Back in 2016, Apple released the iPhone 7, and in mid 2019, I bought a used one that I absolutely loved, and arguably switched me over to the iPhone platform. However, all these years later, is it still usable for a week in 2021? Last week I decided to find out!

Just bought one for $100 to try iOS. I'm SHOCKED at how well it does. It's far smoother than my pixel 3 xl, and that's only a 3 year old phone. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm an iPhone fan now.
Nice I know they’re selling on eBay for pretty good prices now so replace the battery (if you need to) and they’ll last you a lot more years to come
@@abethegamerful yep! That's exactly what I'm planning on doing. $50 battery replacement and it'll last another year or so.

Same experience bought it around 100$ just to try ios. Im suprised despite of being an old phone it still great. The only issue is the battery (not great for streaming and gaming do drains battery in less than 1 hour) considering how old and small is the phone. but over all it's a great experience specially the camera it has and maybe for my next upgrade I consider to move on ios phones since iphone 7 is the proof that Apple's phone are future proof, and for being supported up to 5 years since the phone's launch.
My 8 year old iPad Air 2 is far smoother than my 2 year old galaxy tab S6
I’m still using iphone 7 now for 5 yrs already. I just changed the battery. Still usable, but I hope to upgrade to ip13. God bless me with money. 😭

Was daily driving my 7+ until recently when I upgraded to the 12 mini, I still occasionally use it, such a great phone for its age!
hey im very curious...how was it like to go from a plus iphone to a mini iphone?cuz personally i got the 12 3 months ago and b4 that i always used to have smaller android phones
@@haythemslama7829 The main reason I got the mini was because I found the 7 plus to be way too big, so it was a bit weird at first but quickly got used to it. I'd say it's perfect for anyone who's a casual phone user due to the managable size.
@Sreehari Bibin Battery performance is great for me, still on 100% battery health after 2 months of usage. My daily average screentime is about 5-8 hours and I haven't had it reach below 20% on any of them. :)
The mini is basically the same size as the screen on a 8 plus!! Only more narrow👍 I own both!! however for typing and youtube usage I do prefer the plus model
I think im gonna stick with my 7 until Apple stops supporting it, it still holds up well in 2021... but yeah the time to upgrade is coming soon

Im on the 7 and tbh if im heavy using it i have to charcge maybe 2-3 times a day I'm hopefully upgrading to the 13 soon

I’m using the iPhone 7 for 3-4 days cause I had to send my iPhone 12 in for repair and I can say the iPhone 7 is so usable. I have noticed above all that an everyday life with TouchID in the pandemic is much easier than using FaceID on the iPhone 12.
I upgraded from the iPhone 7 to the iPhone 12 Pro Max after 4 years about 3 months ago. What a night and day difference, and I’ll have the 12 for another 4 years until it’s worth the upgrade.

I have a 7, regular size. Just slapped an Apple smart case and called it a day. Fixed most of the battery issues mentioned in this video. Great video by the way!
Didn’t use the 7 personally but the 8 was similar enough. It’s funny how I enjoyed it more than my previous XIAOMI mi 9T. I just like simple technology. Recently upgraded to an 11 Pro because I needed more battery and thought the ultra wide and telephoto combo was cool.

I've been using and iPhone 7 for 2,5 years. It's my first iPhone and I'm very happy with the whole Apple experience. Though I wish I had purchased the Plus model because of the 1GB of extra RAM, the bigger display, the bigger battery and the telephoto lens wich I came to realise down the road that I needed them. I consider upgrading to the iPhone 11 soon but all in all I'm very happy with this little guy for the money I gave!
Might as well upgrade to the iPhone 12 or 13

@@Crest6680 No you won't , before like a few months back, replaced the battery by Apple, only like a extra hour. This phone is unusable, I upgraded to the SE 2020

I’ve bought the iPhone 7 used as for my work phone, I’ve used it for 2.5 years, upgraded it to the iPhone Xs two weeks ago. It was a great phone the only drawback is the battery and the lack of dual sim, otherwise I enjoy using the phone.

Iphones are thicker now! It’s amazing how this has been normalised! Compared to iphone 11 or 12 the 7 feels like a toy!

It's still very usable. My brother uses a 6 plus (with a broken lcd lol, sometimes u have to turn off and then on the display, from a bend) but otherwise perfect condition.

You can get the 7 for about $100 online in good condition. Cheaper than any budget Android.

Expect bad battery life, heating at the back ( which almost burnt my hands ) the SE 2020 is the good spot here.

Nice phone, I'd recommend you get the 8 or the 10 though, but if you prefer the 7, I'd say it would be an alright main phone
I just got my 256GB iPhone 7 with a custom extended battery installed all for USD $175 last week and I'm definitely loving it right now. It's a lot better than my last iPhone 6 Plus for all intents and purposes. On my 5th day and already I have a chock full of pics and videos. This is certainly a joy for me. I heard Apple may continue supporting iPhones 6 and 7 and for another 2 years or so, so I do plan on buying the 8 Plus in a few months, I just don't want to have to buy any of the new iPhones even if their tech specs are much better.

i just recently upgraded my 7 to an 11... if you really use the 7 hard like on snapchat it will give you constant heat warnings and the battery is awful there was so many times I wanted to smash my phone, the 11 is such a good upgrade for a good price

Still using 6s and it works great for day to day activities but battery life sucks. Thinking to upgrade to an iPhone 8 or SE but I'll miss 3d touch, headphone jack and live wallpaper 😞

I had to change my battery and display ,after that its running fine even in 2021 ,im probably gonna upgrade to iPhone 12 or 13 mini by next year hopefully 😁
The mini is the way to go. I picked up a used X and I'm still going back and forth between it and my 7 that I was upgrading from. A lot of the time the X just seems too big. I think I'd love the size of the mini... I'll probably get that in a couple years when they're cheaper.

I had a 6s, used it for 5 years. Thank God the screen broke.. bought an Galaxy A52S 5g! It's crazy spending $600 on an iPhone to get atleast 6 hrs of Screen on Time

I have an iphone 6 and it all good since im broke to buy a new one the only problem having ang outdated phone is it slow,outdated ios(ios 12).But if your broke to and u want iphone u can buy iphone 6s or 7,8:)
I changed the battery and it returns screen on time for around 3 3.5 hrs but the battery standby time is good 👍 overall will use this until i breaks 😂
This phone performs well
Mostly in every section whether it’s the camera or the performance.
But the only thing which will really disappoint you is it’s battery life.
Battery life is not so incredible according to 2021 smartphone battery aesthetics.
Nearly every smartphone whether it’s ios or android have a bigger amount of battery which goes well for a very high usage.
Apart from battery this phone also misses some of the most important features included in ios 15 like the LIVE TEXT feature which is something every iPhone 7 user will miss. But overall this phone still performs very well and I don’t have any issue with iPhone 7.
And at the last, this phone might not be able to compete with some of the newer iPhone cameras as the chipset and sensor is quite older, so it’s obvious the it couldn’t reach a quality according to new iPhones
Rest of the things in the iPhone 7 is very balanced according to 2021 smartphone performance. It’s a package of a balanced feature when it comes to a competition from 2021 smartphone world.

I’ll rate it 6.8 of 10
Which according to me is still a worthy choice if you wanna enter in ios world for the first time.

still miss 3d touching the left edge of screen to get into app switcher
On the new iPhones the gestures take care of that but I still miss 3D Touch on my iPhone 11.

I have an iPhone SE (1st generation) and just bought an iPhone 13 mini recently - although the battery life of the former iPhone has suffered greatly since having iOS 15, it's still definitely usable in 2021 (but I'm really glad that I upgraded this year lol)
