just love it, if I can't own one at least I can enjoy your channel and watch all these amazing cars you're test driving
Glad you enjoy it!
It acts like it needs the timing advanced a little. Is the vacuum advance hooked up? I think you use a vacuum gauge to sync the carbs somehow. Nice car, I always liked the vent glass in the 68's which they didn't put in the 69's.
Sounds like the fuel pump Is solid mounted to metal with no rubber insulators between it , nice looking car . 👍
Gott put those things in the tank. They last longer and you can barely hear them!!
Looks like a very fun grocery getter! At 11:40 you said "Police watching me" and I had to laugh, the whole department is subscribed good thing the speedometers never work haha!
lol They are I'm sure of it
I,d have to put that fuel pump on a trailer behind the car haha!
EXACTLY......or put it inside a box made of kryoronite...
i love these my dad had the 69 396
New owner priority one: put stock fuel pump back. Two: ditch shadetree rigged dual quad setup. Three: toss fake badges. End result, sweet 68 driver.
Cheers.
I could be hired for a price. Horns are very easy to fix. : )
First thing is that is has 2 different types of carbs and no way to know what cam is in it or the degrees of the timing is set at. Small block with 2, 4 barrels is pumping a few CFM's so hopefully there is the right cam, rockers arms and heads to back it up. Love these Chevelles, and wish I had the one I built back.
nice car Nick, keep up the good video work .............................................................. we're waving at you from Sydney Australia
Very beautiful amazing looking car beautiful colour thanks Nick have a very nice day
duals on a sbc can work and def look cool, Corvettes had 'em from factory '56-'61, but gotta have coordinated cam specs and timing, proper advance curve, low rear end gears, pref a Muncie, and keep the rev's high. I think there's more going on here that just 'carbs out of sync'. Lots of these back in the day that ran great on the street/strip, but its gotta be setup right. I'd get rid of the fake SS badges...never understood pretending to be something you're not...its a Malibu which is fine as it is. love the stance and fat E/T's.
That humming sound is like some sort of Tibetan Monk Namaste stuff.
good price on this car
This chevelle is NICE!!!!!!!!; Nick👍
You really need to get those carbs adjusted or put a 4 bbl intake and carb on it. That way it's right when it leaves and If the new owner wants 2 carb setup then they can pay to get them synced up
@Buddy Wiser // Exactly! That's the set-up you need to make this a nice reliable cruiser, and would be the first thing I changed as soon as I got the car home. The second thing would be to swap out that noisy fuel pump for a standard volume one and mount it near the tank outside of the car where it belongs...😄👍🇺🇸
My 68 Chevelle I had was a small block. Had a edelbrock performer with a carter 625 Cfm 4 barrel carb. That worked well for me. Turn key.
That fuel pump would drive me out of my mind!
Jim Cook oh ya. Me too.
That.... and the steering wheel being off center. I would have to fix both of those things immediately.
That fuel pump is driving me crazy, the fuel pump button should be hidden. NICK......4 SPEED PLEASE!!! Love ur video's!
Thank you
Another beauty!
You know one thing I never see checked but is very important.. headlights for nighttime rides
That's part of a check list he completes before the time of sale.
TKO-NY oh I honestly didn’t know but now I do. I appreciate the reply brother👍👍
@@jerryking6273 np. He's mentioned it a few times. Does want to bore us with all that.
GREAT looking Ride. I like the stance of the car. Sounds good except the fuel pump.
Wait at the end that looked like a Sanford & Son truck, that's my dream car or a volvo twin turbo stationwagon hah
It's a small block, not the 396 tagged on the side
Now that’s a great project for someone at a decent price. Shows well.
THE POPPING COULD BE AN INTAKE VALVE NOT SEALING OR CARBS ARE TOO LEAN
Man this one's nice nick
FROM PUERTO RIC.
Puerto Rico.
This is the one I want ❤️
That blue camaro is catching my eye 👁 in the background
Pretty little 68 Malibu 300 dressed up as a 396 SS
300 would be a post car
yeah police can see that coming it stands out
Horn test please!
Guessing:
The car didn't run out of fuel when you turned off the buzzing fuel pump.
With Two Fours I am guessing that is a second fuel pump to supply enough gas to feed those two carburetors when you put your foot down. One quiet fuel pump for normal driving.
Is premium fuel really nessesary?
Sweet!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Move that fuel pump
Place it right behind your head rest...lol
Jk
Don't mess with them chevelles u going to lose street Fighter
Yea with ovet 500 gettiup horses under the hood.
You look like you're turning that wheel pretty easily at slow speed for no power steering. I have a 67 Camaro without power steering and I have to pull the wheel as hard as I can to turn it at slow speed
What’s up with that FOXBODY coupe in the background at 10:41?! It’s not on your video list or on the website.
Personal ride & it is not for sale
Chevelle 68...😊😊😊
My guy freshly shaved. From an angle kinda looks like tony Stewart
I like it!!!
396 badge on the tail when pumping gas lol good try on there part no maple motors but the old owners lol
Just so you know, police genuinely do NOT care about your safety....Myth...5 police cars in a 3 mile radius?..Thank God you don't have more than 1 Dunkin Doughnuts in your town, otherwise the town would be gridlocked..
Two carbs on a SBC is dumping to much fuel. One double pumper will perform better.
Looks like a nice car but too much carburetor for that engine. 650 would probably run better. I own a 68 Chevelle convertible That I bought in 1982. I know these cars inside and out.
I know this car will not last long on this lot once someone who is RICH has the money to buy it. Poor Disabled people like myself can only just watch you tube video's and dream till the video ends .. Good luck hope when you buy this car you think of us below normal people while driving it.
Sorry to hear that, man. I'm in the same boat. But there's hope! AMT recently re-leased their 1/25-scale plastic model kit of a '68 Chevelle using all new molds. You can build it to look just like Nick's, or any way you want. There are some great reviews of the kit right here on YT. I just ordered one on Ebay. Hang in there! 😄👍🇺🇸
@@artvandelay0073 true, but I want to drive the beast down the road. I got a diecast car Olds 442 1/24 scale copper with white stripes. I am getting to the point of getting rid of it. I am getting to old for it, So I will dream and never drive a real American made car because when your on a fixed income you don't count for nothing. Everything going high priced from food to Cars/trucks thanks to the fear created by the News media and the Government that business owners don't know anything anymore. Now the Business owners new saying is "Go greedy or go home". Gas shot up from $1.29 to 1.75 over night where I live.
@@kevinparshall6397 // I hear you, Kevin. I can't argue with anything you stated. It's all about greed these days. The politicians are all jockeying for position so they can implement their own twisted agendas. Instead of being greedy for power, they should be working towards helping their constituents better enjoy their lives in the time they have here on Earth. Yeah, hopping up and hot-rodding cars used to be an enjoyable, AFFORDABLE hobby. Now it's all about people with more money than brains pushing the hobby out of reach for the average person. Just look at the prices being paid at auctions like Mecum and Barrett-Jackson. I can understand the big money being paid for the rare collectible vehiucles, but not the average stuff. It's out of hand...😄👍🇺🇸
But she's long gone by now 3 yrs ago bro probly a pile sardine cans by now.🤣
No way I hope it is still out on the road
I would put my 83 5.0 4 speed and smoke that Chevy
I doubt it.
Man I just cant like chevy
Everyone has flaws.
