    I was 8 years old in 1977, when Star Wars (Episode IV) came out. I've waited 43 years for Jedi Master Luke Skywalker to have that badass moment. Not "wet behind the ears farmboy" Luke. Not "Grumpy old blue-milk drinking" Luke... But JEDI MASTER, in his prime, Luke Skywalker. I'll admit there were some tears watching this one! Not just because of Luke, either...
    So, don't worry about being emotional about this one, Magy! Those of us that have been on this journey for decades understand! :-)

      That wasn't even Luke in his Prime... he was around 25.... he had so many years to become his prime but my god was he powerful in this video... goes to show that he was what his father could've and should've been...Luke, Leia, and their father Anakin had the same midi-chlorian count (according to Lucas) but they learned and acted the right way plus kept their appendages which their father lost which diminished his power....

      I hope that Mark Hamill is aware of the outpouring of love for Luke that has been unleashed by this sequence. He must have been so heartbroken by the hatchet-job the Disney abortion did on his character and this reaction to seeing Luke as he *should* be can only help show Mark that absolutely no Star Wars fan buys the Mouses travesty.

    Something most people don’t realize is that R2 and Grogu might know each other already. Grogu was training in the Jedi Temple back when Anakin would’ve had R2 with him. Their interaction in this episode may have actually been them having a reunion.

    • @SlTH_LORD
      @SlTH_LORD 3 года назад +22

      @@movieswithmatticus5469 eye roll Statistically someone has to like "The Last Jedi", I suppose, but it's no secret that Rian Johnson's approach to storytelling was to simply "subvert expectations". The movie threw away and completely ignored characterizations and story moments from "The Force Awakens" let alone the original trilogy. Good for you that you like that kind of hack storytelling. The vast majority of people, not to mention longtime fans, expect something better though. "The Mandalorian" is proof that you don't need Rian Johnson's approach to make a good show/movie.
      And no one said anything about remaking ESB. In fact, TFA was lamented as being a rehash of ANH so that's hardly what people are looking for,... be it a fan or a casual movie goer. But to change Luke's character so drastically from the origin we know, while possible, is a long shot and THAT would have been a better story worth telling than what they actually gave us (if they were going in that direction). However, even the actor who plays Luke, Mark Hamill, basically tried to enlighten Rian that Luke wouldn't behave in that manner. The guy should know better than Rian. He's been associated with it through his whole career and has kept abreast of Luke in everything from books to movies to video games to comics. He KNOWS (and IS) Luke Skywalker. Rian had to have his way, though, and piss off a lot of people who loved the franchise to please himself and a much smaller niche audience of people.
      All these fan reaction videos showing how much people love and prefer Luke as portrayed in "The Mandalorian" show that Rian's view was just plain bad for the franchise. I've yet to see a fan reaction that says "OH NO! NOT LUKE SKYWALKER! ANYTHING BUT THAT!". Only SW trolls would bother posting something like that.

Btw, not everyone thought Boba Fett was dead, there was a book that had a short story which envolved "someone" (i don't spoil the name) helping Boba Fett after he escaped from the Sarlacc (in the book he let his jetpack explode and afterwards escaped the now dead Sarlacc heavily burned and with acid all over the armor and himself). It worked because they didn't try to politicize is and all of them were believable in the role. For instance, Gina Carano is an MMA fighter irl.
      It wasn't a case of 90 pound girls beating up very accommodating stuntmen.

      @@DiggitySlice In addiion Katee Sackhoff is also not a slouch, participating in spartan obstacle courses and having a strict dietary and fitness routine. Mercedes (WWE's Sasha Banks, which you may know considering your username) might fall into the 90 pound category but her character had only a short hand-to-hand interaction with Boba Fett which ended in a draw and was mostly using Firearms so even that does not really seem to unrealistic.

    They are making a Luke and Grogu show
    An Ahsoka Tano show
    Mandolorian season 3
    The Book of Boba Fett
    and an Obi-wan Kenobi show set on Tatooine back at the time when Luke would have been a little boy.
    So lots for you to look forward to. Please don't exhaust yourself with Clone Wars and Lucifer. We do all love seeing your reactions, but mainly because you are so happy, excited and fun. If you try to do too much too quickly you will get stressed and tired and it will not be the same. Somewhere in the last 10 minutes of the episode everyone with even a bit of heart cried. Be it when they realized Luke was there, or when they realized he was taking Grogu away from Din. My emotions pendulumed like crazy. Took me a day or two to get my head on right after this episode. My emotional equilibrium was royally messed up. All I can say is Grogu better wind up back with Din in Season 3 at some point. The heartbreak is too much.

It was a perfect ending and a respectful way to throw props to Luke Skywalker after being screwed over by the last three movies under Kathleen Kennedy. Long live the Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau universe. May the force with with them for a long time.

    Wow.... remember how much Mando has changed allready. First he was a lone guy who hated droids and had not much in his life to care about. Now it seems he made his Peace with some Kind of Droids, has Friends and allies and a Child (and the Clan of Two) and he is willing to trust a Jedi and his Droid to take care of his Child because he wants to help him. He is able to become the New Mandelore himself. But on the other Side he lost so much. His Weapons, his HOME!! (The Razor Crest, was his Home his Shelter etc) his Faith/Moral (he grew up in the Way of the Mandalore and did not know that other Mandelorian take of their helmet it must be realy hard to take his Helmet of Infront of others and to take away his son in the same Moment)

    Boba Fett never liked Jabba, Bib Fortuna, any of them. They had the highest paid contracts that’s why he worked for them on occasion. Boba Fett had a high price on his honor, part of the reason he hunted Han Solo to the end of the galaxy is because honor dictated that he fulfill his contract.
    I see this as Boba wiping the last of Jabba’s filth out and installing a different kind of syndicate in its place. Just such a great episode.
    And Great Reaction

    Just think about Luke and R2 sharing their stories about Yoda and everyone that Grogu missed since the Prequels.
    Luke: "I knew a great Jedi Master. He was a friend and very wise."
    R2: "He beat me with a stick."
    The Force Ghosts watching.
    Yoda: "Remember that, I did."
    Obi-Wan: "Well done Luke."
    Anakin: "That's my boy."

  • @oscarexcan
    @oscarexcan 3 года назад

    You got emotional and surprised when you saw that was Luke, you just saw the original trilogy a few weeks ago, now imagine for all of us, the old fans of this franchise that saw these movies when they premiered at theaters! For us yes, there’s been the prequel trilogy and the sequel trilogy, but when it comes to the characters of the original trilogy, it’s been at least 38 years since we saw them in a movie, for us it’s the coming back of the young Jedi Luke since 1983!!!
    And actually it’s also part of what happened with Boba Fett the few episodes back, that’s why this show, The Mandalorian, has become one of the favorites from all of the franchise. And yes, there’s gonna be a third season for The Mandalorian!
    Now, you guessed R2 and Grogu could become friends... no, actually THEY ALREADY were friends! Remember Grogu was a padawan before the rise of the empire, he’s 50 years old, he’s older than Luke, and he was one of the young padawans at the Jedi Temple, aplace R2 used to be, since he was at service for Anakin and Obi-Wan, so R2 knew the padawans. In fact you see Grogu doesn’t want to leave Mando, but when he sees R2 he let go Mando’s leg and went to see R2, and he got excited to see him, you can guess what R2 is saying is that he’s happy to see he’s alive, since Anakin killed the padawans he found at the temple, and of course you see him having something’s been said to Grogu, we can guess he’s explaining him who Luke is: the last Jedi, the one that defeated Palpatine and Vader, and that he is the best, almost only one that could be the one to train and protect him, since we see that after what R2 said, Grogu turned to Luke and opened his arms waiting for him to take him to carry up, ready to go with him.

    You never have to say sorry for being emotional. I am a 50 year old guy and I cried. We finally got to see Luke in his prime and strong not like what we saw many years later in the newest movies. This series brought back my childhood love for Star Wars and even if it sucks the rest of the way on we still got this moment I am ok with that. Something tells me season three will be awesome also but I am not sure anything can top this season. The bar was set super high.
