- Two notes Opus thoughts - this review is entirely my opinions and the device used was purchased by me. I created this because I could only find one video that wasn’t on a large channel that had been sent a device to review at the time I was considering purchasing it.
Really nice, honest review. 👏
I have the hx stomp, and while I still use it, I recently added the opus and the revolt bass and they are out of this world!!!
So you are running the opus and the revolt in the 4cable method and using the hx as fx? Nice! Glad you are happy with your setup
The feet are just glued on. I took mine off easily when adding to my board.
I hear ya. I guess I’m just picky about that type of thing, and would prefer to avoid having to alter it, even if it’s just taking off feet.
Does it have any sensitive latency in milliseconds? Like dsp in any DAW. ?
There is definitely a latency that is detectable when changing settings. For instance if you are hooking it up to the app or computer or using the submenus to change parameters there is a delay. More of a delay with the app than the other ways of changing settings, expected with Bluetooth. There is also a delay when changing between presets. I haven’t used it in a di setting yet so I can’t comment on that, or changing via midi. When just setting and forgetting, I do not detect any latency while playing.
Hi, useful, I’m going to buy it
Can’t you use midi to change on the fly ? Don’t you use Bandhelper ?
You can use midi to change it. I was pointing out that this is possible and it circumvents the inability to swap channels on the opus; however I don’t use midi. Almost none of my effects are midi capable, and unless I purchase more midi capable effects it’s a large chunk of extra money on my end to put out to swap presets. For people who already have a midi rig, this is moot point.
It sort of is for me as well in my current uses as with a fuzz and an od pedal with the help of my volume knob, I can get most of the sounds I need for a song.
This could be a big drawback for some people who absolutely need to swap channels and don’t have other ways to get around the lack of this feature. Other products in a similar price point have a two channel swap, or an fx loop, or both. Personally it came down to the tone being so good for a modeler to me that I can overlook the lack of these other features.
I have always enjoyed being able to turn knobs and flip a switch on the fly. You can set it up without an app, but there are a ton of sub menus to go through. The app does the same thing and way faster, it just takes a bit of getting used to.
Thanks for checking it out!
Hope you enjoy your new gear!
Add the Two Notes Revolt, it has the fx loop, 3 channels, and more. It’s an awesome piece of equipment, especially when paired with the Opus. You won’t be disappointed!
