Thanks for watching! Do you have any questions about how or why we do certain things? Leave me a comment below and I will include it in an upcoming Q&A video!
Growing up we had the heavy metal T-shaped posts with multiple steel wires stretched between for a clothesline. On wash day, we’d wipe the wires with a wet rag and then hang out the washing using wooden clothespins. Clothes dried fast 💨 on the line and smelled so good.
I’m hoping someday to have some sort of system like that! I love the smell of clothes and linens dried outdoors! ❤️
Wow I'm so impressed with how thorough you are in caring for your home and family. Great work! I can't help but cringe when you laid the white linens on the ground though! You could hang a wire up between those posts on the porch :)
Ha ha! The porch was clean, I swear! But yeah…a makeshift clothes line is a good idea!
I wash all our bedding on Fridays. I follow the clean mama method for daily, weekly and monthly task it has worked great. I love the way you work/care for your home the same way you want it to work for you.
Hanging in our patio is the best past time for our family can't wait for cooler weather. My garden needs a refresher hopefully by end of September we will be fully planted
It’s so rewarding finding a system that works! Great job!
I just found your site and heard you say your from MN. I’m in southern MN. I just started my minimalist journey and I am so excited to find your channel for more ideas.
That’s so awesome! Yes, we are in more central/western MN (north of the cities) welcome! ❤️
I just started following you. I really love your videos!
Thank you so much!
Love all your videos. Such a nice family.
Awe, thank you! ❤️
What type of dining room table do you have? It almost looks like a folding table with a wooden top?
Ha ha! As of right now that is exactly what it is! We had the top custom built to fit out space (out of trees from our property)….but we haven’t gotten around to building the base yet. Hopefully soon! ❤️
amazing share mom of 5 wow thanks ❤
Thank you!
What’s your trick on the window screens? I find mine so hard to get back in!
I’m not sure! Maybe since they are newer windows? Ours just have little pins that retract
Beautiful home ! 🏠
Thank you! ❤️
Do you use Corelle dishes? I’m thinking of getting them as my stoneware is just so heavy.
Yes we do! I made the switch about a year ago from heavier China plates and would never go back! ❤️
For the Q&A: Do you have well water or any other challenges related to your water supply or anything else associated with rural living?
Thanks for the question! I think you will be surprised by the answers to this one! 🙂
If you have a large cast iron skillet, put it on top of your paninis to weight them down as they brown.
Oooh! That’s a great idea! Thanks for the tip!
Hey- that’s an interesting kitchen table. Can you tell me about it?
we went more in detail about all of the special items we have incorporated into our home, in this video: ruclips.net/video/4_5eDd0wTYg/видео.html

Thanks for watching!
Hi! How did you make your compost bin?
I followed these instructions! www.younghouselove.com/younghouselovedotcompost/
Where are your dishes from?
They are just a simple Corelle brand dish from Walmart ❤️
@@ArrowHillCottage thank you so much
Your screens are on the inside of your windows? Ours are on the outside and they get so filthy and are so hard to get off.
Yes, the placement of your screens will depend on the type of window you have. For casement and awning style (what we have) they are on the inside. For double or single hung and sliders they are on the outside. I can imagine outside screens would get much dirtier!
You can let your children help with the beds
I definitely could!!! But…and this might sound weird…I LOVE making beds! Especially when the sheets are fresh and crisp and clean ❤️🤓
How do you start? It's me and my ol man my oldest is autistic ( boy)my middle will be one(boy) and I'll have a newborn in May (girl)
Think of the process as peeling away layers. If all you can do is a little bit right now, that’s ok! Focus on one closet, one cabinet, even one drawer of your dresser….and practice making mindful decisions. Probably the best thing you can do to ease your burden is to eliminate any excess! ❤️
Why did you skip on the dishwasher?
As funny as it may sound, I enjoy the calm of washing dishes by hand! Neither my husband nor I grew up with a dishwasher and we have just been used to not having one. ❤️
