  • Bake with me. This morning I bake delicious sourdough biscuits from scratch. They are the perfect amount of flakiness to fluffiness. Slather them with butter or jam, and they won't disappoint.

    I have viewed too many sour dough biscuit recipes and tried them as well. This was too easy to be perfect. Guess what…..it was way easier than what I was doing and absolutely gorgeous, large, and impressive 😊
    This is the only sour dough biscuit recipe I am retaining. Thank you!

    I just started working with sourdough, and I love videos in this format. So many tutorials are 20 minutes long and I just don’t have that kind of time to devote to watching each video. Thanks for the quick, easy, mom-friendly overnight recipe!

      I’ve discovered that I can charge my starter with kefir or kombucha, but it can use-up a as lot of the gluten. Just renew the loaf with some new flour.

    I've been baking bread products for over 50 years, but never made Sourdough biscuits. I gave your recipe a try. And while it all looked the same as what you were showing in your video, the end product looked beautiful - but - these were the toughest and least flaky/fluffy biscuits I've made in years. I'm sure it's not what you want to hear/read, but it's my experience making your recipe.

    These auto-generated subtitles are hilarious!
    "...free span to Kpop hostage and for what is played for the passage with me morning the waitress e-sports my Links Will Go On which means all Together at My Hearts will be automated...."
    Will definitely be trying this recipe! The biscuits look great!

    I just tried these biscuits and oh my gosh! They are absolutely amazing. So light and fluffy. Honestly they were so late they almost don't weigh anything. I was surprised because this recipe is different from all the others in that there's no cold butter cutting in 🥳🥳🥳 but that's what made it so appealing to me. Honestly I suck at the whole cutting in butter part lol. This will definitely be my go to biscuit recipe from now on!

    Those biscuits look so good, I’m definitely going to try this recipe! I also appreciate something I can start the night before and cook in the morning…I work full time and sometimes I struggle to find time for my sourdough

    Perfect biscuits the first time. ...Easier that basic biscuits because you don't have to worry about cutting in the butter just right. The were lighter and flakier than what I usually get. It was easy to halve the recipe, too. (It's just the two of us.) I'll never make conventional biscuits again.

    Got a question aren’t you only getting half a ferment since you’re adding 2 cups flour in the AM ?? I need the full flour ferment to help not spike my diabetes if I eat the biscuits. Thank you for your insight!! 😊

      You can make them instantly too, just skip the overnight ferment

    Great video. Have you tried this recipe without chemical leavening, relying solely on the starter for rising?

  • @johnshankster2464
    @johnshankster2464 11 месяцев назад

    Yours is the first recipe with baking soda.
    If you culture all night, the yeast will delete some of the gluten, but adding more flour with help it.

    Is there any reason you can’t mix everything together, wet and dry, the night before, and leave it to ferment overnight? What is the reason the baking soda, baking powder, etc. are kept separate?

    • @laurennicolejones
      @laurennicolejones  10 месяцев назад

      You could totally do that! I just like the simplified fermenting without the extras. Give it a shot!! Comment how it goes

      Hey, love the video, thank you for it. I used to work in a bakery and just wanted to let you know, next time you want your biscuits to rise straight up instead of curved, dont twist whatever you use to cut you biscuits. Just push straight down. It helps give it the full rise of a biscuit. Will be trying this recipe though, thank you.
