numbers you see in that very last scene are more than a match for anyone currently in Westros. A shake up while crossing the sea may thin her numbers out so that there's more of a challenge once she makes it to king's landing.
+The Normies Hey dudes, I know I'm watching this in 2017 but I just wanted to clear some shit up. Trust me, I'm an expert on the show, books, lore, everything. Not girl with glasses that claimed to be a book reader who's name I forgot level expert, she don't know shit! Probably the most die hard fan you'll ever meet, though.
1) Dany is most definitely Jon's Aunt. Not cousin, not sister. Dany is Rhaegar's little sister, and Rhaegar is ofc Jon's father. She was put on a boat with Viscerys and shipped across the sea after she was born.
2) Rhaegar didn't TRULY kidnap Lyanna. At least, the vast majority of evidence points to the fact that he did not. Prior to the Tourney at Harrenhall, Rhaegar sung a song which was so sad that it brought Lyanna to tears- Lyanna being a "tough, hardened wolf that was more like a man than a woman," made this incredibly odd to onlookers.
At Harrenhall, after Rhaegar won the jousting tournament, he crowned Lyanna with the Blue Rose Crown, thus naming her "Queen of Love & Beauty" instead of his OWN WIFE. Many believe they were in love, and had met in secret. There's even a theory that The Knight of the Laughing Tree was Lyanna, who participated in the tournament to defend Howland Reeds honor. The Mad King didn't like the Knight, so he sent Rhaegar to find him. Yet, Rhaegar returned and claimed he couldn't find the Knight- but it's theorized that if the Knight was, in fact, Lyanna, that this is where they first "eloped."
Also, there's one detail that many do not realize which actually gives *strong support* to the theory that Rhaegar and Lyanna actually were married: The last remaining members of the Targaryen KINGSGUARD were GUARDING baby Jon. Why would the KINGSGUARD be guarding him, if not for the fact that he was the FUTURE KING? Think about that.
3) People "teleporting" in Game of Thrones isn't teleporting at all. The characters timelines are NOT concurrent. Meaning, we might see Davos taking a massive shit in the woods, the very NEXT scene could be Arya cutting Walder Frey's throat, but that doesn't mean they occurred at the same time. For all we know, while Davos was enjoying his big beefy shit, Arya was also enjoying a big beefy shit while on a boat sailing to Westeros. Yet, we don't NEED to SEE Arya taking a shit, and the next IMPORTANT HAPPENING that occurs in Arya's SEPARATE timeline just happens to be her cutting his throat, a few months or a year AFTER Davo's big beefy shit.
4) Tommen ACTUALLY chose being a GOOD PERSON and DOING THE RIGHT THING over his mother. Margery did sort of help him along the way and make it a more "rewarding" choice, but with this considered, it makes it even more fucked up.
5) Maggie the Frog didn't SAY the part of her prediction about the Valonqar, but it's possible they withheld that for the "shock" factor and to avoid a potentially major spoiler.
6) Faceless Men changing their appearance DEFINITELY has something to do with magic, or some kind of charming. Just because we saw Arya "removing a mask" doesn't mean that she was wearing and actual mask, this was likely just for cinematic effect. The most likely theory that it's a combination of disguise, charm, and magic. In the books, Arya actually has to "believe" she's someone else to really be able to change her appearance, hence the emphasis on being "no one," then the opposing emphasis on being "someone" when she takes on the role of another person. Just because we saw her pulling away a face doesn't mean that it's simply a mask. We all know that wearing a mask looks unnatural, it would need to legit form to your face, they didn't have that kind of technology back then.
Navi's face was so hilarious when Suraj quoted the "is Navi dating Nahid?" comment. Her face just screamed "WTF NO".
Agreed with Suraj that Chris has been a cool presence this season. Hope he's back for season seven! He has cool opinions and is a pretty funny dude.
Also, more Preeti next season! Every time she gave her opinion in this video, I pointed at the screen and said "YES!" aloud. She was totally on point with her opinions.
Awesome season all in all, and I really loved watching you guys!
This has been one awesome journey for me. I will be around for quite sometime!
Newcents88 Cool stuff!
Not gonna lie, when Jon says the enemy brings the storm I immediately thought of Euron first because of that line when he was first introduced lol

Okay i'm Ready
Pats right and that's why he'll sit on the iron throne and defeat Dani, Jon, Cersai , and the white walkers.
remember that The Hound was present when Littlefinger betrayed Ned Stark, and we know he is heading north
I honestly love the pacing with time this season. It makes sense, Jamie and Brienne's travel was long because it included character development and important events. Nothing of importance happened on Jamie's travel from the Twins to KL. It even happens in the very first episode. In the beginning, Jamie and Cersei are in KL, watching Jon Arryn's funeral. We know that it is a month's ride from KL to Winterfell, but a couple minutes later, we see them both in Winterfell. The next episode happens entirely on the Kingsroad. You see, actual important things happened when Ned was going to KL, but nothing did when the Crown was heading to Winterfell. Timelines aren't happeing Simultaneously.
I just wanted to say regarding Mellisandre, both Jon and Davos were scared as soon as she said "so is Shereen's father and mother" responsible for burning Shereen on a pyre and when they realized the company they are in now and how influential she can be, even when she was wrong about Stannis being Azor ahai or even wrong about Jon being the Prince that was promised (coz no one knows who the real Azor ahai could be). My theory is Jon was plain scared that he could turn out doing what ever she says if something got really hopeless because he subconsciously went to her tent before the fight began in winterfell and he was not successfull in ordering Mellisandre to not bring him back if he falls and could not even " control " her from saying all that she said about not serving him and serving only the Lord of Light. He might have realised that he was better off without her because I think Jon has no place in this story after the battle ends and he already shows that he is not comfortable in being alive having brought back from death and I think the story's bitter sweet ending would be Jon dying and everyone appreciating his contribution to saving Humans from total annihilation.
When Littlefinger says that Jon was born in the south, it doesnt mean that littlefinger knows his true parentage. At this point only Bran knows that. In Ned's cover story that Jon is his bastard. He was still born in the south. Ned was away from the North to wage war against the Mad King when he supposedly had his bastard child, Jon.
I didn't expect to have an episode I'd enjoy as much or more than Battle of the Bastards... This was way more than I expected.
Another explanation for the time difference is the fact that in earlier seasons they were still fleshing out character development and relationships. We needed to see the changes in Jaime when he spent all that time with Brienne and we needed to see the changes in Arya to see the things that hardened her during her travels with the Hound.
Love your show reactions and every one looks good. Is everyone friends or related, or married to each other?
(long comment .... you're warned) XD
The finale encapsulated how I wanted this season overall to be.
And I'm not talking about the big epic wide shots or scenery.
I'm talking about time, and patient. Each setting and tone set perfectly and given the right amount of care to it so it will be appreciated and remembered.
Moments like the Kingsmoot and Euron didn't get this kind of attention, and I wanted it so badly.
And moments in Bravos with Arya really felt clearly rushed.
I was happy that the Hound return, but again, I felt his return was handled lazily. Where something happened to him in the span of 20 minutes, and in the next 5 minutes everything is resolved in a not so deep and impactful way.
I know as a TV show they have a limited time to tell the story, it still felt lazy to me sometimes.
This episode is hands down my favorite of this season, the second is the 5th (The Door).
And the third favorite is (Battle of the Bastards) in terms of directing and visuals. Because even though it was maybe the best medieval battle scene put into screen, I still think the writing and set up could've been better, and I think I felt that way because of the journey in this season, which I thought was too bumpy.
I've thought about it, and I think the main reason why I really liked the finale is because they went all out crazy fan fiction (and that's not an insult). Because that plays to the strength of the show sometimes actually.
Is it unfortunate that the deep and methodic writing has kind of (kind of) disappeared? ... For me, yes.
But it is what it is.
I really hope the creators and show writers (D&D) start to treat the next season more like this episode, which is what they did before in the first seasons in my opinion.
Take care of the moments and storylines, set up the tone properly.
My favorite scene in this episode was the Sam scene actually. So many great scenes handled very well by the director.
But that moment was so beautiful in it's simplicity. It wasn't about revenge, not about killing. Just a guy finally getting what he wanted ... knowledge. Something that can actually benefits everyone in this world filled with dumbasses ... like ours. XD
Enjoyed your guys and gals reaction this season. And I will miss them. T_T
Fan fiction like R+L is J... It's finale of the story, there will be no set up, there will be two battles and that's all.
xxdavecz I hope it will be more than just that.
This story, while it borrowed a lot from Tolkien and his fantasy world building.
In the end, it's not just about opposing forces colliding, one being good, while the other being bad.
It always felt that there was more to it ... a lot more.
That's one thing I really appreciated about episode 9, it maintained the core message of the story, in that war is a dirty and bloody event, nothing graceful about it.
And that's why I don't really like the prophecy aspect of the story being actually true.
Because it's not exciting in terms of writing and storytelling.
And to me it has no meaning and kind of undermines the whole message of the story.
A story about people and their ambitions and their weaknesses.
And that's what prophecies are, people realy use them to get what they want, it's not about a savior or a chosen one (or ones).
But we shall see.
It will be because they have no space to do big storylines. It's for show watchers primary, in the books it will be more complex. And i think it will be about the chosen one and it will be Sam, that's my prediction. The main mystery of the story is changing seasons. The battle is only result of this mystery,
xxdavecz
Maybe.
I kinda miss the deeper lessons that used to come out. Like when it was revealed that the whole game was between the two masterminds, Peter Baelish and Varys moving chess pieces. Or the dialogue between Tywin and Arya when she told him anyone can be killed. Or the smart and calculated way Tyrion used to play the game.
14:15 "He's not Varys". Funny you say that because in the books it is actually Varys who uses the little kids to kill Pycelle and Kevan.
I'll miss all these reactions vids. You guys, JVS, Imon Snow, S Kane, Blind Wave, GoT Academy, sesskasays etc... I sometimes looked forward to the reactions more than the show :P
Great discussion! Excited to see whatever hell Cersei has planned. Also yall should watch Mr Robot if you aren't already. Very reaction worthy stuff.
*Mickey?* Is that your name kind sir? (Sorry, I'm still learning you guys' names). First of all, you're my favorite dude. You're awesome! I do need to correct you though. The Faceless Assassins *DO NOT* actually have to acquire people's faces in order to face change. In the books, at least, it is clearly obvious that face changing has way more to do with glamour and telepathy then it does actually wearing a mask. If the skinned faces of dead people was a requirement, how in the world do you think they got all those masks in The Hall of Faces? In fact, for the more powerful assassins, I'd go so far as to say they don't need masks at all. When they "remove their masks," I think that is literally just an effect to make it look cooler. The actual fact is, they simply need to choose to REVEAL themselves in order for people to see through their glamours.
There is a lot of evidence to support this, but I'll just give you a quick example: If having someone's face was required in order to face change, then how is it that *Jaqen H'ghar was wearing Arya's face?* Remember when she went blind after "peeling away" all of his masks, only to see her own face?
Also, we know that Arya actually see's through another assassins disguise in the books, meaning that there are some Faceless Assassins less powerful than others. It is likely Jaqen was so interested in Arya because of her powerful telepathic abilities.
Just one more example of why I think it's telepathy/glamour: in the books when Arya is on a "mission" and in disguise, she starts doubting herself for a moment, only to then notice someone is giving her a weird look. The moment she regains her confidence, the person looks away. Jaqen always puts so much emphasis on being "noone." Perhaps it is imperative that face changers BELIEVE they are noone, or believe they are the person they're disguised as, in order for the glamour & telepathy to fully work.
In other words, it's a mind trick, and while they may utilize masks for weaker assassins and things like that, or trainees, or even to make the whole facade even stronger, if it were as simple as just putting on a mask and pretending to be someone else, they wouldn't need much training/anyone could do it.
I read a fan theory that there is a connection between the lamps in the Citadel being in the intro. It states that Sam is going to be the Maester that ends up chronicling the saga, so they showed the lamps in Oldtown to show that. It also points out the parallels between Sam and Samwise from LOTR, who chronicled the adventures of the Fellowship. There are some similarities between the characters, so it's worth a thought I think.
The big pace difference is just that they don't show he travelling portion of it, while early seasons showed mostly travelling. It's like we are playing Skyrim and finally started using fast travel instead of walking everywhere. Also, my thoughts was the same, different people may be going at a different pace time wise.
New subscriber, love your skits and reaction videos!
Suraj. The reason they kept the younger brother part out of the show was because it would be a spoiler. They did the same with Dany in the House of the Undying in season 2, where they purposely cut out the part of the Red Wedding.
Assume we only see the more important part of trip. When Brienne and Jamie went back to Kings Landing their first trip where they hid, fought, got caught and tortured took several episodes. Once they left Herrenhall the last time, they showed up in Kings Landing in two episodes with no on screen time. Cersi wipes out the Sept on day one. Jamie is at River Run. Jamie comes home. Cersi is being crowned. It took weeks for Jamie to make trip so we know weeks have passed in Kings Landing and Cersi's dress style is the same. Or did he teleport. Got to assume explanation.
Some thoughts
1) Daario would never be accepted as "King" of Mereen he could be Steward at best, and it doesn't make sense for her to marry him and then go to the other side of the world. Mereen is already an ally.
2) LF said "bastard born in the south" because even with the story Ned used Jon was still born in the south. Doesn't necessarily mean TOJ. Though I do think he knows because of the look he gave Sansa when she said Rhaegar kidnapped and raped Lyanna.
3) I have a feeling Howland Reed will make a trip to Winterfell after hearing Jon is King. He has to know.
4) Arya and the Brotherhood are right next to each other (the riverlands), I see a Melisandre/Hound/Arya/Brotherhood reunion happening.
Thanks for the great reactions guys, see you for season 7!
Also Suraj, you and Naveed should do a reaction video for the B v S extended cut. I promise its way better than the theatrical version!
And aside from the valonqar (Valyrian for little brother) prophecy, Jaime is known for slaying mad rulers who play with wildfire.
I gotta say, I love all of you equally. Tho I think Marketta has something really special about her. When she talks, everyone gets silent and listens. And she also seems very intelligent, which shows in how she thinks through a situation. I dont know, but does she/you do somethig with that skill?
Great job on the season. Some final thoughts.
1. Lady Lyanna Mormont should be Jon Snow's P.R. gal or spokesperson from now on.
2. I think the actor who plays (played) Tommen also played a Lannister cousin who was murdered by Lord Carstark back in Season 3 or 2 (which led to Robb executing him). So is he the only actor to die twice on Game of Thrones playing two separate characters?
3. Looks like Tyrion found the sister he always wanted (Cersei was not a nice sister) and Dany found the brother she always wanted (whatisname was a sleazy fellow who got his crown of gold back in Season 1).
4. Episodes 9 and 10 could be stitched together to make an awesome movie.
Have a great off-season.
I'd like to just throw this out there, but (at least in the books), Storms End was also warded by magic according to legend (it was also built by Bran the Builder). I'm not sure if the show ever mentioned this or not, but thought it was an interesting tidbit that could come to play as a "safe place" from the WW's.
The Wall: Only a sworn member of the Night's Watch can fully pass the wall. If someone who's not a "Crow" wants to pass, he needs to have a Crow with him or permission from the Night's Watch to cross.
King in the North: It's tradition that when a bastard takes over a house, the Sigil's color will be reversed... That's one reason why they called him the "White Wolf" because the original Stark banner is a gray wolf on white, now that Jon Snow is king, it should be a white wolf on gray. following this, House Martell's colors should be reversed too.
The thing about the time jumps is that the scenes we used to have with Arya traveling meant more to the story because she was with other characters, or Brienne and Jamie had to have their characters fleshed out! Now if they had Arya alone or little finger alone it would be them alone doing nothing it doesn't move the story along at all and even if we got it before it would feel repetitive!
LOL 06:00 when Marketa gives Chris the look after him saying that siblings could fuck, she was like "are u 4 real?" lmfao 😂😂😂
Littlefinger knowing Jon was born in the south was not meant to be a surprise. Everyone knows he was born in the south. Ned brought him back from the south during Roberts Rebellion, claiming ha had an affair while away.
As for traveling I feel like it varies depending on if it serves the story or not. Jaime and Brienne took a whole season because that was the story, them traveling was most of the plot. Even in season 1 Ned Star got to King's Landing in one episode. This is something they've been doing since the beginning. If there's no need for us to see the person traveling then they won't show it. But if it gives us character development and plot they'll show us.
No one noticed that Ned Stark laid the Arthur Dayne's sword, Dawn, at the foot of the bed. The sword is supposedly forged from a fallen star and could be lightbringer. One of the prophecies of the prince that was promised was that he would be born under a bleeding star.
I see that your Season 1 rewatches were taken down. Is there any chance they could be put back up in some context? I'd love to see you review the other earlier Seasons as well.
My personal theory for Daenerys is - in the event that she doesn't die - she'll be standing in the Iron Throne room, her dragons dead, she'll look at the throne and she'll refuse it. I think it'll hit her that it would never bring her joy to be queen of a land she barely knows. And she'll live out her days with Jorah.
You guys mentioned about how Cersei was trying to be like Tywin, and I think you are onto something. You are wrong about the song being played being the rains of castamere, but I think that comparison is important - the RoC was Tywin's song, a song about what he did to destroy his enemies. We've just had Cersei destroy her enemies to a different song, which I think from a artistic standpoint, is going to be the new theme of Cersei. She always was the one who claimed to be the most similar to Tywin, and in terms of her cruelty, I would agree.
Would be totally wicked if that music became the Mad Queen theme and motifs of it play during Cersei scenes next season as she descends into madness.
***** It isn't a slower version of the Rains of Castamere - It is called Light of the Seven and its melody has completely different notes.
RoC IS Tywin's song. He made it into what it was, and it was used at its best with his involvement, such as with the Red Wedding.
We won't hear RoC anymore because Tywin's gone, and none of his children can actually stand up in his shadow, which has resulted in the 7 Kingdoms falling apart.
The song used for Cersei's coronation is "Hear Me Roar" on the Season 6 soundtrack, which consists of Light of the Seven AND RoC
I saw a RUclips video that pointed out that George RR Martin is and always has been very passionate about making the morals of the GOT universe more nuanced than other stories, like not making all the bad guys just straight-up evil and ugly and shit, suggesting that the white walkers can be reasoned with and probably even built the Wall in the first place. Also, the video points out that Jon doesn't want power and is always forced into it, making it likely that he will be offered the Iron Throne at the end of the story and he will reject it. Meanwhile, Daenerys is power hungry and appears to be good and beautiful, making her a very unpredictable villain.
- But they did chose Jon because of his "blood right", not "democracy": they all think he's Ned Stark's bastard, they have no idea of his true parentage. Maybe if Howland Reed was there he could give them all the facts, but he would still be elected because as far as everyone in that room knows, Jon is the last MALE member of House Stark.
- Regarding "teleporting" Vary, I don't think he went back to Dany... I think Dany picked him up in Dorne, along with the crap ton of extra Dornish and Highgarden ships.
- The whole "being no one/wearing someone else's face" gimmick was never really explained, but if you remember, after Arya killed Merryn "fohcking" Trant and was being punished by "Jaqen", after he drank the poison and died, she started tearing of faces from him and the last one she saw was her own, so, maybe she doesn't need to kill to steal a face...?, but then again, I imagine that some OP level of Faceless Man-ness, one that I seriously doubt Arya acquired in her short time in the House of Black and White.
I dont mind if you guys eat, it wasnt even in my head till you said it lol. I agree the final episode was sooo good and soo rich in plot and action imo. We lost so many but it was soooo satisfying. HAhHAhA S+B=M
In the books, there is someone in Winterfell and in next chapter he's in King's Landing. Show uses the time transportation like the books. Because it's logical, it's not unconsistency that someone took season to transport and other one took only one scene. It's about storytelling. Sometimes there's a story and sometimes there's not. Teleport device is invented by GRRM in his story.
Could the intro and the library have that thing in common because this is also history of Westeros and thus available in the library
you guys are awesome...hope to see you guys soon.
I think the hall of faces is like a face database and every faceless man has the connection to the hall.
