Howdy, I just found you here on youTube and I am so happy that I did. Outstanding job on the video BTW, my family and friends and I are heading to Fredricksburg tomorrow and we are looking forward to it. I have subscribed to your channel so that I will get notified whenever you upload a new video. I have a youtube channel in reference to Germany and I post a new video every week. Pre-COVID I would travel to Germany but now it has over 20 months since I had filmed in Germany. However, I will be on the next plane out when the EU lets international travel commence :). Thanks again for the great video.
Great video you guys. I love Fredericksburg. I spent a good amount of my childhood in the late eighties and only keep good memories. Really admire how you presented this cozy little Texas german town to the world. Well done!!
I really enjoyed your video. I have been to Texas before but never spent much time there. I will be spending next week in Dallas and Fredericksburg. Thanks so much for sharing. :).
Thanks for the part about the WW2 museum . Going to visit the Kerrville area this May, I hope , will make sure I dedicate enough time to experience the whole thing.
I love Fredericksburg and the entire Hill Country area! There's another good winery just south of Fredericksburg called Augusta Vin that is worth your time next time you're in the area. Some other state parks to visit are Garner, Lost Maples, and Hill Country State Natural Area. Several great rivers like the Medina and Frio are worth your time to float on & swim the day away.
Hello Preston & Krista I just finished watching your video great job I enjoyed it very much . By the way I’m from Fredricksburge I have lived here 15 years . You need to come back for a few more days you only discovered about a 1/3 of the area . Thanks for a great video
Hi Randy, thank you so much for checking out our video and for sharing your kind words with us! As someone who lives in Fredericksburg, we absolutely agree with you that we barely scratched the surface on what the lovely town has to offer. We hope we get the chance to visit again in the future! Thanks again taking the time to watch and share your comment with us! :)
What you missed, that nobody who knows the area ever would: Fredericksburg is famous for peaches, especially since it's where 40% of all peaches are grown in Texas. To go to Fredericksburg and ignore their peaches is sacrilege. Not sure when you were there, but if it were in March of 2019, then, yes, there was an unexpected cold front that came through at that time, and nearly killed the peach crop. On the other hand, March is peach blossom season. Anyway, it's beyond bizarre to overlook Fredericksburg's most famous crop. Raspberry chipotle sauce was invented in Fredericksburg at Fischer and Wieser, which started as a peach orchard. It's worth a visit to their main store and former peach stand, Das Peach Haus. Bonus: They have a restaurant and teach cooking classes as well. Totally weird to ignore that, too. The former Main Street Buick dealership is a serious old school throwback. It has the original 30s Buick sign outside, and classic cars inside. It would have taken only a few minutes to get a look at it. Plus, you didn't go to even one of the biergartens--in Texas' most German town? Really? The food may be meh at some of them, but the beer selection is unusually good for a town that size.
Hi William, thanks so much for checking out our video for your upcoming visit! We've never been to KY, so if you have any recs or suggestions for things to see, eat or do, we'd love to know your thoughts! Hope you have a fun time at the wedding in Fredericksburg and safe travels! :)
You must calendar at least 2 days for the Nimitz Museum and exhibits. I am fortunate that my sister-in-law and her husband (a FB native) have a former B&B south on Hwy 16. Obviously, I really (REALLY) like my in-laws. Visit FB more than once! The Alstadt Brewery east of town is a must for the best beer in the country. There is so much to see and do in FB. If you don't love FB, I'll buy you a beer of your choice.
Enjoyed your video very much 😊Researching to stay in Fredericksburg for the 2024 Solar Eclipse which has a totality of greater than four minutes (4:25) ☀️
So, it would be better to call it the Metroplex, not the greater Dallas area. I know it’s kind of correct, but Metroplex is the proper name/noun for the area. So this video is GREAT! From home (Pittsburg, Tx), we are headed to San Antonio then Austin, and ending in the Metroplex, Friday (11/29/19). We might rearrange our trip and hit Fredericksburg. Maybe skip Austin and or Dallas.
Hi Erikk, Thanks for sharing this information! This was the first time we came across the name "Metroplex" in association with the greater Dallas Area, despite our preliminary research to the area beforehand. Due in part to your comment, just learned what a conurbation means as well too! It's always great to learn new things and now we do thanks to you! If you've never been to Fredericksburg, then we would highly recommend even just a short pit stop, if that's all your'e able to squeeze in your trip before you head back home to Pittsburg. If you do end up visiting, please let us know and also would love to hear whether you come across any of the famous holiday lights and decorations that are put up for the winter season. :)
Hey homie can you tell me what you didn’t like? I’m trying to do a weekend getaway because I haven’t left the house for anything besides food in nearly 4 months and I’m going nuts. I want to avoid a mistake of spending a whole weekend here if it’s not fun.
Fredericksburg is definitely not your typical tourist destination. Unless you enjoy the history of the area and other specific interests.. otherwise.. just stop by for a nice meal and short walk through main street... ☺️
Just came from a weekend getaway and well downtown was soooo packed! People weren’t wearing mask. For the most part every restaurant had rude employees. Winery’s were super spread out (too much driving) as well nothing but trumpets. Sorry but it’s a no for me.

My fiance & I are visiting for our birthdays this July
Are those focus aids good? Are they for alcohol hangover?

Is that a sundown town
Lol I feel scammed. I decided to visit Fredericksburg myself after this and was pretty bored 🤦 they do have the best peaches I've ever had though
Oh no. Sorry you felt like that! At least the peaches were great right? Thank you for watching!

Yes, it is the best place for wine is Texas.... however that is like saying that Maine has great BBQ. Sorry the wine is average at best.
