If you need more Ayoade in your life, we got you covered. He features in the Culture episode of our podcast available here: ruclips.net/video/fVDZTLfg0pY/видео.html or on iTunes: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/9-culture-richard-ayoade-debbie-harry-jia-tolentino/id1374190347?i=1000456470975
I've had the pleasure of meeting him and he is very charming, though socially awkward, really can't see him being one for wishing to go for a beverage with folk.
And let me add: Ayoade's theory that 80's cinema is somehow responsible for the rise of the Trump cult (and Trump himself)...this is dangerously close to a conspiracy theory of my own regarding how little my generation has touted in what we consume (music, television, literature, films), in not asking much of ourselves and/or avoiding any real tax or challenge of our emotions and intellect. It became more cool to avoid the crippling charge of "being pretentious" by waxing poetic about the poetry-absent Die Hard movies or something of the sort. The steady lowering of the cultural floor...a laziness, an about-face to actual, quality art...might be an ingredient to the demise of civilization. Which I feel is very much underway, a la Devolution. (And I grew up in a trailer park in Oklahoma so, possibly, my resentment for where I came from has made me so anti-nostalgic, landing me here as the grumpy nerd that I am today.)
Point break is the ultimate example of 80s macho man, movie Patric Swasie, ride or die, homo erotic, bros fighting together till the end movie,.. Roadhouse good, pointbreak better aga9n t9 analyse
I've rarely seen such a smitten looking interviewer. He looks like he's one slip of reality away from his eyes literally turning into hearts.
❤Don't❤know❤what❤you❤mean❤
I see it. And now I can't unsee it.
No court would convict him.
So in love with Richard
Wow, an Ayoade interview that didn't collapse in on itself. Shame no films in progress.
He joked in his last book that he was "threatening a third", so I really thought there was one.
ConspiracyJuice he recently wrote on Twitter that a third one is happening.
You suuuree?
ConspiracyJuice twitter.com/RichardAyoade/status/930137754415108096 i think it's telling
Oooooooh! That's exciting. I might watch Submarine for the tenth time tonight in celebration.
I loved Ayoade on Ayoade. Didn't know he was coming out with another, I will be picking this up as soon as possible.

@@WaterstonesTV thank you!
The way Richard describes aging Stephen Seagal... *cried tears of joy*
I never want to meet people I admire, especially artists. But I would really like to have a beverage with Ayoade.

Read this book by the legend Ayoade and absolutely loved it
Is the sound editor on this attempting to gaslight me by gradually decreasing the volume?
No, it's all in your head.
I liked this interview. And that fight at the end made me laugh. It made me jump when it started. 😄😂😅😜😁😆
I love almost every interview with Richard.
Ayoade: Our desires are in alignment
Moss: Egg and my face were in alignment
Amazing book.Well worth purchasing.

When cloning finally becomes a thing, I want Ayoade's DNA....
Not entirely sure what you're after... But as long as you're female there already is a natural way to have that. :P
tobbaddol not good enough. I want one of him at my side without the guilt of kidnapping him from his current wife. is that too much to ask?

One thought he was invincible... the other thought he could fly...They were both wrong!!!
Steven Segall is like today's Brando without the talent....

20 mins of inconsequential waffle.
mmm, waffles.
21 mins of non sequential dribble. I concur.
99 IZE twat, what is your point
mmm, dribble.
....but you get to hear from a very quirky, interesting and charasmatic man. You watch too much mainstream Tory drivel.
