@@retrogamerz2390the neck thingy isnt a meme at all haha. I've been screaming for 13 years and you'll notice some neck position actually makes u sound good or bad (sometimes its itchy, sometimes its not, you need to find the right neck placement)
The diaphragm is the centre of all vocalist's power, clean or metal. As Katie said, it will still take time and practice for you to learn how to scream without hurting your throat. When you Do hurt your throat (it happens to us all) please take the time to rest and let it heal properly before trying again, & learn from your mistakes.
yeah when your throat is sore (it will happen) don't force it. i practiced hours everyday as a teen and on top of making 0 progress, it took months to get back to normal after stopping
Learned this from beatboxing, used to have it developed too until I stopped for a while and tried to metal scream at a friend funnily and proceeded to die coughing 😂
Yeah as a teenager i felt confused and lost whenever I tried to do it, and then when I tried to take it a little more seriously, I started trying vocal warmups before screaming. That helped a little, but it still was inconsistent and never felt like I *got* it. Then, a few years ago I decided to just do vocal warmups every day, regardless of if i was gonna scream. And *that* was what reeeeeally helped me improve and understand my voice. Doing warmups, focusing on breath support and having no tension in my throat, and focusing on screaming fundamental techniques like basic false cord and basic fry scream all helped my voice immensely. My singing and screaming today compared to just a few years ago is like, night and day. And honestly, it’s WAY more fun now 😂 Singing and screaming has always been enjoyable and releases dopamine or whatever, but screaming along to a song with deliberate technique and thought is so much more gratifying than just winging it and wearing out your voice in one song.

Interesting. The scream techniques are quite similar to Mongolian throat singing techniques. From my point of view throat singing techniques are more complex, since there are different styles of throat singing and different styles of so called "whistles". Overall both techniques focus on the right breathing and positioning of both tonque, and vocalis muscles.
I was very surprised at how similar it is, yet they both sound so insanely different. If i could growl I would try to combine it with my throat singing.
