My dad is gone now but I remember when I was about 20 years old, we went fishing for the last time together. He took me to a friend’s private pond and we caught big shellcrackers like you were catching one after another. Nice video and I just found another fishing channel to watch.

@@SlicksOutdoors thanks for watching Slick. I do a lot of Creek Wading for Smallmouth here, but love getting into big Gills in Lakes & Retention Ponds (we have lots of those everywhere). Largemouth are everywhere here. Crappie & Catfish when I can... but I'm still not very good at consistently catching those Species! What's your biggest Redear, Gill, & Crappie?
My Redear and Bluegill are around 14 ounces and I can’t seem to break the 3 pound mark on crappie. Consistency doesn’t seem to be easy for me either. Keep on pressing record!!!
I almost had as much fun watching as you did catching - almost.

I almost exclusively fish with crickets. Just hate the mess of worms. Cole and Jay live just down the lake about a quarter mile from me. They are awesome at what they do.

I sure can't wait to retire and move back to Arkansas. I miss the fishing and hunting so bad. there was a lake full of stumps I mean one every 15 feet. Corps flooded a valley to make the lake. it think it was Leola something like that, lots of blue gill. it was near Rolla were we lived. that's 13 miles outside Malvern.

I am in central Arkansas. Lake Conway is the name of it. I live right on it. We are having a draw down right now to remove the mechanical damage and replace it with a spillway. Project is supposed to last for 5 years so it will be a minute before I can get back at the Redear like this again. Maybe our paths will cross somewhere though. Thank you for watching Bud.

Crickets work well on a small jig. Caught some big bluegills that way

Ronald Towe yes I probably do prefer the long shank. It seems they are easier to remove without the use of pliers.

That is a Shakespeare micro series 4.5 foot rod with a Zebco Dock Demond. She will absolutely believe you on this one. Lol

Charlie, I was on Lake Conway in central Arkansas. Size 6 Carlisle hooks and 6# test line. I am trying to remember to include all that information in my future videos.

That is the Pierce Creek access I think. I would go farther east on Hwy 89 and take Clinton rd. north to Adams Lake or Palarm Creek access. Pads are terrible this time of year almost everywhere on the lake.

Sorry about that bud. I am using a 4’6” ultralight rod with I think a 20 series Zebco Dock Demon reel. The reel has bit the dust since I filmed this video but I sure did love that thing. Had it spooled with 6# Mr. Crappie high-vis line and a Mustad #6 Carlisle hook. I hope this helps and thank you for watching.
