Just got here from a link in reddit and this is actually... great! I'm honestly surprised, a lot of the guides on RUclips suck but you did a fantastic job of making this game understandable for a new player, thanks 👍
Great video! Haven't played any Gloomhaven games, but your video sold me on this one. Looks like what I'd sort of imagine (also something I've never played) Dungeons and Dragons to be like.
This is probably the best playthrough of the first scenario that I've watched. Really excellent. One question. Did you forget to loot the last 3 vermling raiders?
I believe the cards give you a basic move 2 or attack 2 no matter what just like in Gloomhaven if you don't want to use the text actions. At least it looks like the iconography is on the left hand middle of the cards just like it is in Gloomhaven. At about 39 minutes that would have let you move 2 and make the ranged double attack. Worked out well anyways though.
This actually feels like a way I can play Gloomhaven without being crushed with overwhelming everything! Does the campaign get a lot more complex mechanics-wise?
I hope I'll be able to play it in August/September, depends on when the store will get the batch :D I skipped to the start of gameplay sorry if you answered this during the first 10 minutes, but is it required or recommended to start with Hatchet and the Demolitionist? I kinda wanted to see the other two characters in action and no one is choosing them! :D
Oh really? I just picked them because I play the Hatchet in our campaign and so of course he's my favourite, and out of the Red Guard and Demolitionist I just felt like blowing things up that morning :D We've added a player to our campaign now though and so we're seeing more of the Voidwalker which I hadn't when I filmed this, they're all awesome in different ways!
I didn’t film those ones, sorry! I had just enough time to squeeze two playthroughs in and I thought 1 and 4 would show off the most without spoiling too much 🙂

I mean each video is many hours of filming and editing, and most games only get one playthrough :) too many games need to be filmed!
