      There are no ancient Redwoods in the western cape, They are from the USA.

    Just found your channel - watched this and the de Hoop video. Really awesome, thanks so much, looking forward to the next one. We have a house a bit lower down the Duiwenhoks River at Vermaaklikheid, another gem of the Western Cape.

    What time of the year were you there???

      We have been there at various times of the year. This trip was in September. The weather was warm enough to swim but not too hot.

    If I wanted to see ancient Redwood Forests I'd visit the USA. If they are in South Africa I have serious doubts if they are ancient. In Africa I want to see African Forests.

      The old colonial government tested redwoods in the area, so the Grove is a 100 years old. The rest of the forest is virgin Afromontanr forests, the largest remaining patch west of George.
