Is it worth picking up this game on pc anymore? The player count seems too low for the inevitable mediocrity i'd bring to multiplayer lol.

Absolutely. The campaigns are also excellent.
Try not to start against the top guys featured on the channel in multiplayer, play some FFA, team games or coop before diving into hardcore 1v1s.
