They saved my life at 14, horrible environment, physical emotional abuse. I’d sit for hours listening/singing theses songs/albums on repeat for hours. From Science album until now. They literally saved me.... It Made me know tomorrow would be different and I’d be I control someday. They save me still at 33, but on a less cataclysmic level as therapy and their words have guided my life. Thank you. You saved me. In tears of pure revel and thanks
Same here.. they too helped save my life. In more ways than one. 33yrs old now ans I still listen to them everyday.
Glad you're here :)
Im glad to hear you made it through. You are strong.
Thank you beautiful people.. 💜🧚♀️
I am. You are. They are. So it is to be;)
Glad you’re hear to tell your story. I’m 33 as well. Crazy how time flys, been listening to them since science as well.
Nah, the respect is still there no matter how much Brandon's voice has changed, im still thankful for their music. Still love Incubus. ♥️
Yes sir!
I wonder how he feels!! One of the best live singers ever !!!
Yeah it seems he hasn't taken care of it over the years. Sad, bc his voice was so beautiful. I will still always love and respect them, probably won't go see them live though.
@warzed Robert plant says otherwise. Brandon himself said his vocal style was improper and it caused him permanent damage.
@@12xenn45 if you care for it properly, your voice can maintain or even improve with age.
Age is really catching up. And its just fine. Lets enjoy them while they are still around.
He's only 43, relax.
Yeah no kidding. His voice is so shot. It’s ok. I loved them as a teenager.
Christopher Jorge Lopez lol come on they’re not that old yet. You make it sound they’re almost dead. BB just 43
NO it hasn't. He could be sick? I saw them live recently, and they soumd GREAT live. This scratchiness in his voice isn't normal. Grest musicians!
@@DavidTheCastle It usually isn't. He must have been sick.
This artist is more than his own voice, he is his lyrics and atitude too
And art!
Its Incubus. They can do whatever they want now. They've earned it.
Thats so true😂
A Brandon Boyd performance without taking off his shirt? How the times have changed!
Tex Becks He’s got to hide his gigantic gut.
If this halfway of a 2-hour show, he’d be shirtless by then.
Sunni Burns A lot can change in 14 months.
his voice is struggling too :(

Oh dear, I've somehow traveled back to 1999. I don't feel 20 years younger, though. Seriously, I was in *high school* when Drive debuted. I'm pretty sure the CD is still back at home somewhere. Where have the last two decades gone? It doesn't seem that long ago...
STOP IT! You're making our old show!
I still have this CD! One of the first “real” bands I listened to. I remember being obsessed with the video for this song because you got to see Brandon (lead singers) drawings
Me too
The older we get, the faster it goes!!
I was shocked and thrilled to see musicians I knew on the Late Show! Lolol
💞💞💞 this song
Came on here to say EXACTLY that. I think my CD is kicking around back at home somewhere. I feel old 😟
It was my first girlfriend that introduced me to Incubus back when I was learning to surf, and I’m so glad she did.
Incubus can have all of my money. I will never stop listening to them / loving them. Love that they're on tour.
How much do you got?
Brandon Boyd is gradually morphing into Anthony Kiedis.
Lossleader Records lmao was gonna say that glad someone beat me to it !
Lossleader Records i agree! Lol
Noticed that too
Lossleader Records lolol
He morphed out from Anthony Kiedis. Check out Incubus’s first ever performance on a high school event.
One of my fave bands over all these years. Love the music, the lyrics, the feel. ❤
Brandon Boyd’s voice will always be so beautiful to me. Greatest singer to ever do it. The human voice changes with age.. especially if you’ve been singing your whole life the way Brandon has. He’s put his ALL into this band and his voice as it is today is a reminder to how hard he really worked for us. He wore his voice out permanently for us. Thank you Brandon. Greatest singer of all time. ❤
✨💖✨
Love how they added “Drive” by the Cars during the bridge
I caught that too. Very cool.
It was very well done ~ seamless. :)
My first time hearing that was when I saw them in ATL at the Roxy, blew my damned mind! Everyone but a few cultured swines were confounded haha
Brandon's voice has changed a lot. it might crack a little but he still controls his position. I'm still with you Incubus. ❤❤❤❤🎶🎶🎶
Songs that take me back remind me of all that is gone now. Family and friends are gone, houses are gone, I have lived around the world yet nothing since has ever felt like home. One song tho, can take me back like time machine.
This❤
Wait. What? How could this song & album be 20 yrs old? Good god, I forgot how much I loved Incubus. Simpler times. Still have a mad crush on Brandon Boyd. Hearing & seeing them helps ease my ever present pain of losing CC, but, damn, it makes me nostalgic for '99. Brandon & Chris are eerily similar - spiritual, beautiful poets & artists. Creating new playlist of old Incubus songs now..
Thanks, Stephen, for having them on.
Kevin Gilbert's Miss Broadway was written well over 20 years ago.
C.C. Deville is still alive and well!
Yes! Totally ❤
its all good man we already know what your capable of...
Sing as much as he has at the intensity he has and I don't fault Brandon for his voice sounding that way. I still love this band regardless..
Is this a film reference?

@@danejurus69 Mike Patton has... for twice as long. I'd say I have as well {www.smule.com/recording/depeche-mode-insight-oryginal-parts/1072919303_2916057817} but the "You're not famous" line supposedly erases any possible talent.
Guppusmaximus Patton is the benchmark.
"Pardon me" incubus, but you guys are "stellar." 20 year a later and I still "dig" your music....😆😆😆
I'll show myself out...
CMy H dig a brillint song
CMy H u should take ur “vitamin”
I'm just a "southern girl" sitting "here in my room" thinking, It doesn't seem like it could've been 20 years already! I love these guys, that red rocks show was insane! I'd love to see them again but in the "sick sad little world" the tix are too expensive.
Side note: Trump's a "megalomaniac" and the only way I can tolerate him is if the "talk shows on mute".
oh...OH...AAAAAAAAAAAAAH I see what you did
Classical
I’ve heard him sing not to long ago he was on point he sounds sick
Like covid sick lol?
@@thegigglystinkfinger8515this was before COVID
Say what you’re going to say now but in the past, Brandon was one of those rare singers that sounded better live than in the studio! Living legend 🖤
Literally one of the best songs of the early 2000’s.
Everything about this song flows so well together.
I was an angry teen in the late 90s when this came out, I was living in a shit hole small town in the middle of a hot desert, hated my life so much, I still hate my life for different reasons now, but this makes me nostalgic for an earlier hatred. I had hair back then and was skinnier but still felt ugly and deformed. I guess this is the best place to open up about that.
The tour is effectively called, "20 years of singing these songs." Regardless of how Brandon sounds after 20+ years of singing, these guys remain iconic far beyond their radio hits :D
Rob halford!
I don't expect anything to be perfect. This is Incubus for better or worse. They are real. That's all.
Oh sweet Jesus my knees go weak for Brandon Boyd even after all this time 😵🔥
Bianca Bloom just a beautiful man through and through!
Yea, I can't decide if he's aging well or not.. I've seen then three times.. transfixed just like with Mike Patton. Mmmmm
Little rough
Are u kiddinme u never see Scott weiland the last days.. Shut UP.. Brandon sounds good, he old and this it
20 years has been kind to him 😍 I was in high school and crushing hard on Brandon Boyd.
Seeing the first video of Brandon singing 'Drive' he was so young there in that video..Time goes by so quickly, now he's 43 years old..Great song tho, a song that stays with you no matter how many years go by.
D D He reminded me of the singer of the verve in that video
Great band! Thanks for having them on, Stephen!!
Saw them live with hoobastank, R.H.C.P, foo fighters, Deftones and a ton of other bands back in 2000 in Atlanta. Saw them live again last year in Washington. Man, time has flown....what the hell
My child hood
Big Day Out at Lakewood? I remember seeing them, Deftones, and Linkin Park before their first album came out. Also Scott Weiland was cracked out of his mind on the main stage
David Hill damn dude and I thought I was getting old...😘
Since I started listening to these guys 17 yrs ago my only wish is to see them perform live. As long as I live and they still make music, I won't stop dreaming about it. Love u guys.
I think hes got a cold because i saw them last friday for the 5th time and he was on point.
strikeunion thanks for that info. I thought age finally got to him
He's old it happens
I thought it was a sound issue.
Incubus song is hard to sing... And He's not getting younger... And thats fine... But maybe he's got another gig the day before the take... That's the risk being vocalist they need to rest and sometimes the schedule is crazy
@@2gigahijau that doesn't make sense, you can get old and still hit you notes or at least as nearly as posible, there are so many examples of that, the issue here is that he sounds weird, his singing is weird since they dropped the last 2 récords, specially 8.
I love how they put the lines from Drive by The Cars in near the end. ❤️
Seriously one of the most underrated bands to emerge from the 90's. Amazing talent from every member.
They changed too quick. They're one album was brilliant and then Meh.
@@el34glo59 science, make yourself, morning view, and a crow left of the murder are all incredible albums. if not now when has some sweet songs on it too but i wouldnt put their last 2 albums in the category with the first 5. go watch sick sad little world live from a crow left of the murder its so awesome
i also love fungus amongus
Underrated? LOL. Everyone and their mother listened to Incubus. The music video for this song has over 100 million views. Stop throwing that word around senselessly. (Not to mention they suck ass and have always sucked ass. Saw them twice at festivals back in the day and they were among the worst sets each time.)
Cody’s this, Cody’s that, Cody’s me bro
Little more rasp in the voice but man this band will always be my favorite, so much love going out to incubus!
I actually feel a little better about myself singing along rasping up in the same spots as he is. I used to sing along with the record note for note and covered this song in bands years ago. Sigh.
He sings out of this throat a lot and he has gotten laryngitis quite a few times because of this. Slowly over time he is really hurting his voice and his range.
It seems that his singing has actually gotten worse since he's been recieving training....
he needs to take care of his voice better.
that extended cool bridge part caught me off guard and i loved it!
I met these guys a year ago their some of the nicest people I've ever meet, love incubus and they incredible live, will always be one of my favourite bands
I just learned this song on my acoustic guitar today....I'm 61. Great tune!
I’ve been a fan of these guys for years now and even been to their concert before. Brandon is an incredible singer, hands down! Age is just catching up with him which is pretty normal but he’s still amazing!
the message of the song is that he'll be there. despite his voice being shot, he's there. enjoy incubus
I'm a complete metalhead, but certain songs touch your heart and take you back!!
name me one good metal album??

Am so happy Incubus is still alive and kicking. I remember hearing this on the radio, in stores, and even my brother playing this when I was still in Elementary school in the early 2000s. The music industry takes people's lives when they're young but Incubus along with RHCP will last forever! I was too young to understand then, but I realize I tokk my childhood for granted.
Damn this song is eternal...i heard this when i was in college...a very special band 👏👏👏
All I can say is thank you! 🙂
Rebirth of unplug. Thank you incubus.
OLD BUT GOLD!
From the day this band/music born i didn't stop listening to it.
And my sons does..
This was the first song I ever heard of them and became a fan ever since.I remember this music video being on pop pop video...if any1 remembers that. Love you Incubus!!!
That rasp in his voice now tho! So stoked to see them this fall
How is this 20 years already? Time sure does fly.
True
Ive been listening since I was 12 years old! I’m 31 now and my 6 year old LOVES this song!
"Who's gonna drive you home. Hold the wheel and Drive" my favorite part 😍brandon boyd 😘
Very chill and laid back performance! They got nothing to prove, they’re the best!
"who gonna drive you home ?", line sound IDENTICAL to teh same line from a song also called Drive by The Cars. Is that a deliberate lift or what ?
How come nobody is mentioning that lil' Drive by The Cars medley?. For a second I thought he had forgotten the lyrics, then boom! A W E S O M E.
I heard a live version of drive come on the radio and they did the same thing, I thought it was awesome and that’s what made me look up a live performance
Huge fan of Incubus! ❤️ from Bangladesh 🇧🇩! Good old 90s!
First INCUBUS song I ever heard was "NEW SKIN" and i was instantly hooked on the bands overall sound.
Voice has definitely changed. I hate aging. But im still here you can still sing.
Such a classic album, I hope from seeing this people go out and buy Make Yourself
It feels good to see them. Gonna binge listening to their old albums now. Morning View what a masterpiece ❤️
Wow! 20 years...I feel so old but love this song so much!
The very first Incubus song actually I bumped into and never looked back. Been one of my favourite bands ever since for 20 years now.
The mashup with original "Drive" was beautiful. I don't mind Boyd's voice incoherence, shit happens at times.
#Love#Incubus
Oh and BTW, I’ve seen them 3 times in the last 2 years and they have killed it each time. Brandon’s voice is fine. A little scratchy on the high notes in this performance, but my guess is overuse. Touring and working on new music might do that. Can’t wait to see them this October in DC. So excited
Love ❤️ incubus
Much love and respect to this band ...hail to brandon♥️
Struggling drive but still my fav song. And i miss you
MEMORIES omg. I was a freshman in college when this track came out. 😭 Life was so cool and breezy pre-9/11.
Yes!!!
This song meant so much to me. Thanks for reminding me. Fantastic.
Still awesome today
I'm somehow just seeing this. I saw them live in 1999 or 2000 so this is really cool.
love them
Sick sad little world is easily one of the best tracks of the 21st century.
Jonathan Smith THANK you. I have never met another soul that enjoys that song as much as I do. The solo is legendary IMO and belongs among the likes of Hotel California and Stairway to Heaven
man that song. . . makes me play air guitar and act like stepping guitar effects pedal like mike all the time! definitely one of the best guitar rifts in the ACLOTM album
That is a great CD that song is on
Who comes again here cause of Beef? Good dmn song! Reminds me when I was in college, all that I need to listen to cheer up
That little nod to the Cars' "Drive" was perfect!
Love this band...still in 2020
Still sounding great. Love Incubus. 😎🤘
Like fine wine, Incubus forever!
Still and always will be amazing. I can’t wait to see them again in Phoenix .
same!👏👍😍
I love the sound of Mikes Guitar
real music.
I live to relive the good days in my memories
I like how they sneak snippets of other songs into theirs, exactly why I can't wait to see them
No matter the voice, the message stays. That what it means by whatever tomorrow brings ill be there. Thank you brandon. We got you.
Crow Left of the Murder is always going to be one of my favorite albums, such amazing production on that one. I remember Megalomaniac playing on tv and I was so freaked out by the video it made me curious, then they were my favorite band in grade 8
The only time I've watched the Late show.
Was never a big fan of this band but Antigravity Love Song, IMO, is one of the most under-appreciated songs ever
The Swail Correct!
Listening now
Heard it before when i listened to that album through, after re listening now..it's growing on me
Bozey0 Awesome. I love the jazzy sound of the song. It really shows what great musicians these guys are. Great catchy chorus, and even an amazing sax solo
@@CompleteProducer84 They can literally do anything, one of my faves is Are you in, love that jazzy bass sound
So awsome
I can feel he’s struggling with this voice.. (talking as if I’m a voice analytic lol) but I hope he’s well! I love what he did at the bridge, mixing with another song. Sounds flawless.
Random, I was literally just listening to science wondering if Incubus were still doing shows. This answers my question!
I Saw Them When They Toured For SCIENCE...Makes Me Feel Like An Old Ass Man.
New Skin will forever be my favorite by them. Such a catchy chorus.
Same, mate.
@@nickwick35 Deep Inside is my favourite track
@@BlakeBaker5 I saw them in either 2002 or 2003, they were great live!
My favorite song lets go back in time
As kid I loved this song as I grew up into a man I lived this. Keep going incubus
So much evolution, loved this song then and love it live now
Maybe TMI, but that's the song I lost my virginity to in the autumn of 2000. Nostalgia hits hard.
the tiny light saber hits hard
Lots of Incubus babies in the comment section I see
So nice to go back in time
Everyone who's wondering about his voice - this guy and the band literally gave everything they had to their craft. His voice as it now is, is a tribute to that sacrifice for all the fans back in the 90s and 2000s. When we hear his voice now - those of us who heard it back then - we know exactly that that voice means. Thanks Brandon for giving it your all. 👊👍
Great tune!!!!
lol i thought this was an old video before clicking.
this is one of my main influences.
I had to check the date too at first just to make sure i'm not tripping.
Brandon, you are a legend - one of my biggest musical inspirations. I feel so scared watching you live - Your vocals are hurt... we have to find a way of making you enjoy music. Your voice has been like this for years now... Anyways I'll support you no matter what - You've been a teacher from far for me. I'm forever grateful.
I hope he gets his voice back ;/ .. i love them no matter what ;)
I hope he stops pronouncing the words in a weird way like he is singing a song from 8...
He's not sick.
