I have read a report that farmers said: They hired the Americans citizens paying top dollar (17-20$ at the time it was way over the minimum wage) with benefits. Out of 100 hired, 40 only last 1 day of work, 40 only last 2-3 days and then by the end of the week…they were all gone. Good luck farmers. Good luck for us to find cheap farmers products at the store
As a Floridian I can attest to that Produce was rotten on the farms because unfortunately Americans are not willing to do that type of hard work. Especially these younger generations... We of course suffered the price hike on Florida grown products.
Ron DeSantis tried this stunt in Florida last year and it backfired in his face when Farmers and businesses told him if he criminalized Immigrants for working in Florida all construction, road building, farming, tourism and service industries would come to a screeching halt and economic disaster would ensue. After careful consideration, the stunt quickly went away. Even so, years ago, Alabama tried the same thing with Immigrant Labor, and it ended the same way, in total disaster. When something is done for purely hateful reasons, this is the result.

This attorney says the government needs many more people to process these cases, but Elon’s commission plans to drastically cut government funding, so how is that going to work?
I don't even understand how this host and the immigration attorney can discuss the backlog and not mention how the border bill that the GQP voted against at Trump's urging specifically addressed that need. I watch his legs swinging and wonder how much of this propaganda he's repeating does he actually believe. He's just trying to pander to DeSantis to get that judge seat, apparently.
Enlightening. Here is just something to think about in numbers and without post-truth enraging populism: Estimated cost for deporting 1 million people in one year - $88 billion dollars Estimated total cost for a decade of deportation - $967.9 billion dollars To deport 1 million people per year would require to build and maintain 24 times more detention capacity. In comparison the entire US prison population is 1,9 million people (including every jail in every state, every city). Here is a citation from the article: "In 2017 research conducted by the Cornell Farmworker Program, 30 New York dairy farmers told us they turned to undocumented workers because they were unable to find and keep reliable U.S. citizens to do the jobs. That's in part because farm work can be physically demanding, dirty and socially denigrated work. More importantly, it is one the most dangerous occupations in the U.S. The U.S. fruit, vegetable and meat industries are similarly at risk, and without the help of unauthorized workers, production would drop and consumers would likely see higher prices." And here are some stats how many percent of undocumented immigrants by industry: Hired farmers - 53% Construction - 15% Production - 9% Services - 9% Transportation - 6% Overall workforce - 5% So, whatever industry it is, expect higher prices from deportation, and perhaps bankruptcies of numerous businesses. Another study in numbers (citation): "Undocumented immigrants paid $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes in 2022. Most of that amount, $59.4 billion, was paid to the federal government while the remaining $37.3 billion was paid to state and local governments.", and "More than a third of the tax dollars paid by undocumented immigrants go toward payroll taxes dedicated to funding programs that these workers are barred from accessing. Undocumented immigrants paid $25.7 billion in Social Security taxes, $6.4 billion in Medicare taxes, and $1.8 billion in unemployment insurance taxes in 2022."
A lot of these workers that have been here for a long time, have kids in school, paying taxes, providing services should be allowed fast track to green card status as long as they stay out of criminal courts for commiting serious crimes.
@@Richard.Cabeza A person in Clearwater, FL recently got apprehended for the killing of 2 people in the 70's. Since then, he was in the US military, fought in Iraq, lost both his legs during the war. If you think that fruits/vegetable are important to the average American compared to all the many problems that came with illegal immigrants then you are the problem.
As long as you don't want to eat out, get your car detailed, buy a gallon of milk, have your lawn mowed, or have a house built or a roof replaced, then it won't be an issue.
Who is going to frame, roof, and sheetrock all of those hurricane shattered houses? Who is going to harvest all of those vegetables and citrus fruits? who is going to man those chicken, pork, and beef processing factories? These are all jobs filled largely by immigrant workers, working for cheap/slave wages. They are there because Americans will not take or stay in these painful and demanding jobs. If replacement American workers can be found to do this work, they will demand that they be paid wages 2 to 3 times the slave wages being payed immigrants. So if send-them-home policies are actually successful, be prepared to pay much more for your food and construction services. Think that your life is getting harder? Just wait. Those 3 million new homes that are needed to help offset the U.S. housing shortage not likely to happen.
Perhaps the billionaires' plan is to put unemployed American citizens of all ages to work for slave wages when (1) Trump tariffs drive many business into bankruptcy because of lack of sales as prices jump 20% or more and millions of AMERICAN CITIZENS lose their jobs; (2) Social Security and disability benefits are slashed, Veterans' benefits are killed, and nobody receives Medicare or Medicaid. People worked at whatever they could find that would pay them pennies on the dollar during the Great Depression, just in order to feed themselves or their kids - medical care, HA! Living in the house you still had a mortgage on before you lost your job and your unemployment benefits expired, HA! And consider - even if you own your house with no mortgage owed, there will be property/real estate taxes to pay. Where's that money going to come from? Getting proper medical care and being able to buy your prescription drugs, HA! Stock up now on whatever you can afford. I'm planning on a Trump Great Depression that will probably outlast me (I'm 73 and retired, and by no means rich).
Immigrants would gladly pay 20k as a penalty to get a permit but the government won't do it because of something called POLITICS.....politicians want to keep the immigration conversation open because it means votes either in favor or against it....I'm not saying all immigrants are perfect but at least 90% of them are hard working people and law abiding citizens so the Gov could easily get rid of the problem but just won't act on it.
I can’t wait until next year’s harvest of fruits and vegetables at farms across the country and seeing my Caucasian brothers and sisters in the fields. Oh no, that won’t happen but an apple will probably cost $8. Just ask farmers in Florida how their farms have been with a reduced immigrant workforce. Now folks, get ready for the greatest inflation this country has ever seen.
You have temporary workers they come for harvest then go home every year and 4 ur information 90%of them don’t want to pick fruit 🍎 you either dumb or xxxx
It would add at most a dime to an apple. And heaven forbid you having to pay an extra dime and continue supporting an indentured servant industry because you're too cheap to pay a few more cents for a living wage.
Everyone pay taxes in America.. it's laws. Paying taxes does not exclude a immigrant from deportation. Immigration in America have been consistent for 60 years. The results are not just about the collapse of the country, it is also about the moral decay. It is not just illegals that face deportation; the groups with the degenerate behavior are at risk as well. It is the Federal Government's duty to protect their citizens. This review of America's immigration policies should have been done decades ago.

Without these workers who do ag work and work very hard, as a small vegetable grower I've done this work myself. Who is going to harvest the vegetables and produce for our groceries. I do not think the millionaires in Trumps crew know anything about real work in farm fields.
Millionaires have everything handed to them, they don’t know how that produce gets harvested, how it’s produced, cultivated and eventually they don’t understand how it gets to his or her table
Just wondering if they have pondered the logistics of probably deporting just 2 millions... and the void left in unskilled labor pool i.e. harvests, construction, food chain.. so many industries.

So De Santis loves Trump and will cooperate with him. So what happens to Haiti migrants that are taken out of the US. Back to Haiti? I met these people & these families! My heart is broken for them!
I know so many of them personally and worked with dozens of them over 25:years with a large FL employer. They are gentle, respectful, hard-working, very honest, very clean in their work habits and grooming, generous of heart, devoted to their faith and their families. Beautiful people...and so very oppressed & desperate to escape the violence and unrest within Haiti. Often an entire family will pool resources to send one family member here, to work hard and share earnings with their family back in Haiti to help them survive. Only those with money to pay, can even get an education in Haiti. Adequate housing and food are lacking, and there are still many areas that never recovered from devastating earthquakes and hurricanes. Gangs and violent political groups run the streets and neighborhoods, commandeering the property of others and victimizing innocent people. To see the horrible way that they have been blamed and misrepresented by politicians, especially those in Springfield OH, is just sickening! We who know these people, need to advocate for them and stand up against those who treat them inhumanely. I did, at one point, call Immigration Services and eventually reached a Homeland Security official, and chewed him out badly for intimidating a very meek Haitian woman by separating her from her husband and grilling her for intimate and explicit details of their sex life, supposedly to verify if they were truly married. He justified this as doing his duty for the country!--I told him, "apparently you don't live in MY country, because I'm an American and we don't demean women without consequences. I'm filing a formal complaint against you and my mission is to have you removed from your job. I'm not only a woman, but a taxpayer & you work for ME, so remember that." Guess what...ICE dropped their BS against this couple, and they are now citizens. Despite that she signed all kinds of documents she didn't understand while crying, scared and under terrible duress!! I'm not having it; DeSantis can go to hell.
With millions of people having seriously damaged or lost their homes in the recent hurricanes, trying to deport the many immigrants who work in construction, are desperately needed to work on replacing homes & businesses swept away, or damaged beyond repair. There's also a huge amount of work to remove debris, get people's property cleaned up sufficiently that landscapers are needed for, as well as many other positions immigrants hold that keep restaurants in business to provide food for all the extra people in those areas fed, etc.. One might hope someone in his administration will point out the chaos removing immigrants workers from the states hit hardest by hurricanes will cause.
There is a type of visa for agricultural workers. That is why many of the people who work in this field are here legally, in case you didn't know. Let's send these criminals back and then bring legal workforce like it's always been done.

Though it is not an exact parallel, what happened with Brexit in England is instructive. The big selling point for leaving the European Union was that there would be an influx of money into the National Health Service. This has not come to pass. What has occurred is the negative impact on agriculture. The flow of farm workers from other European countries under EU membership was cut off with the passage of Brexit. This has resulted in a shortage of workers, as English workers, much like American workers, don't find agricultural work appealing.

It’s not. They want to create chaos so that the system tears itself down.

Enlightening. Here is just something to think about in numbers and without post-truth enraging populism:
Estimated cost for deporting 1 million people in one year - $88 billion dollars
Estimated total cost for a decade of deportation - $967.9 billion dollars
To deport 1 million people per year would require to build and maintain 24 times more detention capacity. In comparison the entire US prison population is 1,9 million people (including every jail in every state, every city).
Here is a citation from the article:
"In 2017 research conducted by the Cornell Farmworker Program, 30 New York dairy farmers told us they turned to undocumented workers because they were unable to find and keep reliable U.S. citizens to do the jobs. That's in part because farm work can be physically demanding, dirty and socially denigrated work. More importantly, it is one the most dangerous occupations in the U.S.
The U.S. fruit, vegetable and meat industries are similarly at risk, and without the help of unauthorized workers, production would drop and consumers would likely see higher prices."
And here are some stats how many percent of undocumented immigrants by industry:
Hired farmers - 53%
Construction - 15%
Production - 9%
Services - 9%
Transportation - 6%
Overall workforce - 5%
So, whatever industry it is, expect higher prices from deportation, and perhaps bankruptcies of numerous businesses.
Another study in numbers (citation):
"Undocumented immigrants paid $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes in 2022. Most of that amount, $59.4 billion, was paid to the federal government while the remaining $37.3 billion was paid to state and local governments.", and
"More than a third of the tax dollars paid by undocumented immigrants go toward payroll taxes dedicated to funding programs that these workers are barred from accessing.

Undocumented immigrants paid $25.7 billion in Social Security taxes, $6.4 billion in Medicare taxes, and $1.8 billion in unemployment insurance taxes in 2022.
At the state and local levels, slightly less than half (46 percent, or $15.1 billion) of the tax payments made by undocumented immigrants are through sales and excise taxes levied on their purchases. Most other payments are made through property taxes, such as those levied on homeowners and renters (31 percent, or $10.4 billion), or through personal and business income taxes (21 percent, or $7.0 billion).
Six states raised more than $1 billion each in tax revenue from undocumented immigrants living within their borders. Those states are California ($8.5 billion), Texas ($4.9 billion), New York ($3.1 billion), Florida ($1.8 billion), Illinois ($1.5 billion), and New Jersey ($1.3 billion).
In a large majority of states (40), undocumented immigrants pay higher state and local tax rates than the top 1 percent of households living within their borders.
If they were allowed to work legally and actually paid properly they would pay even more taxes .

2024 - The "No Funding for Sanctuary Cities Act" is being introduced by Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, and would amend federal law so that any jurisdiction that blocks federal immigration enforcement would be ineligible for a range of federal law enforcement grants and any other grant administered by the Department of Homeland Security or Department of Justice.
It would also require the DHS secretary to report to Congress how many states and localities are not complying with federal immigration enforcement. It says that any funds that are withdrawn from sanctuary jurisdictions can be diverted to those that are in compliance.
And if blue state governors stop subsidizing red states??? Without blue state economies, the red states sucking on the govt teat will come to a crashing halt.
Cheaper rent, less crime, higher wages
Lol
😅😅😅😅
@@Genxr-u8o who knew supply and demand and demographic crime stats were so funny? It never ceases to amaze what people find humor in.
Delusional Cultist
The price of thi gs will go sky high, when the produce are scared and no one to work???
Who cares. Everything is sky high because of all the illegals anyway
Nobody explains how other countries are going to be forced to take these people. Ridiculous. They won’t be allowed to dock or land.
If someone is on asylum their case has to be heard and they have to exhaust all their appeals before you can remove them
Though it is not an exact parallel, what happened with Brexit in England is instructive.
Don't worry, Elon has AI robots ready and waiting to pick the fruits and vegetables.
Let us all think that we all was made with good hearts, put ourselves in their shoes, let us all show love whether you are documented or undocumented, all of us gonna leave this world one day that we now call our home,Our lord jesus is coming back for a people that love one to another and do his will
How will you keep the criminals out once they're deported???
Going to be a database of them and if they re-enter it's a felony that time the first time it's a misdemeanor and he's upping the penalty for the felony to 10 years in prison they won't come back illegally
Please give examples of how our immigration system is "broken."
If you overstay your visa, you are here illegally.
Less crime.....to start with,
Are you implying that native born Americans commit less crime than illegal immigrants? The facts are that immigrants commit less crime than Americans in the U.S. per the DOJ.
no more strawberry festival .
Bye Elon
Elon isn't going anywhere but illegal immigrants are
Elon is LEGAL you =🤏🧠
Not too bright are you. Maybe get back to your cry closet. Elon works for Trump now and there's nothing you can do about it 😂
Bye illegals
@@DemocRATsarePedos-tn3resure about that?
All of you dont have to eat fresh vegetables and fruit. Just eat bread rich people. Oh and cake😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sounds good to me. Bye Felisha

Trump broke many laws! He's first
NBC, it won’t quit the bias.
If you came illegally and broke the law, you don't get to come back
It’s not broke it just needs to be followed
Were you all covering this before the election?
Less taxes we don’t want to pay for illegal hotels food cars and medical insurance
People tend to forget that our ancestors migrated to America. American Indians are the true natives.
It means Less Crime & Not wasting Tax Payers money. It cost more of Tax payers Money giving Freebies & Housing.
Really? Didn't DeEvil take care of all of this in Florida when he won the last election? Are you saying he did not enforce the laws the legislature passed in 2022 and 2023?
I think Ronnie is letting employers get off the hook.
Do you not realize that undocumented immigrants pay taxes? They pay payroll taxes, they pay into social security and medicare, yet they don't collect social security or medicare. They also pay sales tax..
I mean, 97 billion they pay annually, who needs that money?
His clients wouldn't be losing sleeps if they weren't in the country illegally to begin with!
Asylum cases with a court date, credible or not, are technically here legally until the court decides against their case. The lawyer is most likely to referring to the ones who don’t stand a chance at winning in court.
Decreased property taxes is my hope ? By the way, the agriculture workers have stated themselves that they purposefully urinate and defecate amidst the crop they gather. Most recent example: the onions at McDonalds.
I hope people don’t take this the wrong way. I feel bad for the families that are going to be affected through this but wouldn’t this encourage more farmers to give better wages and conditions to the American citizens? A lot of people keep talking about how Americans don’t want to work those jobs but don’t people forget that it’s for a reason? Not necessarily that they’re super lazy?
If you entered on a Visa and overstayed your Visa the moment you overstate your Visa you're in the country illegally you should have to leave there should be no carve out for you you should be banished from the country for a minimum 10 years have to pay an excessive fine and any assets that you have should be forfeited.. that's how it works in Japan
Uber drivers are illegal.
No there are not! For sure
@ They are in my Florida town. Not all. But many.
Uber drivers or illegal some because Migrants they don’t have a Social Security number to open up an account. Someone is opening accounts for them and they are paying for those accounts which is illegal and a crime you’re driving around with fake paper tags no insurance and no driver license there you go right there so there’s your answer.
@ I just know they don’t speak a word of English and don’t know where they are going.
Hm.. It'll put the pressure on people to move to where that's less likely. Whether that welcome stills exists, is another matter. That the feds can basically act without local permission, given the state of the courts, means there's going to be some ugly images in the future.
Something must be done about the huge number of illegal workers. It’s not fair for people who has entered legally or those who was born here! In my industry it has been hard to compete because there people hiring illegal workers paying them $10 for a job that is worth at least $50.
GIT R DONE
They came with no process, so why is there a process to leave.
