I watched a bunch of your videos and I gotta say I really like how you seem curious about several things. I'm fascinated by a lot of different fields too and it's nice to see other people with "weird" hobbies and ideas out there. Keep it up, you deserve way more subs!
Thank you (: It's nice to hear from someone who knows what it's like to have a general sense of curiosity about things. I've been that way for as long as I can remember. Mushrooms are the subject im the most intimate with, as you can tell from my videos lol, but I like learning about pretty much anything. Especially if it's a hands on subject or experiment. I really enjoy seeing things happen before my own eyes. Even if it's a super simple thing that's been done and seen a million times, it just makes me happy to experience it personally.
@@randomergy683 I'm just getting started with mushrooms but I totally get it. If I can get my hands on something and get it working with my own knowledge and research I'm the happiest man in the room. A lot of my friends don't get it, they just kinda laugh it off, I don't mind, I love learning.
Thanks for the review, I was just looking at this exact one and found your video. I think I'kk give it a try. I plan to use for inspecting knife bevels/edges.
Im also looking for a microscope for the same reason. I have recently gotten into knife sharpening and want to make sure I've created a proper burr and remove it properly as well. Did you end up getting this microscope, and if so, does it work well for those applications? ✌️
Hello @Randomergy, Thank you for your insightful review. I recently acquired this microscope model for PCB repair purposes, and I would like to share my experience with it. Initially, I found the stand to be somewhat inadequate, as it appeared rather fragile and unstable. This aspect could certainly benefit from a more robust design. Furthermore, after capturing several images, I encountered technical issues with the microscope. There were noticeable purple lines and discoloration when viewing the images on my smartphone, which indicated a malfunction in the device. While these issues were disappointing, they seem somewhat expected given the microscope's affordable price point of $40. It's a reminder that the cost can often be reflective of the product's quality and durability. Again, I appreciate your thorough review on this product, as it provides valuable insights for potential buyers like myself.
Thank you so much for your comment. So far I haven't had any of those issues with picture quality yet. But I do imagine with a mass produced product like these the quality control can be kind of lax. As for the stand, it's honestly kind of useless in my opinion. I rigged the other decent stand I had for my old microscope to fit this one and it's much better. But honestly I'll be using it more for taking pictures out in the woods and when I do that I just rest the edge of the bottom at an angle to get the shot and it keeps it steady enough. Thanks again for the interaction, I really appreciate your input (:
Hello i got this on march 2024 i was using it until today everything worked fine today i had it connected to my computer studying my meteorites then i turn off and later when i try to turn on to continue my work this is where things became really bad it turn on and suddenly stopped working i tried reset it nothings happens the microscope is on it can't turn off there is little light coming from the led lights and above the red light is blinking i tried everything nothing works i can't connect it anywhere it doesn't reset it doesn't turn off and not charging i send a message to the seller on amazon i hope for an answer. My friend do you know what happens it seems it got really bugged or died on me. 😮💨
bought 2 from Bysameyee on amazon (Dec 31) and both of them had less than 5fps for the first 2-5 mins after connection. It got pretty old having to wait for it to "warm up". Could've just been a bad batch from China and i drew the short straw, but im gonna give it another shot, this time from Ninyoon and Cainda (amazon). Hopefully this goes better. these things have lots of good reviews so im guessing it was just a fluke.
I just saw one of these (same branding) on Amazon without the stand for $32, but they had a new return that was $21. That’s cheap enough to gamble on. Thanks for the video!
I don't think so because it uses wifi to project the image to the device you're using to capture the video feed. You basically treat the signal the microscope puts out as a regular wifi connection and use that to capture the streaming video on your phone or whatever. But the microscope itself may be able to be used as a wifi Hotspot for multiple devices to intercept the video feed. But I'm not an expert at that sort of thing so I don't want to say for sure one way or the other lol. I'm sure there's someone out there who could figure it out
I can understand that. The app you need to download works but it is a little Janky I won't lie lol. That's kind of why I hooked it up to my old tablet and my old cell phone with no personal information on it. I mean in all reality it's probably fine. But yeah, when I take it outside to look at things I'll probably use my old blank phone to use it instead of my new one. Just in case
You can 3D print a pretty nice adjustable stand, if you have the ability. Can you zoom or just focus? Can you zoom on just mobile devices, or on Windows PC as well? On the one that I just purchased, I can zoom on mobile devices ONLY, but not on Windows. The seller buries that piece of trivia on a back page of their Amazon posts. Sucks...
Yeah you're right, tax return season Im getting a 3D printer because it would be so handy for stuff like this. I guess You can technically zoom, it has zoom in and out buttons on it but it's all digital. I'll have to plug it in to my computer and let you know if this one let's you use the zoom buttons over usb
SPOILER ALERT,USB 2.0 can barely manage 1080P@20FPS much less 4K,1080P=(1920x1080=2073600 pixels),4K=(3840x2160 = 8294400 pixels. Multiply 2,073600 x30fps x24 bits for colour. 4K my rear only a really stupid person or a liar would say that thing can do 4K video NOT EVEN 2K.
It does I have it and tested it and USB can do 4k not USB 2.0 3.0 can and it says on the box depends on what device you use donid guess it would only do 4k with new phones not laptops because well I'm pretty sure it uses USB 2.0 but technically It does 4k
Windows is probably flagging it because it doesn't have a publisher which is common with generic software. This camera does work with other microscope software. Just search for "USB microscope software" on Google and you should be able to find something that'll work with it (:
What is the name of the camera app?
Unboxing videos are much easier to watch when the reviewer can use both hands to demonstrate the product. Maybe unbox a cell phone tripod.

Can this microscope be used through a cell phone's WiFi hotspot, sharing the internet?

Can you see grooves on vinyl records?
@Stormmover Hmm. That's a good question. I'm sure you could see them to a point but I'm not sure how much. I'm curious, I might check that out myself
