You are right. Breakage happens. It’s part of doing business. Customer should have paid for it but that’s on their conscience. You are doing well without locked cases which keeps stuff safe but also keep people from buying. I enjoy your what sold videos!
OMG I love that candy corn primitive art piece. I have a huge tote of old rusty bed springs in the shed. Now you've got me thinkin'...😊 Love your channel..😊
Enjoyed your video. My September sales in my case didn't go as well as yours, I sold two Disney plates and a vintage trinket/vanity dish. It wasn't enough to pay for my monthly rental, but at least it was something. I had an accident with breakage this month. We were adding some items to our case and had one thing left to add. We stood back to see where to put it and suddenly heard a horrible crash. I was in shock because i couldn't figure out what happened. One entire glass shelf fell and dumped the contents onto lower shelves and the floor. I list $62 worth of items, but only had about $10 invested in them, but it was still hard as some wre really beautiful things. Amazingly, the shelf itself did not break. The owner of the antique mall came and got us a new shelf because the one that fell was warped and helped us make sure it was secure. I already have a row of Christmas in my case and have already sold a Christmas ornament. In a week or two I will put more Christmas in.
I really like your antique booth sales videos! I’m sorry about the fairy lamp being broken, that’s a bummer. Maybe a case with a lock for your most expensive glass would be a good idea. I think that you should load up on Halloween until mid-October then make the switch to Christmas and go all out but still with your lovely glass because they make good holiday presents! Remember Hanukkah, Kwanza, Christmas and New Years are all going to be here before you know it!
YES ! My booth gets wrecked like that occasionally. I asked the owner one time if there was a party in my booth. My September sales were kinda bla. I have 1 shelf of Christmas but it's in the back way up top. When it gets closer I'll make a whole case full in the front... probably November.
I'm with you on the broken fairy lamp. It's disappointing but the cost of business. Things happen...however I wish people would be careful. I added a sprinkling of Christmas into one booth today and plan to add some more this week.
I sold a beautiful blue Haeger Easter Basket some time back. I went to our building on our property where we store our items and removed it from its spot ONLY to "mis-judge" the distance between it and the table the bin it was stored in and set it down too hard - breaking the handle cleanly off. This piece was a minimum of 55 years old - a ceramic piece without a single fleabite chip - UNTIL me! I was more devastated (I believe) than the buyer who of course I had to reach out and tell and refund.
😀💙🐕 Your hair is really cute! Last year I dropped a Santa mug and it broke into many pieces. Someone had bought it from Canada so I had to cancel the order.
I have a few lori mitchell pieces. She typically signs her stuff like engraved on the back. I didn't see any markings. Seemed kind of taller than anything else I've seen by her. I could have been wrong I suppose. 😅
Am I the only one that saw the back of a naked lady looking over her shoulder with her black hair off to one side in the honey & me flying Crows and pear pots!?! No?? Just me??? Ok....😁😁🤣🤣💜💚
Thanks for sharing. Its sad that people are so disrespectful when handling delicate items.
Kate always lets us know when she enters your booth!! ❤

O no… that was a very nice fairy light… so sorry… your booth is great!

I would have a locked cabinet for the more expensive items and then an open one for the rest.
Love the jug
I would put a sign in my booth saying you break you buy. I had to do it They might not like it but hey right is right

I have an antique booth for over 25 years, yes things will get broken, but you should lock your case.
