This song was 1973 - the greatest year for rock albums. Written by Ringo and George. You can hear George singing backing vocals and his guitaring is all over it.
Ringo is performing the song at George's Memorial Concert. He's obviously aiming it at his loss of his best friend George in this video.
The audio is the original single from 1973 (which actually had it's own video).
And to his left (our right viewing the screen), if no one has pointed it out yet, is George's son Dhani
@@harrisfleming7431 I thought it was Dhani
😢😢😢
He wrote it with George
I agree with you. I think this is Ringo’s best song.
Happy Birthday Ringo. 81!
George Harrison's finger prints are all of this song. One of the better songs from Ringo for sure.
George wrote a song of remembrance for John after he was killed called "All Those Years Ago". Well worth a listen. Thanks Harri.
When we was fab is also a nice Beatle-esque number by George.
YES!!! I LOVE the song, “All Those Years Ago” !!!!! At the same time, it’s like a jab to the heart!!! The tune and th words are SO soulful!!!
@@danduntz9112 GREAT song!!! That one gets me very emotional!! Thinking back to that time a long time ago when they were, shall we say “FAB” ???
Yes, so beautiful. Elton John's Empty Garden is also for John and just as poignant.
Ringo said that he knew Photograph was going to be a hit, even when they first wrote it on acoustic guitars. He was right. Sincere condolences on the loss of your father Hari, May he rest in peace. I am sure he is looking down with pride at what you are accomplishing with your reaction channel. Closing in on 50K subs is quite a feat. Regards, RNB
He's a Beatle. That's all I need. Love Ringo ✌🌻🌻
Ringo's writing and singing have grown and improved over the years.
Harri, I think you'd want to know, in that clip used in this video where Ringo is wearing the red jacket (1:14), the guy directly behind him in the grey shirt is Eric Clapton, and the young fellow to his left (our right) in the cream-colored shirt is Dhani (pronounced "Danny") Harrison, George Harrison's son. (He looks just like his father.)
Ringo isn't given enough credit for his drumming, song writing, or singing. Consider who he had to live up to. In another group he would have been a star. His quirkiness has always appealed to me. Rock on Ringo.
he was & is, just look at all the professional drummers that say he is the best
There is nothing more to be said. That is a beautiful song.
Ringo belongs to the music world.
Another George Harrison-Ringo Starr collaboration, with Harrison writing the music and playing the chiming guitars. This became an instant hit and among the biggest of Ringo's many early -to-mid seventies string of hit records.
Possibly the best of all the post Beatles songs. Certainly in the top 3 or 4.
George produced Ringo as well and was the main song writer.
Richard Perry was the producer. But George sings and plays on it.
RINGO was such an amazing drummer, no body better on the drums
Ringo often had a camera handy and took lots of photos back in their crazy Beatlemania days. This song was written by Ringo and George Harrison.
LOVE this tune!!!!
❤❤❤❤❤ Have always loved this song !!!
An absolutely lush melody and perfectly suited for full orchestra and back up choir...
I think this is my favorite that Ringo songs, and using it as a tribute to George makes it even more special. Give George’s “All Those Years Ago” and “When We Was Fab” for some other great tributes to other Beatles.
Ringo Starr and the All Star band is on my bucket list
Every song from the album "Ringo" is worth listening to
I can still remember playing the 45 of this song on my little record player, and singing along as a child.
A great vocal by Ringo…. And 100% spot on…. Written by George Harrison….. and featuring on Ringo’s best LP Ringo (1973).
Definitely, Ringo's best song, written by his best buddy George.
Happy 81st Birthday Sir Ringo. Much love to you 🎉💕🌹💕🎉
That's what Ringo looks like today! He danced around the stage for hrs at his age. I have seen him twice. I love Ringo!!
I was 15 when this song debuted. I still enjoy it. I hope this and the next generation does as well.
I loved this song most of my life , one of my favorites, beautiful
Yeh, great song by Ringo and George. Peace be with you Harri .
I have a book Ringo wrote called "Postcards from the Boys" wherever the others went on vacation they sent postcards to Ringo. They all of course sent goofy Cards but mostly with loving communications. It's well worth having. I recommend it to Beatles fans...I being one.
This is my very favorite Ringo song.
The young man playing acoustic guitar is George Harrison's son. This was performed at a concert to honor him.
Great song.
😊❤
Dhani Harrison.
These song is fantastic
a great masterpiece
by George Harrison to (and with) your dear friend Ringo
The lyrics are great, the melody is pure beauty, and Ringo sing it very well
I believe that was #1 in US, it was included in the album "Ringo", with the three ex Beatles writing songs for Ringo, and playing instruments and backing vocals (but not all four together)
Just today, July 7, is 81th Ringo birthday
What a great homenage!.
Happy birthday, dear Ringo
GOD bless You... and
Peace And Love!

P.S.: not sure, but I think that You are the first in RUclips to react "Photograph"
congratulations!
My favourite Ringo song. 👍👍
I was 10 when this masterpiece came out. Over the decades my taste in music has changed, but in each of the last 50 years this song was always in my top 5. I can easily say this song is my favorite song of all. It's literally perfect. It's not a wall of sound, but a wall of songs. I can't make out the number of instruments (sax, acoustic guitar, drums, piano, violin, castanets, bells?), and the lyrics are incredible. The violin at the end gets me every time.
Sorry for your loss/losses it's been a tough time for everyone and thank you for all of your hard work. If a Ringo show ever comes within a hundred miles from where you are GO! You will have a great time.
Ringo Starr is the most underrated Beatle . Great swag and style. They didn't mic his drums enough .
Definition of growing older gratefully. Still married to Bond girl, Barbara Bach.
God bless, and I will keep your loved ones in my prayers...
ringo's version of "you're sixteen, you're beautiful, and you're mine" is another great song!
I just love this song. First heard it as a 12 year old kid in 1974!
My favorite post-breackup song by any of the Fab Four.
Ringo. Great album❤❤❤❤❤
Not sure if George wrote this song for Ringo or if they wrote it together. Ringo performed it at the tribute concert for George and dedicated it to him.
George was the primary songwriter on this, but he did give Ringo a co-writer credit -- probably to give Ringo a share in the royalties because that's how George was (same with "It Don't Come Easy").
Ringo has said many times since George's death that he thinks of it as a tribute to George ever since.
@@LeChaunce Yes, at the Concert For George, Ringo stated that he and George had written the song together.
Together.
This came out in the 70s
Wonderful fresh never gets old.
Lost my only sibling, my younger brother last year, can't get through this song anymore.
Ringo was the foundation of the Beatles. his sense of humor soothed many hard feelings
This song brings back many happy memories as a child. Love it and always will.
George is the one harmonizing with Ringo here, beautifly done!
Octopus's Garden (1969) is a beautiful song too. George Harrison helped a lot with it.
George and Ringo wrote this song together. Beautiful song!
I love this song and I love Ringo always have.🌹❤️
Great interpretation friend. RIP to your friends and relatives.
At the end of the day, one of the most beautiful songs from the 70's. The decade of beautiful songs.
Oh Harri! I’m SO sorry for your loss! I lost my mum 14 and a half years ago! If she was alive, she would be turning 98 this month! Going to light a candle beside her photo and wish her happy birthday! Yes I know we are a bit crazy in my family! Lol! However it helps! Whatever helps with the grieving! Take care! I LOVE your channel! Stay safe! Greetings from Australia.
Big hit for Ringo. Went to #1 in 1973.. Takes me back in time..l remember buying the record. I bought an excellent book 'Photograph' by Ringo a few years ago..a collection of photos taken by Ringo over the years. ♥️🎼🎶🎵🇨🇦🇨🇦
This was my favorite song from Ringo’s first solo album. I love it. Such good memories!! ✌️
'Ringo' was his third solo album, it came after 'Sentimental Journey' and 'Beaucoups of Blues.'
🥰😊😇
The Beatles were put through the entertainment ringer and because of that they had a bond like no other band.
My condolences to R R, for his loss of Snuggles, and to you Harri for the loss of your father and other loved ones during this pandemic. Terrific, and heartfelt reaction, this was. One of your best. Harri, you're not alone in thinking Ringo didn't write Beatles songs, but in fact, he did write two: "Don't Pass Me Buy", and, "Octupus's Garden". They're not top tier Beatles songs, to put it politely, but the latter track has a kitsch quality that a lot of people love. He also received co-writer credits on a few other Beatles songs, for what that's worth.
If you're a Beatles fan, this clip might be the funniest 17 seconds on RUclips: ruclips.net/video/RhokFOP8IH0/видео.html
Cosmo Kramer thank you man! You're just a darn good person. Much abliged 😃
@@RAY_L_A You bet. Hang in there.
Fantastic song from Ringo.
Absolutely fantastic, timeless.
My condolences to you Harri on the loss of your father.
He would be proud of you man.
RINGO STARR "BACK OF BOOGALOO" (5:32 RUclips Video Uploaded By Bolanicboogie) This Video Is A Must,, Ringo Tells The Story Behind The Song.
I think Ringo was very underrated! I had this album back jn the day and loved it!
The album was great! It was the Beatles with Ringo singing.
I love this song so much. And you’re right, it sounds a lot like something that would have fit snugly in a Beatles’ record. I’m currently digging through Paul’s solo career, but I think I’ll also get to listen to Ringo’s albums too, thoroughly. And I also hope I get to see him live, I saw bits of his live shows here on yt and they sound like a REALLY good time.
Another Ringo song I love is Liverpool 8, which is explicitly about his time with the Beatles and those friendships.
And you should also check out his live performances of songs he sang on records. Especially Act Naturally. He’s drumming and singing and doing so very, very comfortably, and hitting every note without any help. I don’t think lots of drummers could do that. And his voice is just as lovable as he always was. Just so very soothing and comforting. ❤️
I just love this song! I bought it on a 45 when it was released and still have it today!
my dear friend, you are so GOOD and very CLEVER MAN best song that reminds of my dead wife and you played it for me, many thanks and may GOD BLESS YOU. JOE
Awesome song
Hey Harri. Tomorrow July 7th is Ringo's 81st birthday! He'll probably do a RUclips live stream as last year, which will have many friends around the world chiming in. ✌️😎
A lot of people just think of Ringo as a drummer but he can sing too! What a great song; beautiful ❤
Ringo had 7 top ten hits in the seventies,Hari! Until covid hit he was touring every year. And his newer cds, while not huge sellers are very good including an EP from just this year.
I'm so sorry to hear that, Harri. It's terrible that I feel fortunately to have lost only one friend to COVID.
Ringo co-wrote and recorded another beautiful song, this time specifically about George, called Never Without You. It's a tear-jerker for sure, and a very nice song. There's a video of it on YT somewhere with loads of photos of George throughout his life, including many of him and Ringo together. It's a beautiful tribute, well worth a listen.
I love this song and have since it came out when I was in eighth grade! Ringo is still my favorite Beatle!
Oh gosh, one of my all time favs. So unique.
I think my favourite of Ringo's vocals number is on The Beatles version of The Shirelles' song 'Boys'. It was his first recorded lead vocal with the band.
He wrote it together with George! it's such a beautiful song!
A photograph is a private time machine for those who have a personal tie. The first time I realized that was when I heard Corbin and Hanner sing "Scooter, Michael, Danny and Me" from their album "Black and White Photograph" and it fit my experiences so perfectly.
The Magic Christian stars Ringo Starr. Good movie! It has good music in it.
I love this song! Great choice! In fact the entire Ringo album is a guilty pleasure of mine. The closest we got to a reunion on an LP.
Saddest song I know - never fails to get me. The change in chord (or whatever it is) on 'realise' is genius.
'Back off Boogaloo' for another Ringo number'Get back Boogaloo' for another Ringo number
This song is a masterpiece. I never thought Ringo got the credit he deserved. I'm filled with thoughts and emotions, which is a sign of real art, everytime I hear it. Thank you Harris for posting. Stay safe and love one another❤️✌️🎵
This is from the Concert For George - his son, and nearly twin, is playing the acoustic guitar behind Ringo. My favorite song from this LP is Sunshine Life For Me - Lyrics by Ringo, music by George - with a cast of backup singers.
Sorry to hear of your loss.
Carry On!!
All Ringo's solo stuff is great. He was also a mad keen photographer, always. It's his 81st birthday on 7th July I believe. No it was way before anyone died.
Hey Harri, alright?
Harri. Check out Ringo's version of 'You're Sixteen'. It's great! Photograph was written by George and Ringo and produced by George on Apple Records. George plays guitar on this and on It Don't Come Easy.
Ringo did a really fun song called Back Off Boogaloo. You should give it a listen. I'm enjoying your reactions, Harri.
I think it was co-written by Ringo lyrics/George music ☯️✌Peace & love
I think 1973-74. I had the album. Still love the song.
One of my favorites growning up.
That's George's son Dhani playing acoustic guitar next to Ringo. The Beatles go on and on
RIP to your Dad Harri and all who lost loved ones. Beautiful dedication
I am so in awe of performers not busting out in tears when the songs or the memories are so sad. I totally would not be able to sing an upbeat song to a dead friend. I would not be able to endure the sadness. Peace.
I was in high school when this song came out, and we were adjusting to a world without Beatles. Over the years, as you say, this song expanded to be relevant to many other losses. The images used here really boost it. Great segment, Hari!
George actually helped out a bit on writing with Ringo. When they gave The Concert for George, he said ...the meaning has changed. I loved George and George loved me". Great song. Ringo would be the first to admit he's not the best singer but he sure is better than most people give him credit. "You're Sixteen" is a fun Ringo song!
Harry, so very sorry to hear of your father’s passing. Love and peace to you, my friend.
If I list my top give individual singles from music's MOST REMARKABKE DECADE, the 70s, this is one of them. A pure anthem of a song by George H., this song begs for full orchestra and choir. Amazing tune and along with It Don't Come Easy, Ringo's two best tunes.
Harri, you are the BEST(ie).
I think on The Beatles first tour of the USA, in 1963, they were given Pentax film cameras. Probably K1000s or Spotmatics. Could have been their second tour.
We love you Hari! Sorry for your loss. About the song, yep it could include many life losses and don't forget Ringo was a Beatle. Love the piano in the song. ✌
