I cannot wait to get my first 3d printer! Your workspace looks like a joy to use. I use the dinette in my rv but i have to put everything away when I'm done. Can't eat dinner on top of plane parts lol.
Thanks for this. I got my wing tip sliced off in an accident and I replaced it with a 3d printed one. It works kind of, but I can't fly above 140kph since i get too much roll because of the different wing profile (only replaced one). I might try your solution. By the way, how do you like the dolphin compared to the scimitar? I have a broken dolphin and am thinking about getting a new foam but also about printing the scimitar - which one launches easier? That was my main issue with the dolphin, that I couldn't get it to launch (maybe 20-30% success rate). Otherwise it flew beautifully and fast. Is scimitar better or worse? I'd like to try a 3d printed wing, but if it crashes often on launch and is generally worse than the dolphin, then there is no point...
I like my Dolphin the best out of all of my planes. Both my Dolphin and my Scimitar launch effortlessly. The reason I like my Dolphin better is the fly times are much longer(hold a bigger battery) and I can mount my 360 camera to it. Now..... If i had another DJI O3 Air unit i could keep on the Scimitar I would bring them both with me.
@@JeffDoesThis I love the dolphin too, it's certainly the best wing I've seen, but it's a hassle to launch for me (I launch by the wing which often induces unwanted yaw/roll, I cut myself when launching by the bottom). Also, I want to try something new, but the dolphin is just so cool otherwise. How long are the flight times for you? I have the dolphin and the heewing t1 ranger. Dolphin can fly 10-15min on a 6s1000mah drone lipo or 40-50min (and around 45km round) on a 6s3000mah liion. Ranger can fly around 40-50min and 40-45km round on a 3s4200mah liion. I'd expect the scimitar to be similar, is it that much worse?
Well I fly my Dolphin on a ZOHD 5000mah Li-ion and I fly my planes pretty hard. I am pulling like 10 amps the whole time I am flying so I think I get around 30 minutes or so. The Scimitar, i use a 2000 lipo and only get like 10 minutes. Again, I have to transfer my O3 air unit from plane to plane so I just leave it on what I am flying the most at that time. Typically, when I crash my Dolphin (I am on my 3rd fuselage) I switch over to 3D printed planes and fly them until I fix the Dolphin. If I could mount my 360 camera on the Scimitar I would make more videos with it but if you can't see the plane in the video it can get boring for the audience.
Did you notice any difference in turns or tip stall, with the tips pointing up ?? If you like the Dolphin, you'll be in love with the Penguin. 6S and 1800kv turns it into a Beast... Enjoy. Subbed.
This part was fun! 8:40
tell us the truth, you got a little pee in your pants :D

You got to make what you can work. I wish I would have bought a 3D printer years ago. They are an essential tool like a screw drive if you ask me.

A razor saw does a much better cut on foam
7:40 elbows should not be bent like that.!
That's called style points
