Lucy should have gone back to school or work to make her own money so that she wouldn't have to grovel at her husband's feet every time she wanted to buy something.
That was life in the 1950's. Many women were SAHM and didn't make any money though their work in caring for the house and children ought to have been worth something. Men felt that since they earned the money they decided where it went, it was HIS money, not theirs. So women had to grovel for things, plus ask permission of the master before doing anything, while he did as he pleased and spent money as he pleased. Why it's better for women to have their own careers and make their own money.
OH, Jesus, WHO? ... lib yuppies who dont't know how many sexes there are?! As the GREAT ARCHIE BUNKER said, and I quote: If they don''t like it, they can lump it, take it down the road and DUMP it!" LOL! 'I LOVE LUCY' IS THE BEST comedy EVER MADE. Let modern morons say away from our classics! What would they tihnk when they hear Ralph Kramden say to his wife, Alice: , "One of these days would I like to BELT YOU JUST ONCE!" LOL!
This could never be rebooted nowadays. No actors can come close to these four amazing actors. Especially Lucy.
LOVE this episode! LOL! Kim

"Isn't it sickening the way men stick together?" Audiences in the 50s found this funny, but now, some people would be offended by this. 🤦♀️
Only the left woke society.

Lucy and Ethel were just as sticky. Ethel came in with a coached script after all. In the end its all just innocent fun wrapped up in 30 minutes.
