My favorite thumbnail so far. Thank you for reminding me about Clairo, for a year I've struggling to recall the song "Drown" and now I've finally remembered it.
I loved hearing your thoughts on the record! I've been having a great time with it too, it's definitely one of my favorites of the year so far. I agree with your take on movies and music nowadays; I think art in general isn't something that should be confined to this idea of studying the boundary-pushing achievements of the classics or exclusively listening to the new stuff to tap into fresher discussion, but rather something that we should appreciate in both senses. We should check out the hallmark classics to gain a well-founded historical perspective AND listen to new music to support its constant innovation, advancement, reinvention, and imagination. I hate hearing people say that music these days isn't great anymore, oftentimes there's so many biases informing these statements that the speaker is entirely unaware of! 30 years from now we'll be looking back at the stuff released today the same way we look back at the 90s. Have a wonderful day and thank you for the video! :)
I'm glad to see that one of my favorite creators is making a review on one of my favorite albums of the year! Also if you're having issues with your air conditioner, try cleaning out the evaporator and condenser coils in your home AC box. There's a foam cleaner that you can get for this exact purpose at Walmart (I think), and all you have to do is spray the coils (basically the metal parts that lines the walls and inside of the air conditioner) to the best of your ability and let it sit for around 15 to 30 minutes. Afterwards, get a water hose and vigorously rinse off all of the cleaner that you put on. It may not seem like much, but getting off all of the crap that's been accumulating on your AC for the past few years makes SUCH a massive difference, its insane. Hopefully you find this helpful :)
AVAA! We do get everything now, don't we? I really love the message both in this video and what you've said about the Lemontwigs as well. New artists, even when they pull from the past, can make truly great work.
Hi Prof, this is a comment long time coming. I've been a viewer ever since you reviewed King Krule's 'Man Alive!' and have been a big fan since. I even minor in French! An added plus when I need something in the background that's not English. Thank you for these "lower viewed" videos; they are the ones that I can relate to most. I wanted to say that I really like your content and you give me a great catalogue of references (music and otherwise) to dig up and broaden my view on 'pop' culture. You speak a bit like a 'flanneur' but make sure to drive your point through when you get there; that's something I can learn from you.
AVAA. I haven't been this excited by a new release in a long time. It's definetely my favorite album of the year so far. It would already be excellent just from the brilliant production, but the songs at the core are so good as well. Stunning melodies. I'm really glad to hear your thoughts on this one. I absolutely agree with everything you said, and I'm going to check out this Holy Hive record you suggested. If it's just a fraction of how good this album is, it's going to be worth it.
AVAA :) Thanks to this review I've discovered an awesome new album! I highly recommend the music video she put out for "Juna" as well (featuring WWE style wrestling, of course!).
AVAA professor. This is my first clairo album and loved how fuzzy and warm it felt Also i REALLY hope you review common and pete rock's "the auditorium". I think it's the first great postmodern rap album with all the ways common recontextualizes iconic rap bars from the past
Float back to you was amazing! And one of so many albums slept on in 2020!! Rose in the dark by Cleo sol is another one. When I'm in your arms is my favourite song of all time
The 'good ol' days' were never objectively more good in a bigger sense. We were just younger. The skill to growing wise and not just old is finding your younger eyes and ears over and over and over again. AVAA
AVAA, its funny you have jack antonoff fatiuge because he produced Clairo's last album Sling! and I think its the best album he's ever produced, very much working with a live orchestra /studio musians, in particualr the strings and flute on that album are beautiful, the album is even more tender and intimate and my favourite from her, you should give it a listen!
Rod wave is a rapper/singer I think you would be very interested in reviewing. “African Americans’ depressive occurrences are more disabling, persistent and resistant to treatment than those experienced by whites,” according to the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities. Depression affects more than 17 million Americans each year and makes matters worse for Black men. Mental health is something that affects many people, but the discussion around mental health especially in the Black community is limited. Whether it’s intentional or not Wave is starting up conversations around mental health in the Black community. #Video5AskingForRodWave AVAA
AVAA great review of such a stunning album ❤️✨ have you listened to raveenas new album? it’s called, “where butterflies go in the rain” i think you’d enjoy it!!
I don’t get the point on electronic drums. I get it to emphasize how real and soulful the production on this album is, but you literally contradict yourself saying this here, and for example praising mk.gees work where his live set is literally electronic drums. It’s about artist, and usage of the equipment, not the equipment itself and if it’s an acoustic set or not. I love hearing electronic toms. Do I therefore listen to bad music?
AVAA. Very interesting, never thought I'd see a Clairo album here. A few years ago I decided not to listen to her records due to her dad being some big coca cola exec but I think I'll give this one a try.
maybe one of the best thumbnails ever designed
Awesome thumbnail as always.
W thumbnail
My favorite thumbnail so far. Thank you for reminding me about Clairo, for a year I've struggling to recall the song "Drown" and now I've finally remembered it.
I can see this being my comfort album this summer. It’s pleasant on the ears, vaguely nostalgic, and makes Clairo more endearing than she already is.
I wish my professor listened to Clairo and Mach Hommy and Jpegmafia😔

Excellent thumbnail and analysis! Thanks for the video as usual.
You are in your modeling bag here, I see. I blame Meg... #HotProffessorSummer
AVAA! I had generally positive feelings towards Clairo before, mostly from bigger singles, but this album really drew me in and I like it quite a bit.

AVAA. Very interesting, never thought I'd see a Clairo album here. A few years ago I decided not to listen to her records due to her dad being some big coca cola exec but I think I'll give this one a try.
